This place is one of San Diego’s favorite K-town spots. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the karaage chicken is a must try. And the best part is that they are open late, for when those late night munchies hit.

Wow! The sliders were great. They aren’t huge, but they’re rich enough that they don’t need to be. Chicken was tender and the outside had a nice crunch to it. Every piece of the sandwich just clicked together with each bite. Also the fries were really good. Honey butter flavor. Please Junya, you absolute mad lad of a restauranteur, KEEP THIS ON THE MENU.

I've been enjoying Junya's crispy karaage at Rakiraki for years, so how nice to see it expand with new options. The chicken is just delicious.

My friend and I tried the sesame tofu and chicken rice bowls. The portion size was perfectly filling for an average eater at $10.40 and the taste was great. In the tofu bowl though, there wasn't enough of the sesame seasoning and the rice was bland at times. Definitely recommend it though.

Karaage was good but they tasted over crispy and dry. Their seasoning includes curry which may be turn off for some.

I only tried the chicken karaage and it was not very good: dry and stringy. I didn’t read the reviews before walking in but should’ve. It was also overpriced - 13.50 for a small box (they give it in a large box but only line the bottom of the box and then leave space for sauces as well) and the ramen prices are too high (around $20), Tajima ramen is much better.

I wasn't particularly impressed by the food. There are better ramen places. Sacrilege, I know, especially since Rakiraki has such a cult following, but I'm standing my ground in this one. This new offshoot of Rakiraki specializes in fried chicken, and the chicken was, according to my dining partner, moist, soft, and devoid of cartilage or fat, though the curry beneath it tasted like the typical curry one would make in a traditional Asian household using the boxed broth cubes. The best part of the visit was the waitress, who seemed genuinely enthused to be there, went and got multiple sauces, and generally went way above and beyond. I don't expect servers to be delighted to serve me food or jazzed about what is truly a difficult, tiring job, but she was so positive and so lovely that I would highly recommend she be paid far more than whatever she's being paid.

Ordered the famous chicken - however was disappointed. The chicken was pre-cooked. Was cold on the outside. Disappointed for sure. I’d rather wait to get it hot than to get cold food.

Very very tasty but way to pricey for what you get. 2 small sliders, fries, and a coke for $20. Glad I tried JCK, but I won't be back.

ordered the sando and fries combo to go and got two giant pieces of cartilage inside my chicken. parking is non existent at the lot but the inside restaurant looks nice enough. been there to eat at raki raki a few times back in college but sheesh it’s gotten so much worse. i don’t think i’ll be back

Really bad chicken. I think they did a bad job with the starch coating. Every piece of karaage I got had a side with no coating which was overcooked, tough, and had the texture of jerky. Flavor-wise it was decent just couldn't get over the texture

We paid for extra noodles, but no extra noodles was put in our bag. The food was not terrible but not good, and everything was overpriced.
