Jimmy John's San Diego Reviews
The service was great, the staff friendly and the food, as always, amazing. There is nothing else like their subs. It has got to be the fresh bread. I love Jimmy John’s.
I came in all high with the munchies. This place did not disappoint. I love a good sandwich and a good sandwich I got. The jalapeño crispys were a game changer. This was Thursday October 3rd.
I'm a pickle lover and I tried both picklewich sandwiches yesterday and with a little mustard it made it a 10. I hope they keep it on the menu because it was worth the 20min drive.
Freaky Fast! Just opened in the heart of San Diego, right near HOB, FedEx and 5th Avenue trolley stop. Wonderful subs, chips, and drinks. And Dunkin for dessert. Brand new store! Pickle flavored chips and Lipton Iced tea. So beautiful it brought me to tears. And did I mention Freaky Fast. I joined their Freaky Fast Rewards, made an pickup order through their app and they said I get a free sandwich on my next order. The rewards are freaky Fast. Is this the first JJs in San Diego? It might be.
So I haven’t been to a Jimmy John’s since I lived in Arizona. I was so excited, and I was greeted by a super friendly face and a wonderful smile. Erica noticed me staring up at the menu and said, “here’s an actual menu so you don’t have to sprain your neck looking up there!” And boy was she right! Her energy made me feel right at home and she made the best Pepe sandwich! Thanks, Erica, you brought back great memories for me!
I don't know why people are negative about this location because from being greeted when I walked in to letting me take minute with the menu and helping me customize my tuna sandwich, the gentleman with the tattoos was lovely and helpful and congenial. The tuna sandwich was awesome and the lady making it was very nice and the portion and assembly were great! I will be back for sure and I'm glad I just stopped in randomly today.
It’s a Jimmy John’s. No matter where you are, a great sandwich. For this location, the service was kind and efficient.
It was excellent. I love jimmy John’s and was pleased to taste such a good sandwich after years of not having one. 10/10.

friendly staff great sandwiches the space is really tight though. why would a Dunkin and jimmy John's share a small space is a bit odd but I'd go back
I love Jimmy John's and have been waiting for a decade for one to open in San Diego. BUT! This location is just awful. There is no parking anywhere around it. I already got a $42 ticket just picking up an order. Left my car for less than 5 minutes. And there are no delivery options, even though I live 1.5 miles away. Guess I'll have to wait for another one of those promised 27 locations to open up in San Diego... You guys are missing out on soooo much revenue by not utilizing delivery services.
12 years of waiting for a Jimmy John’s to breach the outer walls of San Diego county, did not exactly expect this one. Same great sandwiches, thankfully! Service was ok. I showed up during a big lunch rush and they were backed up. The real flaw here is the location. Building is small, like any downtown. Parking is absent, good luck if you don’t live nearby or aren’t already in the area. No indoor seating, no typical Jimmy John’s decorations, no jars of peppers on the wall, just a simple counter and menu. Odd to me that this is what JJ’s chose as their entry to the San Diego market. If you’re reading this and this is your first Jimmy John’s experience, the food is up to par but the ambience is better at any other location (excluding airports). Can’t wait for them to open other SD locations (there’s a whole bunch supposedly coming) so I never have to venture downtown for this one. In the meantime, the subs (and really, the cravings for nostalgia of Jimmy John’s from living elsewhere over a decade ago) really are that good.
What has great sandwiches and is smaller than a bread box? This Jimmy John's.. for reference this Jimmy John's is roughly one quarter the size of a normal Jimmy John's which makes it really hard for the staff who are very friendly to meet Jimmy John's freeky fast sandwich mantra.. And the fact that there is zero parking to be had makes it a little bit more of a challenge to eat here if you don't happen to live in the vicinity Anyway good sandwiches good luck Jimmy John's with this location you're going to need it
Jimmy John’s is my favorite sandwich so I’m glad they opened a location in San Diego. The staff is friendly but they made my order wrong. There is very little parking and it’s a far walk to any parking space. I don’t like coming down town. This Jimmy John is right next to a busy trolley station in the most inconvenient location in down town San Diego.

Aside from the terrible parking, the girl who made my sandwich yesterday added peppers to my #9. The bread also was not the same.
Please be open later. Gaslamp needs a late night food option and Jimmy John's could be it. Nobody eats JJ's from 3-9pm. They want it for lunch and for after the bar. Do the right thing and change the hours please.

It’s a mixed Dunkin’ Donuts and JJ location. No fault to the worker but it’s one person trying to do three jobs in essentially two stores. It’s slow, inefficient and the quality suffers. Whoever is in charge of staffing needs to reassess what they’re doing here. Likely won’t return.
Been to Jimmy Johns 4 times in the last two weeks and got our online order wrong every. Single. Time. Its been the exact same thing and its getting frustrating now. We love jimmy johns! But may not be able to utilize the location we’ve been waiting so long for anymore!! Or at least until they work out the very obvious kinks from recently opening. ):
Horrible! Ordered a #4 slim, and it was 2 pieces of turkey amd that was it! I was too mad, but was already home when I discovered it. Like dude didn’t even try to make a sandwich!

Bad hygiene practices - I've ordered food online from there and lightweight regret it because of my recent discoveries. The first time I actually went inside, the guy took my order with gloves, the same gloves, he began to make my sandwich. But when he grabbed the bread from the shelf, something fell into the lettuce. Then he was using the back of his hand to wipe his nose. Serious red flag. The Mgr (I think) noticed the look on my face, told the guy to move to take orders and he put fresh lettuce. Then today I go, the delivery guy comes in, doesn't wash his hands, gloves up and goes right over to start making food. Oh did I mention no one ties up their hair or wears nets on their beards? I called and the supv said they'd address but I doubt it. I will stick to eating ramen at my desk or starving til I get home. I guess the staff At Jimmy John's doesn't believe in handwashing or sanitation in general.
