Casements San Francisco Reviews
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived right an opening and there was no line whatsoever. I ordered the yuzu salmon and chicken onigiri, both of which were absolutely scrumptious! I could tell they were made to order too because the rice was warm. The spam musubis on the other hand were prepackaged and did not look fresh at all. Cannot comment on the sandos or matcha so will have to come back next time I’m in the Mission.
Love Tadaima! Their salted cream hojicha is so good - tried the pistachio cream matcha this time equally good! The chicken sando is the bomb not as heavy as some other places, and love their onigiris as well. Just wish they opened earlier in the day!
I love this place! It's always crowded and there is a big line (and for a reason!), so I recommend grabbing take out and enjoy it at Dolores park nearby - honestly, my best lunch combo:) I love the chicken karaage sando - perfectly balanced in flavor, spice and textures, shrimp tempura sando, and sweet options they have. Just tried the red bean mochi & matcha cream - it's so fun and unusual! The matcha is great! What I love about it is that you can regulate sweetness. Besides milk substitutions, there are a few fun add-on options, like strawberry puree (10/10!), pistachio (will try next time), cheese foam (I love it!). The staff is always nice and friendly. Overall, I love this place and enjoy the food every time!
Iced oat matcha with pistachio cream, half sweet - 5/5 not too sweet, matcha tastes fresh, pistachio adds nice crunch Spam mush I with egg, eel, avocado - 3/5 decent We walked in. Did not have to wait too long for the matcha. All seats were occupied but one clear out soon. You can order ahead online and pick up.
Always wanted to try the Japanese cream sandwich and encountered this place today by accident! Fruits are very fresh, bread is soft, the flavor is just as I imagined how it would be so I’m very happy. The matcha latte is on the thicker side which I personally don’t like but that’s just a preference thing. The pistachio cream is very good tho.
Two standouts at Tadaima: The matcha drinks and the fruit cream sandwich. The matcha latte has a very earthy matcha taste to it which I love. The earthier the better. The drink was not too sweet and well balanced. The fruit sandwich was amazing! The fruits used in the sandwich are kiwi, strawberry, grape, and pineapple. All of the fruits were of the highest quality and were really juicy and sweet. The cream and Japanese white bread were the perfect compliment to the fruit and made for a very enjoyable and refreshing sandwich! It was my first of this kind and I would definitely get it again! The shop itself is very small, so be prepared to take your drinks/food with you, or find one of the few tables/chairs set up on the sidewalk to enjoy. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient.
Love their matcha! my absolute favorite and i just keep on coming back. It’s the perfect nutty taste i crave in matcha with the right amount of sweetness. Their food is also absolutely delicious and overall just my favorite spot!!
I got the Strawberry Cream Matcha and it was definitely one of the better matchas I have had in the Bay. It wasn’t too sweet and enhanced the matcha flavor nicely. I went in the evening around 4pm so there wasn’t much of a wait to order. Would love to try their Pistachio Cream Matcha next!
Their matcha is high quality, the pistachio cream flavor was amazing. The line can get busy though, I got their 10 mins before opening and I was the only one waiting and then within 5 minutes I noticed a line of 10 more ppl waiting behind be and this was on a random weekday so I’m sure they’re crazy during peak hours or weekends.
was really excited to visit this place, and honestly, it did not disappoint. The strawberry matcha chai I had was super delicious. I also had something to eat, the food was really nice too. The service is lovely and the place is small but cozy. This was my first experience here, and the matcha was genuinely great, I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I went to Tadaima to try their matcha, this was my first trip to San Francisco and i’m so glad I went here! The shop itself is so cute, the vibes are great and it feels welcoming. The workers are all so sweet and kind and seem very hardworking! I tried the matcha with salted cheese foam and omg it was so good! The matcha is smooth and creamy, not too sweet and not too bitter it’s just right, the cheese cream was super good and a nice taste with the matcha flavor. I could go on and on about the matcha lmao it was so good and decently priced in my opinion, def worth the price for sure. I also tried the strawberry sando and omg idk what strawberries they use but they are the best 😩, the sweetest tangiest strawberries every with a nice whipped cream that was perfectly sweet sandwiched in between the softest yummiest bread ever. I will say tho it is pretty sweet so if you’re not the biggest fan of sweets I would get something else or share with someone! But as someone who loves sweets I thought it was perfect! If anyone actually read all this ur awesome, go try the treats here it’s worth it !! <3
We went there because I wanted to try out the Japanese fruit Sando. The cashier was very nice. We encounter some problems when I was paying and she was so patient with us. The sandwich came out really fast. Also, the Matcha latte was really good and authentic. The bread were very soft and the fillings were plenty that it feels very rich. The sweet one that we got weren’t overly sweet and the savior one were definitely a must. The environment was OK. It feels very gorgeous on the outside but inside there is only a limited seat they have a couple table that’s on the outside, but it wasn’t a lot so expect to maybe stand if you’re unlucky But the food was so worth it that I believe it’s worth coming. It’s also just sandwich so you can grab them and eat them on your way to go.
Super cute space! Really nice staff and delicious food. Got the chicken curry onigiri and taking a pineapple tonkatsu sandwich to-go. Would totally recommend!!!
I find that the best way to go about this place is to order ahead via their website, take your bag to Dolores park, sit and enjoy! As for the food - this place is pretty pricy, but the sandwiches are generous, unique, and I thought they're worth it since it's not the usual sando as you would get in Japan. I personally really liked the twist of pineapple in the sandwich, I felt it added a much needed moist. The musubi was also good, but not as unique. Would come again!

Absolutely delicious! We loved the tonkatsu with pineapple sando, strawberry and cream sando, and spam and egg musubi. My husband got the onigiri and enjoyed it, but I’m not a huge fan. The strawberry matcha is also very good!
things come up fast! i love the seasonal offerings and the yuzu salmon onigiri and especially the chicken curry onigiri are sooo dreamy! it is worth the wait!

The matcha latte is WAY better than Stonemill. It leans bitter (not in a bad way) and is a little grainy but it’s serviceable. I still preferred Kiss of Matcha, although I truly have yet to find a matcha latte that I find acceptable in the Bay Area. I would slot this in between a “pass” and “would get again” — solidly in the “would drink if someone else bought for me” category. They skimped because I didn’t get a cream top; I would probably say a 3/5. HOWEVER, the chicken filet karaage sandwich was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Life changing! Spectacular! The bread and chicken are tender; the breading, lettuce, and tempura batter all give a heavenly crisp; and the sandwich does not fall apart at all, which is extremely impressive given I always end up with food over myself. Also flattened scallions in a sandwich are genius. I’d probably get this with light sauce again. Order online and bring it to Mission Dolores! What a lovely ambiance.
I’ve been here a couple of times but it’s a great place if you’re looking for a great matcha drink! I definitely recommend getting their matcha with strawberry cream - it’s perfectly sweet and you can taste both the matcha and the fruitiness of the strawberry without one overpowering the other. I’ve gotten their americano with the salted cheese cream a couple of times as well but it’s definitely less sweet and not as good as the matcha drinks. They have a good selection of food as well but I rly loved their yuzu salmon onigiri! There’s a quite a good amount of filling inside and the yuzu flavoring paired so well with the salmon, something I’d def order again if I want a quick eats! Place can get packed but they’re usually quick with their orders :)
Overall the matcha was good but the color seems inconsistent across photos in reviews versus what you get. The hojicha is also decent but lacks sweetness. The food was alright, but I find it ridiculous that there’s a requirement to buy two. At that point - don’t advertise it as 4-6 per and just sell it in a duo with choices. The sandos were alright. I would probably rate the drinks a solid 7.5/10, but the food for the price and mediocrity are 4/10. Service was good! Very small space.
Got the hojicha latte this time and without causing any aversion, it has a pronounced savoriness, reminiscent of dried seaweed with an almost chocolatey note that's delightful. if you're looking for something sweeter, their matcha salted cream is also good. unfortunately, its pretty worth the 7 bucks 🥹
strawberry cream matcha and strawberry sando was so delicious!!! tiny cozy shop with limited seating. wait time was not too bad when I arrived!
ried the iced matcha latte with strawberry cream and really enjoyed it — the flavor was smooth and refreshing, and the strawberry cream was a nice touch. At $8.42, it’s definitely pricier than I’d like, but that seems to be the going rate for matcha these days. I ordered ahead for pickup on a Sunday, which made it super easy to skip the line and just grab and go. Overall, tasty but a little steep on price.

Tadaima is an aesthetic all-green store front with a zen ambience. It's captured major social media attention, leading to long lines since their opening but... it's not really worth the hype. After trying the shrimp tempura, tonkatsu and pineapple, egg salad and karaage sandos, my friends and I came to the conclusion that everything needed more salt. While the bread was soft and ingredients seemingly fresh, the sandos were all lacking in flavor. At $16 a sando, I wouldn't recommend it. I also wasn't a fan of the drinks, but I think there's room for improvement. The strawberry matcha foam tastes a little too artificial for my liking and the hot matcha latte was not whisked well. I appreciate how strong the matcha was but each sip was grainy.
Only giving 2 stars because the jasmine tea with matcha cream was good. The egg and shrimp tempura sandos were okay, but the chicken karaage one looked a little pink (maybe still undercooked?) and gave my friend a stomach ache.
I had the chicken Sando and it was quite disappointing for the price ($18). First the sauce is mustard sauce kinda reminds me of subway? Not Japanese Sando. Then the chicken has the skin on making it super chewy in it and it wasnt freshly fried. Then the spring onion/leek was chewy. And finally, the lettuce really just reminds me of subway… Overall it was underwhelming, even though the portion was not big but I couldn’t finish. Theres not much service in this place anyway, it was a small space and the staffs look bored and cold. Would not recommend this place.

I ordered the salmon and crab onigiri and a spam Musubi and latte. The onigiri meat did not taste fresh. Quiete fishy. And the spam Musubi was also not very good. The place is tiny and I had to eat this in my car because of lack of seating (they do have outdoor seating but it was boarded up because it was raining) so overall not a very good experience. The latte was also meh. Great concept though. And if they did a bit more quality control I would come back since finding a place like this is rare. The workers were also great!
