At Shipwreck Reef Café, we invite you to indulge in a dining experience that's as unique as our location on the shores of San Diego. While some may find the crowds and lines overwhelming during peak times, others appreciate the tranquil atmosphere it brings - especially on off-peak days when the café is still bustling with those looking for a break from the hustle and bustle. For foodies, we offer a variety of options that cater to different tastes and dietary needs. The healthier option, like our grilled salmon, has been praised by many as a welcome respite from junk food. And while some may find our menu prices steep, others appreciate the generous portion sizes and value for money. When it comes to service, we strive to provide fast and attentive care to all our patrons. However, on occasion, delays can occur due to various factors, including technical issues or high demand. Our goal is always to ensure that every guest leaves with a smile, even if their dining experience isn't entirely

Shipwreck Reef Café San Diego Reviews
The salmon is really good and love the chocolate cake!
The salmon is the best meal at sea world and ship wreck rapids. I recommend it but nothing else. And there all day dinning is not worth the price.
Shipwreck Reef Cafe is a great place to acquire nutrients during one's adventure in order to obtain energy.
I have been a member at SeaWorld for 4 years now since they have opened the new shipwreck after remodeling it and adding more food 2 menu we are very happy
Takes a long time to get your food, we order pizza and chicken kids meal, and it took 1 hour for them to call our number after we order. The chicken was salty and the pizza was a bit overcooked a bit burned. Also it wasn't rush hours, we order at 4pm, but the personal was working as fast as they could, i think the pizza was taking a long time to come out so it was a stressful situation for them since lot of people kept complain and demanding food, I think something was happening with ovens or something cause I've had pizza before and its fast. Also never had an overcooked pizza before so probably something going on with the ovens.
The Waffle Fries were the only good thing here. The Cheeseburger was mediocre though since the beef patty has no flavor at all and sauce on it did not help it either unfortunately.
Decent food place in SeaWorld, second best. Tried the healthier option after eating junk all day, and the salmon was pretty good. The cupcake was very simple but nice and moist. No idea why the wait time is so long, they just premade everything and serve it to you right away but I still had to wait over 30 minutes in line.
It is a Tuesday in the off peak time, very few people here. We have a Platinum pass and get a double discount coupon monthly. Since SeaWorld started adding 5% fee to all orders, we stopped eating here unless a coupon. They also recently remodeled the restaurant completely inside. Previously you grabbed the food and they would charge you outside. Now you order off a menu and wait for your number to be called. We got the ribs. The flavor was alright, but they were not warm, and definitely not fall off the bone. Very difficult to try and scrape the meat off the bone. The fries and veggies (zucchini green/yellow, and carrots) were next to each other causing the fries to be quite wet. Not a good choice to serve them together. Overall I'd give it a 4/10, no thanks. The chicken tenders were warm and crispy as desired. The fries were not wet, but could still use a little more cooking. 7/10 and would order again. They had self serve in the pump style dispenser, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, & ranch. The area was messy and the paper cups were very small, to small to fit either meets into. 6/10 My son asked for pickles amd the employee went to the back and grabbed him a small cup. 10/10 thanks!! Bumped this to ⭐️⭐️⭐️ vs 2. Overall I would say my price of $23.xx was an ok price, but that is half the regular price. I would not eat here if it wasn't for the coupon and pass discount.

Almost made me and my friend throw up. People who work here are nice though (Update: friend threw up)
Waited too long, 45 minutes, though the food is ok. Not recommend to dine there.
This food was so dry, so expensive, and we waited an hour for food that wearnt even Good, the only thing that was good was the cheesecake.
I hate leaving bad reviews but seeing everyone having the same issues we did today for over a year tells me theyre not going to fix this terrible set up. Either shut this place down or quit disrespecting your customers and make a decent meal within an hour.
Overall, ok place inside of seaworld. Most of the food in the park is very mediocre but this was ok and does have vegetarian options. Food: i got the cheese pizza and impossible burger. Both were just OK, came hot, not many condiments for burgers. fries were pretty good! Portions are small. I really recommend just bringing food into the park Service: awful, if you order from the app — just go to the pickup counter and tell them you’re ready to pickup RIGHT THEN. Do not wait for the text. They do not prepare your order until you show up to the counter, the pickup times are purely crowd control. Atmosphere: none, pickup your food and sit somewhere in the park
We got the Pep pizza and the salmon. Salmon comes with “roasted vegetables” (just some chopped carrots) and “cilantro lime” rice (plain rice). Salmon and pizza were both okay though. It does not seem like the staff is put in a position to succeed. They were constantly waiting for food to be ready and it seemed like the amount of equipment couldn’t handle the volume. Also, the was no leadership presence in the kitchen helping to get orders out/help customers.
The food was too overpriced. Paid $90 for basically fast food for 4 people. We had to wait 1 hour just for those average-taste food! It works if you're starving though...
The food is good, but man the place is SLLOOOOOOWWW. They have a single line, and you see the item you, but you have to filter through the entire line to grab it. Typical theme park food and theme park prices, but I don’t know how this place makes money when it takes an hour to buy chicken tenders.
Way over priced. Paid $90 for me and 3 kids 10 and under. My oldest son who is usually a bottomless pit, didn't like the burger. I only ate about 2/3 of my burger.
Cant expect much from an amusement park, but the food is mediocre at best. I got the roasted chicken sandwich, assuming it came with lettuce and tomatoes, at least. But no. It was a semi-hard bun, with a chicken breast cheese and Mayo. The fries were obviously not fresh and had been sitting for a while, which is weird since there was a line out the door and were obviously busy. I will say the chicken itself was juicy, but everything else was just OK. The service wasn't horrible, since I ordered via mobile order, except it took close to 45 mins to pick up. Plenty of tables, so it wasn't hard to find somewhere to eat. It was also about 2:30pm on a Monday. With that being said, i won't be coming back here for a while.
For $22 you too can eat a slice of salmon and for $18 you can have a boat of salad. Also no where to eat...

Mobile ordering & timed pickup was no advantage over waiting in line at the regular cash register line. This was due to the Mobile counter having an inoperable register causing employees much confusion trying to fulfil orders. Our order was 90 minute wait.

Cheeseburger was room temperature not for sure if itt was beef had cramps afterwards
paid over 64$ for 2 very small flatbread pizzas and 4 drinks… robbed.
Oh the IRONY! Reading peoples reviews of them saying the salmon is the best dish here.
Worst food I’ve had in a long time. Good thing it was super expensive!
Food was disgusting and over priced. Do NOT recommend. Staff is not friendly.
Took 45minutes to get food ad they only had ONE employee on a side but 6 on another, food took so long to get it was cold..
Ants coming out of the soda machine, out of most things two hours before closing, slow, unhelpful staff.
My son hated the food and it was cold by the time we paid
Mobile order take 3 times longer that waiting in line.
Most horrible Food that I have seen in my life. Chicken salat was with a frozen chicken, no sauce, just everything thrown on the plate.
Waiting in line for almost 45 minutes. 5 cashier, 2 open.
Food was bad. It is definitely not worth the price. Food was cold and tasteless. Avoid this place, and get your own food to sea world if you can.
We spent an hour in a queue under the scorching sun for a tiny portion of mack & cheese for 12$! Don't recommend!
Very disorganized, takes such a long time to get an order.
Went Saturday may 29th. Rude service, the food is more expensive with less variety. They are trying to make up their covid losses.
No one had the courage to inform me that they didn’t have my Cobb salad! Made my family and I wait for almost an hour! This place is terrible!
The management of the line was ridiculous, they kept running out of food. Took us 45 minutes waiting in line to get cheese burgers
The worst place ive ever eaten. Food was cold, soda had no syrup. Too expensive. Ugh never again.
The worst burger I have ever tasted in my life
Over priced and food tasted horrible the staff was even more terrible than the food, they got one job is to only serve the food they don't even cook and they act like it's so hard to do their job, the manager was a bigger disappointment, people don't eat at this place unless you want to waste your time money on horrible food, the food from the schools is fresher and much better tasting, trust me I'm one of the cafeteria workers.
Waited 45 min for a mobile order to be ready (ok, it’s busy), then waited another 35 min to pick up the mobile order after receiving the ‘your order is ready’ message. Most inefficient and frustrating experience.
Absolutely gross. Go hungry before you eat here. Doesn't matter what you order. Sea World should be ashamed!
Long wait for ghastly overpriced food. How is it possible to serve a cold burger in a restaurant full of people. The service staff had peculiar attitude too.
Avoid this place if you can’t. Food is bad. Service is bad. Restaurant is dirty and employees seem completely lost. Also, only 1 register open! Takes almost 2 Hours to get your food..food wasn’t even good
This place used to be really good but it's just awful now. Cost $12 for a small cup of Mac and cheese with "fruit" that was just a small cutie. Avoid this place.
I know why it has such bad reviews now lol. Waited in a very long line just to find out everything we wanted on their menu wasn’t available.
SeaWorld talks about how finishing has polluted our oceans but their food options are 99% animal based. The only vegan option is a plant-based burger. No real healthy option.
I rarely leave a bad review but the food here was bad! I had the teriyaki salmon with rice and vegetables and my husband had the cheese pizza - both tasted like frozen heated up food! I took 3 bites and threw the rest to the birds. I’d recommend going somewhere else to eat!
Terrible food , taste presentation, I had the salmon and omg dry. Old nasty. We also god some burgers and the vegetables you had to get then your self they didn't had anything to grab them. Everyone was putting there dirty hands in it. The restaurant it was dirty food was cold and horrible taste. McDonald's can do better job very disappointed
How are there so many bad reviews and Seaworld management ignores them by letting the very poor experience of ordering food at Shipwreck Reef Café continue? I say ordering food because eating and digesting the food is another horror show. I ordered a Chicken Cobb Salad that was supposed to have Spinach, Dried Cranberries, Feta Cheese, and Butternut Squash. I was given a plain Chicken Salad, which had wilted and browned lettuce and old looking cucumbers and chicken. I asked them to get me a fresh Cobb. I was given a fresh chicken salad. My partner ordered a Chicken Salad and was given a Chicken Sandwich. We had to ask for the salad. Forty minute wait to order because ONE person was taking orders at the 12-1 lunch hour, Lemonade was water, chocolate cupcake was dry. Worst food experience I have had. Two stars for exterior ship theme. Avoid!
Avoid this place. You order online, get a text that says the food will be ready in 30 min and that they would send a text once it’s ready, an hour and 30 later and still no text, and no food. Add to that the fact that a small dish of 3 chicken strips and fries is $20… yeah, avoid this place.
I got the Chicken Cobb salad. It was bad, and overpriced. Pretty small portion. The chicken was wet and spongy. Some of the lettuce was wilted.
Food is beyond disgusting especially for the crazy expensive price they charge
This place used to my favorite to dine at seaworld, but has really gone downhill. The kids used to get big, juicy chicken tenders, now they serve 4 tiny nuggets and sell it for $10. You used to be able to put your own toppings on your burger, now they do it for you. Even watching my patty get taken right off the grill, it was still cold and gross when I bit into it. They use different buns now that are cold and hard. Way way way overpriced, and expect to stand in line for the majority of your day. Either bring your own snacks into the park or eat lunch before coming, that's what we'll be doing from now on
Avoid mobile order, the waiting time is more than in restaurant order…
Good was an astonishing $80 for three people. And there wasn’t any condiments let alone stews for my drink. Bad service for the price we payed.
Got a burger and fries! Forgot my condiments so my man went and got them! When I looked down at my burger there was a little bite taken out of it! I went back inside to get another one and the guy that took it out of my hand said no that is a fingerprint and also smelled it too! I said no way that is not a fingerprint that goes through the burger and bun! So when he told the lady she said she had a couple of fries already and I said but I didn’t touch my burger and they weren’t going to give me another one but they did! She said it so rudely too! No lady! I should of just then asked for my money back! I work in customer service my self and you don’t talk to people like that have some respect! Horrible customer service! I will never again spend 60 dollars at this place! They don’t really even deserve a one star! Also with Covid going around it is surprising that a place would handle food so carelessly!
The burger was terrible. The hamburger absolutely had no flavor and the. Grapes were all covered with mold. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this spot for those trying to find a place to eat.
Terrible, a complete mess. Takes forever, online ordering doesn't work
Worst experience ive had eating at a theme park. A ship themed cafe with 0 seafood offerings. Sucked it up and got the cheeseburger with fries. Burger was barely warm, fries were cold and soda had run out of syrup. STAY AWAY!!
What bothers me most is that some of these awful reviews are 2 yrs old and nobody is trying to remedy the problem. Do not eat here and do not go to Sea World. As for me and my family it took 1 hr 10 minutes to get my food. We almost missed the Penguin Experience.
I'd give it 0 if possible. The line was an hour wait for a piece of dry, tasteless fries and small cheeseburger which was also flavorless. Don't even get me started with the staff..
Ordered food on the app When we got there no one in the mobile order line was getting their food. People had been in line for 2 hours without getting their food. No way to cancel the order. Had to do a charge back to get my money back
Cold stale fries, hard bun. Overpriced. Teriyaki salmon is just sauce on the salmon, sauce wasn't added before cooking.
This place needs ownership intervention now! Used their mobile app to order lunch. One hr later, we came back to pick up our order just to hear that they didn't have the ingredients to make it. Got my money back, but come on!
1. Way over priced for quality of food 2. Quality of food was not good 3. Food was missing things or not the correct order 4. Staff was rude, bad attitude and obviously didn’t want to be working 5. If you get a salad, prepare for one sad sad salad.
Food was cold, mobile order doesn't save time and most of our order came out wrong. Our double cheeseburgers were singles.
Expect to get your food within 1 hour to an 1hr 30 min with mobile order. Service here suck. Just go to any other restaurant. If I could've have left 0 star review, I would of. my daughter and I were literally sitting in a bench just waiting and waiting honestly, this was BS
The service was awful, considering only one register was open. We waited almost two hours with no communication from the staff. Other than the unappealing, messy tables, the food was decent at best, but the chicken tenders were dry, small, and only okay. I wouldn't recommend eating here again.
To say this was bad, would be a high compliment. Line to pay was slow. Line to pick up "food" over 1/2 hour. Utensils, napkins, not stocked. Area a mess. We ordered ribs. Cold, nasty... fries cold, yucky. Veggies.. cold hard carrots. The cheesecake.. ok. And over over priced. Never, ever, nope, not a chance, again.
Very poor service attitude. Food was fine. Asked for a burger without sauce and pickles, staff responded with an ill tempered “Is that all” ended up getting a burger with everything on it.
This restaurants prices were completely outrageous. $20 for a burger and fries and the size is pathetic to say the least. Waited in line for an hour for this!?! Honestly we are so sorry we ate here. We fed 4 people here and nobody was pleased. We just got done at Disneyland and the food there was half the price for large portions and twice as much to get in. There was no ice for drinks, pumps for condiments not working, what happened!?! This was an awful experience.
The food here is disgusting 🤢, grotesque, and not freshly made. You will pay roughly $25- $30 a meal for garbage. I believe The ORCA Whale is feed better than the humans. Sea World please outsource your food to well known commercial restaurants because you guys cannot cook. Jesus Christ Loves You!!!
I wanted to share some feedback regarding our recent dining experience at Sea World. The restaurant was scheduled to open at 11:00 AM, but due to apparent staffing shortages and unorganized employees, we were unable to place our order until 11:30 AM. Unfortunately, my experience with the meal was quite disappointing. The burger was overcooked, the fries were cold, and the cola lacked carbonation. Given this experience, I would advise visitors to consider eating before arriving at Sea World and to bring their own snacks, as the food quality was not up to expectations.
We did mobile order and still had to wait in ridiculous line for 25 mins to get to the ordering, which was still not ready. The food was less than mediocre, veggie burger was literally burger between buns, no condiments, no vegetables. Why 18$ for a beyond burger? I should have read other reviews before ordering from here. The employees were obviously aware of the delays but not much they could do about it. Poorly designed mobile ordering system.
Horrible experience. The people working there were all young and inexperienced, and looked very confused. We waited in a crowd, standing for 40 minutes before we were given our food. My mom and my's pizzas were undercooked, and my brother's burger was overcooked. The online menu has several menu items that are completely ommitted. It's a mess.
Worst food I’ve ever had in my life. Had to cancel our dolphin in-water experience because it gave me food poisoning. I should have checked the reviews before going. All these people giving one stars and getting sick in the past month. Paid $17 for a grilled chicken sandwich that was literally just a dry bun and cold chicken and cheese. Disgusting. Paid over $50 just for my wife and I to have a quick lunch. Service was slow and they couldn’t even give half a smile or look of happiness to have a job in this economy. My wife’s salmon was tasteless and dry. Then again, I’m naive for thinking amusement park food would be good. Just a money trap. I’ve had better school lunches and food at football games. Never again! Pack a lunch or go get some good food in the city. Don’t waste your time or money on this garbage, it’ll ruin your day like it did mine by making you nauseous.
Might as well stand in line, mobile ordering does you no good! They say they'll text you, they don't, you still have to wait in line with all the other mobile orders and tell them your order.....over an hour wait so far and I'm still in line
Absolutely disgusting outside the cafe. The condiment table was covered in ketchup and BBQ sauce, but there were no condiments in the dispensers. No forks. No ice for drinks. Multiple people complained to workers. 20 mins later they replaced the BBQ sauce, but nothing else. It also took 30 mins to order and an hour to get the food. The most awful eating experience I've ever had.
I went to the Shipwreck Reef Café because there was a large selection of food that some other places did not have. Waited one hour for some average chicken tenders with fries. If you want any food, please go to a fast-service restaurant, because I went on a week-day at a time when some people are already back in school, and the line was 1 hour. Very understaffed, the food was actually pretty good, but the drinks were very bad. The sprite tasted like flavorless sparkling water, The Pibb Xtra was filled with Coca-Cola the first time, and when I got a refill, the Pibb Xtra was actually Pibb Xtra this time, but it was flat. If you want to eat at SeaWorld, go to a fast-service restaurant, or pack food from home. Terrible restaurant.
Don't use mobile order. It will take forever. Better to line up if you are hungry or you need to wait 30 mins. after all, I did not receive notification of food ready. so once you order something via mobile, you just go to pick up counter right away
Talk about scam !! Cant believe i spent $100 here for what I got. I was better off buying a hotdog from the stands, why is this place even an option here ?? Prisoner pizza, ribs were dry? 7 dollars for a fountain drink? And then to top it off i got a kids meal mac & cheese with "fruit" for $13 dollars 🤦♂️
Got the $14.99 personal pizza, after standing there not seeing it and had to personally ask an employee for it. Service was below average, with employees pretending I was invisible, so I had to personally ask them to help me. Once I got my food, I bit in and thought there was way too much cheese, but it actually turned out to be undercooked dough that I had a mouthful of. You could imagine the disgust, I just hope I don't get food poisoning. Two of the people I was with got the same item and theirs was also undercooked. Luckily, I asked for a replacement and I got one. Although that was also undercooked. The inside of the "cafe" has 0 seating and is very poorly lit and unorganized, thus the given atmosphere rating. This was the worst pizza I've ever had in my entire life, not trying to exaggerate The sauce was below average, cheese was flavorless, and of course the undercooked dough. This has been a reasonable representation of my experience here at SeaWorld, overpriced food that is below average with a good portion of employees not giving excellent service. I'll probably give a separate, much more positive review for SeaWorld in general. The food is the worst part unfortunately, although this restaurants food is borderline inedible. I recommend the bottled water because at least a separate company produces it.
Avoid this place like the plague!! Possibly the worst food in any theme park. But if you like really disgusting food that makes you sick to your stomach soon after eating, for $20 you can get a cheeseburger that is burnt and comes with no tomatoes, lettuce, whatsoever
We stood in line for almost an hour. They only had on station open and the staff was moving at a snail’s pace. The counters were dirty and they were out of almost everything. No regular size cups, no wraps, because they were defrosting the chicken. Look at the food pics to see how disappointing everything there really is.
The food (salad, wrap, pizza, chicken tenders, Mac n cheese) was shockingly low quality. The Mac n cheese (like half a cup total, cold) and wrap (only had one leaf of lettuce in half of it) stood out as being completely unacceptable. It took 45 minutes to arrive.
If you wanna get an ice frozen meal, go and get it. You will need to wait for at least 10 min for order. You can get all kinds of sauce, but it doesn't look they even care about it. Instead, Seagulls will be your waiter.
Extremely slow service, waited 20 minutes to order and we're still in line, avoid this spot if possible

I didnt eat the veggies and rice was undercooked and salmon was overcooked. This place used to be great before they made it a pickup order place. It was fun doing the line and food was fresh and delicious. Please bring it back. It was empty and I now realized that it is like that for a reason.
Don't waste your time or money here. Family of 4 and the cost was $130. All the food went straight to the trash. Gross, old, and dry. Who knows anymany times this food was reheated before making to my family. Soad was flat and no ice. Hopefully this review helps someone save their hard earned money. Avoid at all cost.
Mobile ordering does not save time. You order ahead of time and have a scheduled time to pick up. They claim they will text you too. In reality, they never text and you end up in a long line of others who have done mobile orders. A single line. Then when you finally reach the counter, the one guy goes back and assembles your food. Chicken tenders and fries that were not hot. And a coke fountain which was low on ice and low on fizz. Embarrassing for Sea World. Do they even know? A busy Saturday in June… they were short on staff by about 6-10 people. Each adult is paying nearly $20 per person. We are willing to pay! Why not have more people working and get more of us through faster? Sea World, you can do better. And this is a relatively easy fix.
Didn't have high hopes but still was highly disappointed. The meat in the cheeseburger was old and burnt, thr chicken tenders were disgusting (food was cold and the batter was gross). Also ordered a 2nd cheeseburger and a cobb salad. The worst $84 I spent on food. I'd recommend trying a different place to eat at Sea world.
Way overpriced for the quality and portion of food they give you. Also the majority of it is pre-made to make things fast, but service was still extremely slow and food came out cold. I can overlook most things but poor service I cannot. We spent $90 separately between 3 people. We each got a food item and a drink. I purchased a $7 fountain pop that can only be filled once by scanning the QR code on the cup and the coke came out clear when I went to use it. When trying to let any employee know about this and request a new cup, it was like pulling teeth. They thought I was trying to take advantage or something, even though the purchase was literal minutes prior and I showed them the cup full of clear liquid that clearly wasn’t coke. When I went for help, they ignored my requests and told me to ask someone else for help 3 different times. I circled back to the first woman at the food counter again because no one was helping me and I had been trying for almost 10 minutes. She finally rolled her eyes and gave me a cup without a QR code. So still no help because without the QR code, the cup is useless. I can sympathize with being short staffed because I work in the public as well and normally I would just take the loss if it’s only a couple bucks. But for how over priced everything in the park is, I would like to get my moneys worth. If it wasn’t for the poor attitude and lack of help, I wouldn’t have even wrote a review.
Took an hour just to get to the ordering stand. It pushed back our dining plan. Only 1 of 5 cashiers were available at 5pm. Employees seemed to not want to be there. There was no ice in the soda machine. The first bite of the chicken tasted rubbery... took it apart and it seemed to be cooked all the way. Definitely would not had been worth it if it wasn't for the food pass.
Food is terrible. We ordered the veggie wraps and chicken tenders for kids. Inedible. Only the fries were salvageable. Dirty tables.
With a long line. The restaurant only has one cashier. The second time here at this cafe and it is exactly like last I was here. I was waiting for more than 30 mins and the line was slowly move. Avoid this place so you can have more time for the rides and shows.

Expect to get your food within 1 hour to an 1hr 30 min with mobile order. Service here suck. Just go to any other restaurant. If I could've have left 0 star review, I would of. my daughter and I were literally sitting in a bench just waiting and waiting honestly, this was BS
