Spill The Beans San Diego Reviews
Delicious bagels with robust flavors and the perfect mix of chewy and crispy! Had the San Diego breakfast sandwich on a Serrano pepper bagel, and then the white truffle cream cheese on a sun dried tomato bagel and both were delicious. I would definitely be back to try more of the unique cream cheese flavors! The inside looks small but there is overflow seating into the bar next door!
Visiting San Diego for a conference and the breakfast bagel here has been the perfect way to start my days! Absolutely the most delicious and messy bagel sandwich I’ve ever had!
We stopped in here for some coffee (Regular Mocha and Americano) and treats (we had an apple cinnamon muffin and cookies and cream cookie). The mocha was good, the Americano wasn't bitter and the treats were good and filling. We saw their bagels but weren't hungry enough to try them, but they did look good. They also played a lot on the "420" theme, with many of their items referencing ($4.20 bagel; "pot head" coffee) this theme.
I was staying in the area and on the first day I needed a quick breakfast... not only was it quick, but the bagel was delicious, the perfect size to satisfy my hunger, and deliciously seasoned. The coffee was very good, both hot and cold. I would definitely return even if I wasn't staying in the area. Greetings from Mexico :D
My first time trying spill the beans today and I had the Cabo-cado toast on a habenero & jack cheese bagel. It was fresh & delicious!! I also ordered the basic sitch it was good as well .
Actually, their coffee and service is good here too. And I like how they naturally have 4 shots in their large latte, no adjustment needed (for my preferences, anyhoo). Because who wants to be complicated 😆 also a side note because when I came here I looked like a complete disaster and hadn’t showered in over a week and I didn’t get the rude judgmental stares that can be common in many places in the San Diego area. Was welcomed just as much as any other of the good looking folks that inhabit this region.
I went to the Gaslamp district the other day. I did asked what would the recommendation be for someone coming in the first time. I did got one of the recommended drinks when I dine in and the food recommended which I did for take out. I did got myself Sundried Tomato and Cheese Bagel with the cinnamon sugar butter. I enjoyed it very much along with the Basic Sitch drink which the sugar free alternatives when I asked if it possible as an option. I also got the blaze energy drink for to go due to other errands that day. Overall, I enjoy my experience and I appreciate the help and loving atmosphere there. I would definitely bring my friends with me the next time if I do go back.
Good coffee and bagel spot in the Gaslamp... bagels are interesting. They have more of a foccacia bread texture. The flavor is pretty good. Coffee was really good and they have a good selection from basic to more fancy creations. They seem to play with recipes and make things unique to them instead of just making what everyone makes.
Visiting from out of town and have been to a couple coffee shops in the area. This was by far my favorite! So many options and accommodations. Got an iced caramel latte half sweet and it was perfect. Also the fluffiest blueberry muffin I’ve ever had, at the perfect sweetness level. Service is friendly and efficient. Will be back for sure!
we went this morning & whatever angel girl was working the register deserves a raise!!! She was so sweet and patient. Food was delicious we had the San dieggo & the French toast bagel w/ bananas foster cream cheese spread. It was 11/10 The iced churro latte was also amazing not too sweet but sweet enough. Would definitely love to see that on the regular menu
I visited this bagel shop a few years ago and have been eager to return, and I finally got the chance! This place is incredible. The bagels are soft, freshly made, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Lox, Stock & Bagel, while I went with the Cabo-Cado Toast Bagel, and both were phenomenal! I also tried the Cinnamon-Bee Latte, which was perfectly crafted and so tasty. I love the open-concept design with large windows that fully open, creating a great atmosphere. It seems they share the space with another restaurant/arcade shop, which adds to the unique vibe. The service was excellent, the space was spotless, and I can’t wait to come back for another visit!
Very clean, nice place. Friendly staff. I made the mistake of trying to put in the straw when the hole is right on the side (not in the middle of the lid) and spilled the Matcha latte on the counter top 🙈🙈. I felt so bad. The staff immediately came to assistance, we cleaned it up together and they made me another one. It was handled well and they assured me that it was all good. I appreciated it so much as I was already feeling extremely sorry. Came back on another day for breakfast, the chia bowl seemed a little expensive for the amount of food but it was very good and not so sweet. The Thighmaster was rich with eggwhite (very soft, well-cooked and a delight because it was served hot) and lots of mayo/sauce inside. It was tasty. A little messy to eat, but oh gosh I enjoyed it a lot. Gave 4/5 for Atmosphere only because the outside sitting wasn't as clean and I had to clean it a bit myself. Otherwise great location and a nice place to be. Would recommend!
First time in this place. I tried the honey oat avocado-jalapeno toast full of flavor and the coffee was decent. Options for coffee they have ( halfand half-whole milk-oat milk) which I love the most. My husband tried the everything bagel with eggs and sausage. It was huge and looked very good. Very fresh and not dried at all.
5 stars for the bagel sandwiches!!! I got the Lox and my friends got the San Dieggo and both were great. I’m very happy we stopped for food here. I was tempted to give 4 stars but those sandwiches are absolutely wonderful. I got a cappuccino and it was alright. The indoor space is a bit small so you either sit at a table for 2 or on a barstool. There is an up charge for alternative milk and there is no bathroom.
My ice coffee was good, but not good enough to wait in a long line for. As, I was staying by a hotel nearby and often saw a long line going out the door. However, the service was excellent, prices fair, and the place itself seems inviting. Cannot speak on the bagels, but they did look appetizing.
We stopped by Spill the Beans for breakfast while exploring the Gaslamp District. The spot is easy to find with a bright exterior and plenty of open outdoor seating — perfect for a relaxed morning. Even though there was a line, it moved quickly, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered the San Diego bagel sandwich and a cold brew. The flavor was great, but the bagel itself could have been a bit fluffier and more toasted for that perfect bite. The ambiance was pleasant with music at a comfortable level, though the sound from the bar next door sometimes spills over, especially if there’s a game on. Food: 4/5 – Great taste, slightly dense bagel. Ambiance: 4/5 – Nice vibe but a bit noisy. Service: 5/5 – Fast and friendly. Overall, a great spot to grab coffee and breakfast before starting your day in downtown San Diego.
Ordered from door dash… a bit pricey but I Got a bagel sandwich that was basically untouched by the toaster—why is toasting not standard for these guys? Luckily I was home, Three minutes in the air fryer later, the texture and flavor were totally transformed into one of the best bagels I’ve had in SoCal. And I’m from New England, so that’s basically the highest carb honor I can give. We also got The sun-dried tomato bagel with chive spread… it was next level!
Cool atmosphere, like the Coffee Pot theme. The bagel order requested 'toasted dark' yet served warm (presumably steamed, not toasted). The second bagel was a specialty gruyere and onion but it did not have any flavor punch, okay but could've been much better Coffee and Cocoa were of good quality and hot.
