Bus Stop keeps the Cow Hollow bar spirit alive with a twist. It’s been around since 1900. New owners Joseph Wallace and Robert Lemons took over in 2021, ending four generations of family ownership by the Ferroni family. These days it’s still packed with the usual TVs for sports, pool table, wall-to-wall beer taps behind the bar, and free popcorn for late-night regulars. The bar is famous nationally for how much Fernet-Branca it sells, reportedly more bottles per year than any other bar in America.

Nice place and great friendly atmosphere. Very crowded sometimes, but it confirms the level of the place. We enjoy playing billiards there with our friends. Also good beer selection. Cheers! 🍻

During College, I worked the Starbucks across the street. The bartenders from The Bus Stop would come in. I would make a nice smooth espresso with a hint of carmel to start their evening. When I got off at midnight, would cross the street and the gent would return the favor of a beverage to take off the jist, with a hint of mint. A good time, good games with many folks who love sports, san Francisco and sport. Would not change for anything. Almost as good as "the catch".... sooooo wish I was there when it happened but I was too young....

Great sports bar with everything you'd expect and friendly staff.

Outstanding bar, staff, patrons, and sports watching. The regulars playing pool in the back are always nice and welcoming as long as you have common sense and can figure out how the chalk board works (there's always a few random old nags hanging around complaining, but they don't last long because they lose and leave). Lots of TVs with different games on, safe bar in a safe neighborhood. Nothing to complain about except it gets hot in the back sometimes. Probably the most popular spot in SF to buy merch as well. Great hats and shirts. Top tier bar.

An excellent sports bar gathering with fans from every team enjoying themselves. A great spot to drink whether a local or tourist. Always a lot of fun. They made some great additions to the bathrooms, bar setup and outdoor seating.

The bartender Pauly took great care of us! it happened to be his birthday as well and they even shared some cake with us! A lovely place to grab a couple of drinks!

Great place. If you play pool come early. 4-7... Great local players playing there for many years. And it's okay to bring your own cue..... afterwards it is a sports bar on the cusp of the the Marina ...so it is what it is. Could be great for you too. :)

We had a great time there. This was a recommendation from the front desk helper at our hotel. Jason was the bartender on both nights we were there and we had the most amazing customer service and a kick a$$ time. Not only was Jason great, the other customers were awesome too. PS....ask for green olives in your beer (he likes it) bahaha!

Sports bar. Way too loud. Music only got louder and it was standing room only. But everyone was civil! Security had the atmosphere feeling safe. I wouldn't recommend coming here just based on the music volume. My ears were LEGIT RINGING for a quarter hour after leaving this establishment. They did have clean bathrooms with a wonderful sporty theme & service was quick with the drinks. Maybe I'll try it again when it isn't a super crowded Friday night. Definitely a young (20s & 30s) energetic crowd of folks.

Pretty good bar, split up into a couple of sections, with pool tables in the back. Despite the external appearance, it's actually fairly nice & clean inside. Standard Marina crowd, maybe leaning a bit toward the frat-boy side, but overall pretty friendly and fun place to have a drink.

Don't know why the phone wants me to tell you about this place. I have never been there. Maybe it was popular during Superbowl.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at an establishment. I simply needed to use the restroom with my daughter, and the moment we walked in, we were screamed at from across the bar as if we were criminals. They demanded both my ID and my daughter’s ID, and then scolded us for not “asking permission” to use the bathroom. I was shocked at how any human being could treat others with such hostility and disrespect. Even some of the customers apologized to us, saying they were sorry we were being treated that way. If minors are not allowed, there are professional and respectful ways to say, “Sorry, this space is 21 and over.” Instead, we were humiliated and treated like we were less than human—kicked out as if we were animals. Absolutely unacceptable.

This establishment dates from 1900. I am a tour guide and get muged all the time in SF. Today I went there to order a drink and they did by acceot Apple Pay. That is all I use even in the national Parks and never had a problem they even have an atm that does not accept Apple Pay. They are obviously cooking the bookkeeping books. I would recommend IRS to investigate. This is a very legndry place and they make a killng . Please investigate them. Also their pool table are all cash tax free revenue. I used to have a store on Union Street. This is no ok that I can’t use my Apple Pay as.I get mugged in this City and carry no carde on me. I never felt so embarrassed where. I could not order a drink and I was with some French travelers. Please investigate. I am an ils merchant on this street and am livid where I could not order a drink at one of my old stopping ground. Shame on you Gabe. If only your father was alve they would not be cooking the books ..

First time I went here in a while. My friends and I were just hanging out at one of the tables when we see the bouncer harassing this one girl and her guy friends at a table across the room. They were a bit drunk and had vapes, so he rightfully asked them to leave, however then on the way out he grabs the girl, slams her against the wall and throws her to the ground. Maybe they were talking back but still doesn’t excuse that reaction especially against a girl half his size. Very scary moment and my friends and I don’t feel safe coming here anymore.

Not a safe place for women! my friend and I used to play pool there and were regulars. But then a bunch of bullies also came regularly, their names are Brad, Tom and Andrew. They are very rude to the rest of customers and not giving up the table if they lose. They play until someone confronts them to play by the board and then they treat people with poor language. Last night they got into a physical fight with a customer and also talked with bad tone with another. The bouncer and bar owner should ask them to behave but they just don’t care! Definitely recommending Monaghan’s bar or Mauna Loa if you want to play pool!

Mentioned in other reviews: The gentleman with longer hair is usually the doorman here. really nice guy. He wasn’t on the scene today. Just a flannel dude who’s got the worst attitude, and looking for an issue. Bus stop has been a really pleasant bar over the years, but the flannel bro is sure to sour the experience for anybody not wanting to explain themselves to a Pauly D’s less successful cousin type.

Two guys got into a fist fight right next to me and I got the bartender to break it up. The bartender yelled at them but let them stay. One of the guys then yelled at me for trying to get them kicked out and told me he knows the bartender and is there every week. Definitely not a safe space for women/anyone who doesn’t want to be involved in physical assault.
