Bursa San Francisco Reviews
So good! I loved the combo appetizer since you get to try a little of everything. I really liked the hummus sunce it wasn't too salty for me. But in general everything on the combo plate was amazing. The goat cheese stuffed falafel in my friend's falafel salad was also really yummy. Also recommend the garlic lemon salmon, grilled shrimp kebobs, and mixed grill kebab's. For dessert I recommend the knafeh/kunefe but I just really love knafeh. The creme brulee was just okay.
Wonderful Middle Eastern restaurant! Short jaunt down from West Portal Station- their falafels are amazing, and if you have trouble deciding what to get the combo appetizer is a great start!
I’m always looking for a good falafel wrap in the city and this was definitely a winner. The pita was not thick but still soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The pickles were a sharp contrast to the falafel and tahini sauce. The pistachio rice had just the right amount of sweetness and my mom loved the flavors in the prawn appetizer.
Stumbled onto this place and didn’t even look at the reviews! Food is so yummy and tasty! Had the falafel salad and eggplant, flavors were amazing and fresh! I would highly recommend! Will definitely be back!
Enjoyed a lovely lunch here — the staff was always very friendly and came with a smile on their faces, very attentive ex: water was regularly filled. Food tasted quite tasty and came out quickly too. Everything was perfect, definitely recommend especially if you are a vegan 😇
The food was truly exceptional! The kofta offered a delightful blend of flavors and textures that were very unique. The shrimp kebobs were cooked to perfection, showcasing their natural sweetness and juiciness. I haven't had food this good in years! Try the dessrts, chocolate cake and baklava are amazing!!!
TLDR: affordable prices with high quality food and very friendly service!! We came here at 11:00 for lunch and there was no wait. We ordered two coffees, an appetizer sampler, a Greek salad and two kebab plates for four people. The Turkish coffee was strong, the appetizer sampler came with pita bread and was very nice and the beef kebab came with some amazingly tasty and well cooked meat. For four people after tax and tip, it came out to $94 which is a steal in this day and age, only $23 per person! Highly recommended and great service as well
Delicious food, everything on their appetizer platter felt like it had an authentic taste. At the end, I wasn't a great fan of their kebobs but everything else was so tasty. I will come back to try more. Def. recommend their red lentil soup.
Just had a late lunch here today, met my Mom and we had a great time here. Staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. Lamb wrap : excellent !! Falafel: little dry but okay. Cigar cheese filled appetizers are soooo good !! Enjoyed the lentil soup. ***Just a note- when going to the ladies/ men’s room, there’s couple steps down. I helped my Mom - since she walks with a walker. Just be careful. Thank you, from the East Bay!! Calming atmosphere - quiet, lights are dim, very cute cozy place. —————————————————————— 6-29-22 Have visited so many times! Love this restaurant. For dinner tonite had halibut over rice- a little dry but still very good, kefir cheese, cigar pastries and feta prawns. Also, rice pudding was yummy- not too sweet. Wonderful friendly atmosphere!!!! Will visit again from WC. Cheers, N
Our group of two couples had a great double date night at Bursa. The ambiance is one of a neighborhood staple with mixed groups all enjoying a nice evening. This was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the food. For appetizers, we enjoyed the mezze platter (all of the salads/dips were delicious), falafel and dolmas. For entrees, the rack of lamb was the standout dish — excellent quality meat and cooked perfectly, paired with delicious rice. Two of us got the “moussaka,” which I have to say was not at all what I would consider a moussaka, though it was still good. It had no meat and came in a giant bowl topped with tomato sauce. For dessert we all split the kunefe and chocolate cake that were both tasty and hit the spot. The service was good throughout and we always had what we needed. Would absolutely return and recommend it to others!
We went to this Mediterranean restaurant in SF. The ambience is good. There is indoor seating only. There is meter parking available right along the street of the restaurant. We ordered the mezze platter for appetizer and I ordered the veggie moussaka for mains. The mezze platter is fully vegetarian and provided samples of the veggie appetizers available. In the platter I really loved the Hydari ( greek cheese with yogurt and lemon) and the Mercimek kofte which is a red lentil preparation with Bulgar wheat. I have never had these before and the flavors really great. The falafel and the hummus and the baba ghanoush were also really good. The moussakka was rich and the veggies had a great flavor and were seasoned properly. Overall the food and ambience were really great.
Had an excellent dinner here with good friends. I got the Samaka Harrah Halibut, which was tender and flavorful. The asparagus was perfectly done as well. My wife got the Combo appetizer as her main course, which she really enjoyed as well. For dessert, we got the Marquise au Chocolat, which is a must for chocolate lovers. Service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a casual vibe that is open and inviting, but would still be good for more intimate dinners. Yet another great restaurant in West Portal!
Chicken Stroganoff and baklava were delicious and very generous. I was fortunate to arrive a little earlier and be seated, before this cozy and popular place was packed with patrons. The staff greeted and took care of me as a very precious guest.

Very good service! Excellent atmosphere! Food is five stars! Recommend our dishes, the Mussaka and the Mixed Grill Plate!

This place is always busy. But I always feel special when I come here. There are a few Mediterranean menu items I have only found here. I recommend the Lamb chop medallions the Shish ka bobs and of course the amazing desserts. There is also outdoor dining for those perfect San Francisco nights.
We ordered a combo appetizer and a Greek salad to share - everything was AMAZING! I don’t even like falafel, but the way they make it here is fantastic. Everything had great flavor, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We’ll have to stop in with bigger appetites and try some of the entrees, I’m sure they won’t disappoint!

When I came here I had no high hopes and when I finished my food I was impressed. The place has enough outdoor and indoor seating. The servers acted a little awkward but were nice and attentive to customers. The prices are fair and the flavor is good you really should come and try it. My favorite part of the dining experience was trying the baklava and the Turkish coffee. The baklava is fresh and full of flavor and the coffee is strong you can choose to have it with or without sugar. I can't wait to come back here.
Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Overall: A solid place to come to for a good meal in the neighborhood. The extended review… Food: Beyti - 3.5/5 - This is my go to dish. It does the trick. Who could say no to meat wrapped in lavash? Service: 3.5/5 - Friendly service Ambiance: 3.5/5 - A good ambiance though tables are close in proximity to one another.
I recently dined at "Bursa," a Mediterranean restaurant, and my experience was generally positive. The appetizer combo plate featured delectable hummus, babaganush, and lentil options that I thoroughly enjoyed. However, the dolmas on the plate fell a bit short of my expectations. The red lentil soup was a standout, bursting with flavor and perfectly complemented by toasted flatbread. The spicy Adana kebab lived up to its reputation, satisfying my palate. The food, on the whole, was both delicious and reasonably priced. The service provided added to the overall pleasant experience.

One of great for Greek or middle eastern food. Or they serve European food with a Greek twist such as stroganoff with rice. The fish such as salmon was balance between acidic and tangy. The rice was cooked to perfection and it's jasmine rice. The desert you need to try kunefe. It was fabulous it's filo with cheese filling.
I love this restaurant in a way. Food is good the attitude and vibe is great. I just feel it lacked a little bit of flavor in the meat and mix and portion size for the price. But in San Francisco it’s rare to find any restaurant that has value. The server was amazing.
They serve the meze platter with grilled flour tortillas. The chicken kebab we had was very dry. The pistachio fried rice was interesting.
For those who are sensitive to canola oil, be careful what you order. Waitress confirmed they use canola for almost everything, even the combo platter which should be made with olive oil. Food tasted good but it made me sick for 3 days
