They provide fresh fastfood and drinks, the price is quite more expansive than the normal restaurants, but it still acceptable.

Chicken tenders were dry and fries were grease. We won't be eating there again.

Had the burgers and the tenders. Everything was delicious. I have the pickiest kid on earth and she eat her food and a little bit of mine, even though they are big plates. Totally worth the price and the wait in the lane.

Explorer's Café is a quick-service restaurant located in the heart of SeaWorld San Diego. It is a popular spot for families with young children, as it offers a variety of kid-friendly options. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, pizza, and pasta dishes. There are also a few healthier options, such as salads and fruit cups. The food at Explorer's Café is not the best I've ever had, but it is serviceable. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. We got the southwestern wrap and it was OK. Few vegetarian options are available. The service is also efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. This was part of the all-day dining pass which works really well! Overall, Explorer's Café is a good option for families looking for a quick and affordable meal at SeaWorld San Diego. However, if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience, I would recommend one of the other restaurants in the park.

It was ok and not much of a selection. The burger tasted like a boiled price of meat, no flavor and they are very slow. The chocolate cake is horrible.

Stopped by for a chicken tender plate. The chicken and waffle fries was ok, was kinda warm. The chocolate cake is good but the meal was aight but, it's an amusement park so yeah. The line was looooooong, set rime aside.

Good beyond burger! Excellent French fries. The cup cake was great if you prefer not too sweet. I had the all day dining deal. At least 4X too expensive at regular price

Its a typical amusement park food fare. Overpriced, luke warm when served and no real enthusiasm from the workers. You can tell they are there for a pay check. The condiments were partly empty.

For SeaWorld, this is pretty good. Go here or Shipwreck Cafe. Take it from a former employee

It's hard to rate any food at SeaWorld because it's all super expensive. :/ This Cobb salad was a good healthy option. The ingredients tasted good and I enjoyed the different toppings like squash, which I'd never seen on a Cobb salad before. However, it was tiiiiiny. :( There was no dressing on it, but there were little packets of ranch available. I also got a cookie because it was thrown in for free, which was big and also tasted good and was a great soft texture, but way too expensive on the menu price.

Orange chicken bowl was surprisingly decent. Waited 20 minutes for our burgers thoigh, not sure what took so long. There were no lids, no ketchup or straws available at the time we ordered, around 3pm. But, the food tasted good, and the workers were respectful and accommodating given the long wait and circumstances.

Of note, Cafe 64 is the same as Explorers Cafe. The place is kind of what you would expect from an amusement park. Their Cafe 64 Burger was quite decent and of good size, though of course pricey; fortunately, we found the condiment bar when looking for napkins, which made a world of difference as without the lettuce, tomatoes, etc the burger looked quite sad. There was about a 10 minute wait to order and then only about 5 minutes to get the food; this was in spite of it being the middle of summer and, thus, a busier season.

The all day dining is made so that you have to wait an hour in line to order food (Need more staff) Food is marginal at best.

Terrible experience here. First of all the line is absurd, you wait longer in line for food than any ride at SeaWorld. Once you order, you have to wait even more. I ended up waiting even longer after ordering because they just completely forgot about my order, as well as a couple other people. After realizing they skipped our order, we told a staff member and instead of just making sure they make the food, he offered a refund. Why would I want a refund when I paid for all day dining, and already waited an hour for the food? Eventually they finally gave me my food and it was an atrocious burger. Worse than any fast food burger chain.

Here is your warning: Do NOT go here. I went to Sea World on a pretty slow day. Monday, December 16. I'm a pass member and I'm continuing my search for adequate food at Sea World. I decided I'd try this spot. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Took less than 5 minutes for us to receive our food. We proceeded to get all the condiments: ranch, BBQ, Mayo, and ketchup. The cheeseburger does not come with lettuce, tomatoes or anything, just a slice of cold cheese and a patty. And a side of fries. The burger was not warm. Not even under a heat lamp warm. The cheese looked like it came straight from the fridge and placed on a burger that was cooked 2 hours ago. The bun wasn't warmed, toasted, but was as rubbery as an automotive tire. Hence why we needed the condiments to be slathered on the bun. The fries were slightly cold, but at least the fries tasted good. 1 star for it being edible at least. Will not go here again. Jack in the box tacos at least have more flavor. All I ask for is FRESHLY cooked food. But can't even get that apparently. The BBQ place has my top vote still.

I ordered a 20$ chicken wrap and after waiting about 15-20 minutes, when called to the front, they said they did not have any, and made me quickly chose another menu item without the menu in front of me. I said one, but with no idea if it was the same price that I had already paid

R

Rude woman working the bar, which is where you have to get your dining pass. But there are no signs saying that. The coke machine is out of most syrups. You will not get what you order and they will tell you they are out. Meanwhile the next person will get what you order. Complete waste of money.

Orange chicken has the worst rice I’ve ever had in my 50 yrs of travel. No soy sauce? Just don’t bother. Eat somewhere off site. Legendary sea world ought to be able to do better than this. Don’t forget amusement park price for this. Also, strict timer to fill your fountain drink, I’ve never encountered this either………. 30 minutes later: still no refill of the ranch dressing after request. I’d give it a zero at this point.

Horrible, caro y tardado. Si vienen al parque, traigan sus lunch y eviten comer aquí. Fila de una hora para ordenar, y otra media hora para que te preparen, baja calidad de ailmentos, mal preparados, mal organizados. Lo peor del parque, sin duda,.

Worst place, worst prepared place to eat at Seaworld! Says it opens at 12 cashiers didn't show up till 12:10. The available menu online does not reflect what is actually being served. No menus to view while you are in line, the menus they have are printed and have crossed out things that WERE on the menu. The only place to view these menus are at the register which is extremely inconvenient because then you're put on the spot to order quickly, holding up the line because you didn't know what they served. People were coming extremely close, during this pandemic just to view a menu. Very disorganized. Can't understand why this is such a mess. Beware of you come to eat here. Don't trust online menus. The very least they can do is upgrade the online menus so everyone can look on their phone to see what is served. Very bad experience. Seaworld needs to fix this ASAP!

The Explorers cafe area is a dump and the food service is deficient. URGENT to improve the food delivery system, one hour for food delivery, many people crowded together without knowing what to do and the people who work there shout the numbers of your order, a real disaster, incredible that in this time are shouting numbers , this place is highly deficient

One of the worst dining experiences I've had ever. We waited 45 minutes for our food, to find out that my specific order of pot pie salad and vegetables ran out, and they wanted to know if I just wanted something else. They did refund my money, but they gave us the other half of my order which was my wife's which was chicken fingers and french fries. Chicken fingers were okay french fries were cold. Observing some of the other patrons they were complaining about their food choices also, the burger was horrible. I saw one gentleman throw it off to the side and say I'm not eating this. Way overpriced, but you expect that with a theme park. The process for ordering is horrible, you stand there with a herd of people while they are naming off tickets with not enough staff members, and a lot of people were getting very disgruntled. It took me a lot of self-controlled to not get upset with the workers. I recommend to avoid this place. This place could definitely use some management improvements.

M
McKay Love

half the menu items were not available, including all the hamburgers and fountain drinks. I ordered the chicken sandwich and was very disappointed. The bun was dry, the chicken tasted fishy was obviously frozen at one point and was still cold in the middle. Mayo had a metallic after taste and the frys were soggy. was also the most expensive chicken sandwich I've had in my life at $19. don't want to be a hater, and I don't usually leave reviews, but this place was genuinely bad.

H
Hab Khatu3

Worst food you can eat in the entire world. 20 bucks for bun and a patty, not a single thing apart from it. No lettuce no tomatoes no cheese no sauces no pickles, etc. Just avoid and save money.

J

N

OH MY GOD I should’ve checked the reviews before we went there. I ordered the orange chicken, and my son ordered the burger. The food looked like something pulled straight out of the trash can. The food tasted old, bland, and dry. The rice had no flavour, and the orange chicken was so hard to eat. The crust was SO HARD and cold. In fact, everything was cold. The burger had the most dry bun I’ve ever seen. Overall, we paid 40$ for absolute garbage. Never ever go to that place, bring your own food because it looks like all the other restaurants have the same food, and menu.

S
Stephen Rose

The negative star reviews are warranted. They should be embarrassed compared to how modern day amusement parks operate, it feels like they're running an extra large hot dog shack, but with more items than they can handle. Time allowing a bullet point all of the ridiculous deficiencies of their operation will be forthcoming. Ok here goes: - the loudest and most annoying are served first, so if you got in a mobile order just keep pestering them or people just walking up will be served before you - restocking of drinks, condiments, etc is incredibly dysfunctional. During my visit there was ice overflowing the drink machines onto the ground because they had ran out of all syrup on their systems. - the food itself is abysmal, but for every reason except the portion sizes. While this may be the best place to eat in the park, the best advice I can offer to fix it's issues is to close.

C
Chris L

Ridiculous wait for food ordered on the app, which was only ready well past the already long 35 minute ETA. Unbelievably, the physical queue for food was served faster than online orders, even for people who had started lining up well after we placed our order. When we finally got our food it already made us late for one of the shows which ended up being full so we missed it entirely. Avoid.

M
Mahmoud Kassir

Awful wait time. Awful service. Rude staff. Skip this place if you can. 90 minutes waiting for our order and that’s from payment to actually getting the food. Poor sanitary conditions. Multiple clear health code violations (easy to see when you’re waiting over an hour for your food to come out). Staff handling multiple different objects such as cleaning supplies and then touching food with same gloves. When a different customer complained about their food, you could see the employee feeling the food with her hands (gloved) after having handled the register. Overall, awful experience. Travel halfway across the country to come to SeaWorld so my family can spend 20% of the day waiting for a meal. Unsurprisingly the ratings here are awful so I know my experience was not an outlier. Wish I checked before walking into that circus.

M
MIKE

Cheeseburger was overcooked and cold. Fries overcooked dry and cold. Chicken tenders dry. No condiments. Just ketchup, ranch and BBQ sauce. Over 30 minute wait. Soda machine out of cola and lemonade.

Too bad I can't give negative stars! It was terrible! Cold food and so freaking expensive!! And my $18 hamburger didn't come with anything on it. No tomatoes or catchup or anything dry bun and cold burger. The line was too long and this was the only food place open at sea world. Next time I think we will eat the seal food. Much cheaper

A
Aaron Johnston

Staff is extremely rude! We got our burgers, they didn't come with anything they said came with them. Went back to the counter and the staff was extremely rude about it and acted like we were the problem. Food was horrible and overcooked! 15 bucks for a burger and it should be edible at the very least. I'll never eat here again!

J
Jeff Kolterman

This place was a train wreck! In my 40+ years visiting Sea World I have never had such a shockingly terrible dining experience. After waiting in line to order for over 20min, the kid that took our order advised us to "go wait somewhere else. It's going to be awhile..." He said next, "I wouldn't come back to the pickup window for 30-40 min". Sure enough, almost an hour later, I was standing at the pickup window, with probably 60 other people watching utter chaos. Of the 15 or so employees there, 3-4 we're working franticly in the back kitchen getting hot food ready, 6-8 we're standing at the warmer trying to put orders on trays while shouting at the back kitchen. 5 very lost looking employees were trying to get drinks ready and complete orders very un- successfully. Of the 8 windows there for pickup they were working out of 4&5 only. When I finally made my way to the window I found my order was one of the 8 sitting there with no drinks. I asked one of the shell-shocked young ladies if my order was ready, and was told "I don't know, I think we're working on drinks". I stood at the window for 10 minutes watching something that reminded me of a 3 Stooges episode, while the remaining employees of the bunch I mentioned "supervisors" passed from huddle to huddle franticly and occasionally barking orders to nobody in particular like "you just do ice". I would not be surprised to hear that a riot broke out at this establishment around the time we were there...the crowd was furious! I almost walked away with my tray of now cold burgers without the drinks. The food was aweful by the way. Cold fries and undercooked burgers that at the time of writing this, I think got me 🤢. For the privilege of watching this clown show Sea World charged me $72. (3) burgers, (3) drinks, and a kids meal. (That's with the platinum pass discount) The final kick in the teeth was the service fee tacked on top of the entire tab. Very disappointed is an understatement. I left feeling angry and upset for the poor untrained kids running this circus. Most of whom who looked like they were about to cry in the time I was observing them trying to run a restaurant. DO BETTER SEA WORLD!

K
Kassy Killey

Gluten free beware. I was given a gluten bun even after asking multiple times and the staff couldn't answer my questions if the fries are cooked in the same oil as other gluten items. The gluten free bun comes in a plastic bag like at Culver's.

C
Corrina Garcia

Most bland and tasteless food I've eaten, I got the orange chicken, my dad and brother got chicken tenders(meals) and none of it had any flavor besides the condiments we got with it. Good thing I got there and had dining passes when I did so I didn't have to wait that long or pay for tasteless food. You don't even get a cap on your drink.

B
Bret Bristol

Honestly don't even bother. Food was bland but semi-decent. Place gets 0 stars for service and wait. They said their machine stopped printing so they had orders backed up. Waited over 45 minutes for a place that has 9 items on the menu. Seriously, place was garbage

B
Ben D

This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in San Diego. I understand it’s SeaWorld, and they don’t really care whether guests enjoy the food because they know you’re already here and will probably end up eating somewhere anyway. Even on a slow weekday after summer break, they only had one cashier open, forcing everyone into a long line. The kitchen staff? Standing around, avoiding eye contact, clearly just passing time. The kitchen workers were literally just taking pre-made food out of the fridge and putting it on plates at the slowest pace I’ve ever seen, slower than a DMV sloth. They don’t give a dime about their customers. Horrible management and leadership. The food itself was even worse. I paid nearly $130 for what can only be described as overpriced, low-quality fast food. The photos speak for themselves. The only reason I even stayed was because my kids were hungry. I will bring some snacks next time. SeaWorld should be embarrassed to serve this to paying guests. Absolutely not worth it.

E
ERIC NAM

It was the worst restaurant. The hamburger seemed to be made three days ago and the chicken tender was terrible. In particular, the employee, was very unkind and I experienced the worst. Also,The burger bun was all sticked to the package and the food was all made previously. All that I liked about the restaurant was the carbon dioxide that was in the air.

C

The most hideous orange chicken I’ve tasted in my life. It tasted way too much like ginger. C’mon just buy some panda express sauce and it would be a success. Rice was tough as well.

K

One Star — Never Again I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered a Beyond Burger for $19.99 at Explorer’s Café and what I got was two stale buns and a sad, dry patty that tasted like overcooked cardboard. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion — not even a hint of sauce to save it. It was like biting into a mouthful of dusty regret. If you enjoy chewing on a flavorless hockey puck sandwiched between dry bread, then by all means, waste your $19.99 here. Otherwise, spare yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else. Complete waste of money and appetite.

S
Simon Steinberg

Honestly, I wish no stars was an option. Where to begin. Extremely long line that is NOT worth the time or capital. The service was incredibly slow and unprofessional. The employees were quite rude and unable to perform simple tasks. And onto the food…oh BOY the food. SO dry. SO old. SO soggy. SO crusty. Very unorganized and quite dirty. The food was unsurprisingly disappointing. The workers seemed confused and poorly trained. Unclear instruction on how everything is organized. Overall -100000/10. Would rather die than come here again.

Went to this restaurant within SeaWorld and ordered via app as suggested. After 30 min went to pick up window to find out know one working pick up window. A worker finally pulled up several app orders to get them started. Food was okay, but organization of this place terrible. Most didn’t know there jobs and seemed they did not want to be there. I would pass up this place

The most hideous orange chicken I’ve tasted in my life. It tasted way too much like ginger. C’mon just buy some panda express sauce and it would be a success. Rice was tough as well.

You can see your food sitting under a warmer long before you even order it. So it is half dried out. Why not assemble things when ordered to keep them more fresh?? The got rid of the burger topping bar, which was the reason we went, pickles, pickles, and more pickles.... We actually leave SeaWorld when it's time to eat (unless a good coupon) and go eat at the Zoo. SeaWorld San Diego has the absolute worst food of any park I have ever been to. I belive it is simply poor management practices.... Such a waste we would visit more and stay longer if there was just good food. But there isn't.

Rate : I am sorry there is no minus stars so will go with zero When me and my family were waiting we saw workers just talking and chilling not doing their work. We waited for one hour and thirty minutes. The food tasted like trash and we litterly ate nothing of it. My daughter felt like she was going to throw up. The workers were serving people that ordered after us and served older people before us. The workers are a group of teenagers serving with attitude and not knowing how to respect people. It was a big chaos. The workers were also not saying the orders in order. They just kept chatting and ignoring the big chaos infront of them. This restaurant will ruin your mood and time at seaworld.

Wish I could give it a zero. You huy a wrist band for $40 where you get a meal every 90 minutes. This place has 1 cash register and the line is out the door forcing you to wait the whole 90 minutes just to get your meal leaving you no time to get enjoy the park

I tried to order with the Q code. It wouldn’t connect to the site. So I got in the one line they had open. The guy wasn’t trying to hurry the line up. If the food is the same quality as the other places in Sea World, it’s probably good I just walked out. Sitting outside on the patio, I was debating whether to order online or walk in, and some guy at a table is smoking. His smoke is infesting all the surrounding tables and people are moving. I told a worker inside who said it was not allowed out there. I asked if He could get someone to stop the guy and he just shrugged.

I’m really disappointed with my recent visit to Explorer’s Café. I asked the staff for allergen information because my child have dietary restrictions, but unfortunately, no one was able to give me a clear or consistent answer. I specifically asked about the chicken tenders, and one employee told me the batter contained dairy. But when I checked the official allergen menu, it said there was no dairy in it. This contradiction left me feeling uncertain and unsafe, and I didn’t want to take the risk—so I left without ordering. It’s incredibly frustrating that none of the staff seemed confident or trained in handling allergen questions. Food safety is not something to take lightly. I really hope Explorer’s Café ensures that at least one team member on shift is trained and can accurately answer allergen-related concerns in the future. Until then, I unfortunately can’t recommend it to anyone with food allergies or sensitivities.

Don’t ever go here. Literally in line rn waiting for a burger and fries. It’s been 36 minutes. I hope you all get fired. *It was 50 minutes. I watched the guy making the burgers chat his butt off. After asking 2 employees where my food was (to which they unprofessionally brushed me off), 1 employee finally made my food. My order # was 78. They were up in the 90s. High school free lunches taste better than this burger.

Food - rice wasn't finished, raw Service - there were two lines to order. Well the person taking the orders in my line left. We assumed she would be back. Never came back! We waited for 10 minutes and gave up and just had to move to the other line. When we got up to the other person he said it her break. WHY DIDN'T SHE SAY ANYTHING! Atmospheres- it was raining outside so there was no where to sit

Really upset that the fountain drinks require a qr code scanner that doesn't work, when it does work the drinks are out of syrup, and then when you try to figure out if the drinks are filled with syrup again the staff tells you you're not allowed to be back here. Whoever's bright idea this was needs to reevaluate what they did and figure out how they can pay somebody to man the fountain drink station during operating hours so that this actually works otherwise they should get rid of this all together. Terrible experience not only stressing out the customers but also stressing out the people who are working at the explorer Cafe. Purchase a product that works before implementing it.
