Anina San Francisco Reviews
Loved the vibe of the place. It was jampacked on a Friday night. Thankfully, they were some seating outside, so we could grab some seat. The cocktails were great and also not as pricy as I was expecting them for San Francisco. I can’t recall what I got, but it was something herbal, and it was fantastic. I’m not sure if they have food because we didn’t really order any. The service was swift. Overall, a great place to grab cocktails.
We stopped in Anina during our first time exploring Hayes Valley and found their large outdoor patio super inviting. Although they were super busy and only had two bartenders on staff, both bartenders were super friendly and attentive and provided great service. This place has a nice low key vibe and their reasonable prices for cocktails with good ingredients is a plus also. My partner ordered the Vernal Pools while I got the Fool's Gold. The Vernal Pools had a nice combination of flavors with the tequila, apple, ginger and chili coming together nicely, although the drink didn't have as much of a heat kick as we were expecting. The Fool's Gold was also nice and refreshing, with the whisky, turmeric, ginger, and Benedictine providing a nice light but also complex flavor.
Amazing patio and in the heart of Hayes Valley! The punch bowl and outdoor space is so fun for groups.
First of all, it’s an amazing restaurant and bar. We love hanging out here - the patio area is great. More importantly, the owner or the friend of the owner is the owner of Jasper - the lovely home Parrot that hangs out around here. He’s so cute and petty, we just can’t get enough of him. Check of the photo and video.
Great vibes at Anina! I went there for a Saturday night with my friends, we loved the chill and cosy atmosphere with the beautiful lights. They have a cute little space and drinks are fun. Service is great and would love to visit again. Definitely deserves a 4/5 stars!
Updated review - 9/23/22 (+) Still amazing! :) (+) Negroni slush (+) Royal Scam (+) Doggie Trucks is adorable (+) Bartender was super friendly and attentive (we sat at the bar) Original review: (+) Outdoor and indoor seating available, dog friendly. (+) Great cocktails (+) Friendly service Definitely gets crowded so I recommend getting there early.
Holy smokes - I haven't had that much booze in one sitting in quite a long time. The occasion celebrating my friend's new found independence, and celebrate we did. There are two areas to Anina - an outside deck that is heated but closes around 21:00, and the overly cramped but cool vibes indoor where the bar is situated. We started our night outside before moving in and were able to snag a table for our midsize group. Anina serves up some massive punch bowls, which back in LA, we used to call em scorpion bowls cause they pack a punch if you aren't careful. We ended up ordering two - not at the same time, but definitely could've reconsidered given how strong the first one was. Lots of fun, drinks, and good times when you're in good company. I'd definitely return to try some of their other cocktails and maybe just in a glass (or two) this time. I'm no longer in my 20s after all, lol.
Right off of Hayes street. Came on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. Nice outside patio area. Good vibes. There is a wide variety of drink options and they are all aesthetically pleasing.
I hadn't been here since before the pandemic and I was so excited to see how their already sizeable outdoor seating has grown so much more! Love the vibe of this spot, super friendly staff, super cool design and the drinks are top notch. We were planning to only go for one drink but they were so tasty that we had to stay for another!
Outstanding cocktails, great ambiance, and skilled friendly staff. Great spot to grab a drink in Hayes Valley.
Their outdoor seating has heating! Such a cute vibe and bartenders are hilarious. Highly recommend the lagroni’s
Even on New Year's Eve this was still a great bar to sit down and have a drink at. It's a little lower key than a few other bars around the area that I personally enjoy that. It's also a dog friendly bar if that's what you're looking for. Great outdoor seating during work nights as well.
Popped into Anina and, let me tell you, their punch bowl is a party starter. We went for this vibrant purple concoction, served up with a citrus twist – each sip was a fruity, refreshing delight. The bowl itself was a centerpiece, inviting us to dip in and share stories. Anina's got that laid-back, friendly bar vibe that's perfect for unwinding with friends. Whether you're here to kick off the night or cap it off, grabbing a punch bowl at Anina is a must-do

The cocktails at Anina are amazing! I recently visited San Francisco for the first time and Aninas was recommended. I’m a fan of cocktails and they sure didn’t disappoint. The service was great. Highly recommended!
This is a great cozy neighborhood bar, with a fantastic list of cocktails as well as non-alcoholic options. A perfect place to catch up with friends or take a date.
Great vibes! Great service. Very welcoming and eclectic mix of people. Music selection is awesome.
Came in for some cocktails with friends! We had our pup and the patio was closed but there was seating out my the street that was perfect.

This place is a complete joke. They take themselves way too seriously for what it actually is—an overpriced, overrated spot trying desperately to feel exclusive. Everything is ridiculously marked up: $10 for a basic beer? $78 for a punch bowl that tastes like watered-down juice? You’d expect top-tier service and atmosphere for those prices, but instead, you get pretentious vibes and staff who act like they’re doing you a favor by even acknowledging your presence. And let’s talk about the so-called “vibe.” There’s a guy who looks like a washed-up surfer—clearly trying to hold onto some long-lost youth—who was beyond rude. He hovered around us all night trying to make us feel like we didn’t belong, despite the fact that we had already dropped a decent amount of money on drinks. His passive-aggressive attitude and weird energy were not only unprofessional but downright pathetic. It’s almost like he gets off on making people feel uncomfortable so he can play gatekeeper at a place that, frankly, isn’t worth guarding. Save your money and go somewhere that actually appreciates its customers and knows how to run a business without the ego trip. This spot is all hype, no heart, and an overpriced waste of time. Avoid it.

Incredibly rude bartender/ manager Lauren who profiled me immediately when I walked in and took a seat, demanding that she see my ID if I wanted to be in the restaurant at all. When I calmly expressed a desire to wait for my friend as I was just getting settled and would show her my ID in a bit, as I had not even looked at the drink menu or expressed an intention to order yet, she demanded that I leave. I expressed discomfort with the way she approached me. And she rolled her eyes, turned her back towards me and walked away. An entire group of individuals walked in at the same time as me, and not a single one was demanded to show their ID within the first minute that they walked in. Of note, non of these individuals were people of color. I am. Would not recommend this establishment, there are several other nicer bars with bartenders in the area who display basic decency and do not profile their customers, moreover in such a rude manner. If you’re going to demand IDs for customers to even be in the restaurant, do it at the door and expect that from everyone to eliminate bias and overt racism. Period.
