Veranda Restaurant & Bar San Diego Reviews
Veranda is hands down one of my favorite spots for breakfast with friends! The place is super stylish and cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere to start the day. One of the best things about it is the stunning view—overlooking a beautiful golf course with fountains and serene water features. The food here is absolutely delicious, and their cocktails are on point! Every dish is high quality, fresh, and well-prepared. The vibe is elevated even more by the relaxing music and the incredibly friendly staff, who always make you feel welcome. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of food and overall experience make it totally worth it. I absolutely love coming to Veranda for breakfast with my friends—it’s always a great way to enjoy a fantastic meal in a beautiful setting!
My high school friends and I had a get together lunch. The view is amazing, food is delicious, and service is great. Our server is very friendly and professional. We love the drinks that we ordered. It was a wonderful place to spend a lovely afternoon in Rancho Bernardo. We will come back.
Had an awesome brunch at Veranda. The birria chilaquiles were insanely good—perfectly crispy with just the right amount of spice. Also tried the bacon cinnamon roll, which was a killer combo of sweet and savory. Portions were huge, so if you're not super hungry, definitely consider splitting. Shoutout to Louis, our waiter, who was awesome. He noticed we were getting a little too much sun and brought over an umbrella without us even asking. Super thoughtful! Overall, great food, great service, and a super chill vibe. Definitely coming back!
Great food, beautiful views, fantastic service. I have zero complaints about this spot. Enjoy a nice shaded meal on the patio and watch some golfers tee off. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose here
We went to have dinner for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was outstanding and live music was beautiful. Our server, Joseph, was very attentive. We had very good time. 100% recommend.
Absolutely serene atmosphere here! Great covered patio dining as well as a bar inside. They have numerous patio heaters throughout the patio area. We ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich on a Brioche bun and side salad which was very tasty. I had their Seared Salmon Market Salad which was perfectly prepared with fresh veggies. Large wine selection is available by the glass or bottle. Very attentive service. Great find! Numerous handicap parking spots were available as well as 4 EVCS Level 2 chargers with the J1772 connector. Wheelchair accessible ramps, gas fireplaces. Wonderful views of the golf course!;
Sit by the fire place, enjoy the beautiful nature scenery and golf course. The service is wonderful.
I went here for a work function and had a awesome experience. It was about 12 of us and they were easily able to handle our group. There was live music that was a perfect match to the tranquil and serene ambiance. The table had flatbread, Brussels sprouts and wings as apps. All were delicious and flavorful. For the main course I had rigatoni and for dessert I had peach cobbler. Both were great!
Historic area. Definitely reserve time to walk around and enjoy the views. The food itself has a small menu. The price tag is quite hefty but the food is delicious and the service is phenomenal.
Loved this beautiful place and all it's outdoor seating. There are heat lamps and the huge fireplace so always comfortable temperature-wise. They have a simple dinner menu with good food. We had mussels and fries, a very delicious burger and some nice cocktails. The dessert was also delicious, lava cake and bread pudding.
The setting outdoors on the patio overlooking the golf ⛳️ course is superb. Our server was excellent. Brunch was delicious. The Rancho Bernardo Inn is a beautiful spot in San Diego County with great weather!

Very nice restaurant and the server (Michael) was awesome! The atmosphere was elegant, the food came fast and delicious and the wine recommendations were spot on. We had a very nice evening.
Beautiful views, great ambiance, ok food, live music was nice, fireplace and couches available for drinks. Would give them higher stars but JOSEPH service was really slow and never refilled drinks when we requested or brought sauces we requested. Food was good but not great. We had salad and chicken. I would recommend this place for drinks and ambiance but would eat somewhere else if you want better service.
I brought my girlfriend here for mothers day. I haven't been to the inn in 20 plus years. The hostess gave us the best table in the house, outside the view was fantastic. Kayla our server was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive and genuine. She really made our visit special. The food was okay, nothing special. Thank you Kayla.
A great place for a great breakfast. Very comfortable and ideal for long conversations. The service is right on time (as opposed to those waiters that circulate on plutos orbit and you never see, here they are on yours). The green chilaquiles are delicious, I like them with extra cilantro. Very good coffee and well prepared drinks and cocktails. For a hungry morning, the good morning burger!
The atmosphere was great, the food was okay yet nothing special or that you wouldn't receive at your table at a local chain restaurant. At least for lunch, perhaps dinner is better? Our server was a professional young man and seemed very sophisticated. I would go once more at night to see if there is a difference in their food.
Beautiful atmosphere for a morning breakfast. There were a few hiccups in service. They used green goddess salad dressing instead of salsa verde in my Chilaquiles by accident (which was corrected after Sara checked back in after a few bites). I wasn’t provided new silverware when my back up dish came so I had to swoop a set off the table next to me. The salt shaker was empty so I grabbed off the same neighboring table. Basic mistake, the dinner crew just need to make sure they do side their work post shift. I will be back for sure, the rest of the menu looked great.
Came here for lunch on a spa day at the resort and really liked the place. Nice aesthetic with the view of the golf course on the side. Loved how it was actually outdoors and like a veranda! Guava Mango Refresher was beautiful! Husband and I were both surprised. Guava and mango flavor both came through and in the perfect balance. Market Salad was really fresh! We asked for dressing on the side and grilled chicken instead of salmon. Everything went perfectly well together! Candied walnut, blue cheese, all the berries were so perfect together. Also really appreciate how they plated everything with the ingredients. All separated out. Made it very pretty. California Avocado Toast was also very fancy! It was guac instead of smashed avocado, a good amount of greens and tomatoes on there, which we definitely appreciated. Got a poached egg on the top. Skipped out that olive oil drizzle because we didn't want the extra fat but it was not needed at all. 10/10 Recommend having the sauce that it comes with. The guac flavor can be a little bit overpowering with just the bread and egg otherwise, but with the sauce.. It is a total game changer! Really loved this one. Short Rib Flatbread was a 3/10 Ingredients said shallot, mozzarella, roquefort dressing, habanero honey But they were so so much barbecue sauce! The short rib was cooked in barbecue sauce, but there was no mention of this at all. This tasted essentially like a barbecue short rib flatbread. I'm not a fan of that flavor so this was a little bit sad. Too sweet for me. I was hoping for the sweet and spicy vibe with the habanero honey but none of that came through. Had to ask for extra crush to reflex and also took off most of the barbecue sauce with my knife.
With restrictions loosening up a bit we've been trying to find new outdoor local spots to hang out. We have been to Veranda in the past but not for a while. I remember their dinner was decent, was crowded so it was a different experience. We stopped by for lunch, still busy but we were seated right away. This was a first where we've been brought a bottle of water in lieu of glasses but it was quite nice. Staff was great from being seated to service. My husband got the Ahi Tuna sandwich and said it was delicious. I opted for the margarita flatbread which was tasty as well, like a woodfire pizza. Standard beer and vodka club soda to drink. Clean, friendly staff, fairly reasonably priced, an overall great place.

We had reservations, so no wait. Paid for valet, free parking lot was pretty full (went on a Saturday). Food was okay. Had steak and eggs, lobster roll and cast iron cinnamon roll. I felt our waitress was prejudiced against me and my friend. She asked if we were guests/had a room, I said no. She said "don't put it as a room charge." As if she thought we were going to dine and dash. Her demeanor changed when she saw my AmEx. Was considering this venue for an event. But it wouldn't be the place for me.
I would give the location 5 star because it was in a beautiful golf course. Service is just okay. We were celebrating a bday and placed that on our reservation, but nobody paid attention to it. We don't want any free stuff but somebody acknowledging it shows that you are paying attention to your customers. Food is not worth the expensive price and small amount. Husband order a steak salad and there are maybe 5 small strips of steak hidden under the salad. Lobster roll just okay. Presentation is not appetizing. Not impressed with the food choices on brunch menu.

The food was delicious, and the staff were both professional and friendly. Unfortunately, my baby boy had an allergic reaction after eating eggs there, even though he is normally not allergic to eggs. I don’t want to place blame, but it would be very helpful if all ingredients—including the types of oil used—were clearly listed, and if extra care were taken to thoroughly clean the pans before preparing the next dish.
