Manzoni San Francisco Reviews
It feels like you’re getting a home cooked meal in someone’s kitchen. The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine, our pasta was al dente, and the tiramisu was to die for!
Reservations are available on their website and through Open Table. Give yourself time to get to restaurant as residential parking is a bit tough to find during dinner hours. Ordered the Rigatoni alla Bishero and Gnocchi alla Piemontese entrees and they were delicious and flavorful. Shoutout to Mr. Manzoni for taking great care of us.
Our first time here and what a wonderful experience! Everything is homemade and very fresh (which may take time so don’t come here if you are in a hurry!) and the owner is such a kind man from Italy! Each dish was delicious but I particularly recommend the homemade ravioli and desserts! 😉
Such a great neighborhood Italian gem. Just written up as the place to hit in Timeout’s top neighborhoods of the world (Glen Park is #35!).
The server and owner is a wonderful gentleman with a great sense of humor! The food is amazing, fresh Italian food with a wonderful selection of olive oil and pastas. He was also very accommodating for my nut allergies, which is always greatly appreciated 🩷 BONUS: He designed and built the restaraunt himself and paints all of the paintings that decorate the walls! He truly is a modern renaissance man!
Cuter than it even looks in the pictures. The owner was server to all tables tonight. I hope it was just because a server called out, but he was charming. Better pasta alla vongole than Sotto Mare in North Beach by a long shot. Butter. White wine. Quality clams and their juice. Chef’s kiss!
The portions were perfect. The grilled NY Strip was exactly right. The salad was simple yet fresh with the perfect number of Kalamata olives. I could have a conversation without yelling. The service was unobtrusive; we found out later that our waiter was the owner. Just a really nice experience all the way around.
The perfect place to close out the day with delicious food and a charming, inviting ambience. Service is amazing!! Definitely recommend.
I had the Half chicken and it was the best I have ever eaten in my life! Exceptional service, great atmosphere. I’m so happy to have found this wonderful place. We had a large group and it was no issue. I was able to try almost all the dishes and they were all exceptional! Best food I’ve had in San Francisco! Thank you so much.
Ordered ahead on the phone and was told it would be ready in about ten minutes. Came with really delicious fresh bread. It doesn't look like a big portion but I couldn't finish mine. I had the rigatoni with sausage and tomato cream sauce, it was really yummy. My husband had the pappardelle and it was just ok. It was lacking flavor and didn't pack the punch he was looking for that we know from here. But highly rec the rigatoni and gnocchi.
This was the best dinner we had during vacation, what an experience! Everything we ordered was delicious, the wine was wonderful and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere was comfortable and the restaurant was clean as a whistle. If you're looking for vacation defining food this is the place to go.

This was the first restaurant I went to when I moved to SF and it did not disappoint! Their bolognese was mouth-watering and the pasta cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and actually spoke to me in Italian when I tried out a couple words! A cute little place, great for a date spot or even just a solo night out as a treat.
Amazing little spot - with an authentically Italian vibe, perfect for Friday date-night. They make all their own pasta, and it's delicious! If I could give extra stars, I would for the genuine care we got from the hustling waiter (I'm guessing he's possibly the owner too?). Service was both exceptionally efficient and genuinely friendly.
Great place for tasty Italian food. Owner is a super nice guy. We had steaks, burrata & prosciutto, raviolis, and pasta. All excellent. Good chianti by the glass.
Cozy atmosphere. Incredibly delicious food. Served by a charming man who turned out to be the owner. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! It's far out of my way, but I'm making a point to bring other friends to this fabulous representation of what San Francisco has to offer.

The food was good. Felt like family dinner. All homemade pasta. One man running entire dining room. He was great. Definitely got his steps in.

Had Mother's Day dinner and it was okay. We started with two salads and the eggplant with salmon and 🐐 cheese for the table. All were very good. For my entree, I ordered the special risotto, which included saffron, asparagus, and parmesan cheese. I was disappointed because there was not a lot of asparagus. The dish looked very nice and since it was on the special menu, I had high expectations. But it was very skimpy on the ingredients. Overall, rating 3.5 🌟. Since 1/2 🌟 are not allowed, will post 4 🌟.
Came here for dinner with family. Some of us ordered the fettuccine, pappardelle and rigatoni. Food was flavorful and tasty. My rigatoni was too al dente , and actually tasted harder compared to the other pasta dishes. Service was slower but there was only one person, I’m assuming the owner - older man. He was very nice and attentive as best he could’ve been but clearly he needed help so we just had to be patient. The restaurant wasn’t full but he was clearly busy. We also ordered dessert and that was good as well. I would recommend and go again.
Friendly service and food was perfect. Don’t be in a hurry because it appears the owner (who is very sweet) does it all (bartender, server, host, bussing tables). Not giving 5 stars but a recommendation to hire a helper for water, bread and bussing tables just to take the stressful visual away from the customer.

Everything from the kitchen was solid Italian. Not NY level, but solid. They could use an upgrade on the bread. Every great Italian restaurant needs great bread.
Nice atmosphere and family feel. Poor table next to us he totally forgot about. Overcharged us for glass a wine and took over 15 minutes to get his attention to adjust our bill. One server. No hostess , no busboy. One guy doing it all. Come on. Spend the money and hire staff and would have repeat business. Food was good but will not return or recommend.
