Mediterranean Aroma San Francisco Reviews
I liked the turnips they put out. The bathroom was clean and interestingly placed. Great seating. Food was the star! I loved the lamb plate. For 20$ you get two salads, hummus, basmati rice, a pickle, and lamb kabob with onions and spicy paste. There was warm bread on the side too. I loved having the variety. It was a nice surprise to rice and meat from other places. The flavors were very defined. It reminded me of my grandmother's cooking.
Fresh and delicious Mediterranean food at a very reasonable price point. Fast delivery and nice staff. Highly recommend the place. The falafels, the vegetarian platter, and the cauliflower wrap - they were all sooo good!
I cannot believe I have not written a review of this place yet! After searching and trying many different places that are self proclaimed Mediterranean places, we fell in love with this place and have been getting carry out from here on a regular basis for probably over two years now, if not longer! Not only is the food super fresh, tasty, and on the healthier side (although I do indulge and get the fried falafels, which are just amazing!), but the owner/chef is simply super kind and generous, always spoiling us by throwing in a pack of pita bread with our order. We usually get carryout, but sometimes we eat there and it’s spacious, clean, casual and welcoming. A detailed note about the food: We usually get the combo platter, with falafel and baba ghanoush, and red cabbage on the side. The combo platter is simply the perfect balance of non-greasy meat, additional protein in the form of hummus, two fresh salads, the Jerusalem salad and the tabouli, and the most delicious rice ever. It’s such a great balance of carbs, veggies, and meat that I am super ecstatic to serve it to my kids every time we get it. Everything about this place is simply incredible and we will definitely continue to be getting food here for years to come hopefully!
Flavorful food, generous portions, very warm and welcoming staff. First time here but Farid treated us like family. If you want great tasting food, quick service and an owner who takes pride in every dish he puts out- this is your spot.
Delicious food and friendly good people! Big portions with lots of flavor.
Delicious would be an understatement to describe how amazingly delicious the food at this restaurant is. Not only is the meat HALAL, but they have options for everyone whether you want something vegan, vegetarian, keto, full of protein, or just overall healthy food. The flavors are authentic and the food is extremely fresh. The meat is beyond juicy and the falafel is so crisp and the absolute BEST I’ve ever had (highly recommend it with tahini sauce and shattah). Also, the potions are super generous! I love that this location is so clean, affordable, and aesthetic and conveniently located next to Chase Center and UCSF. The owners are extremely kind and humble folks. The service has been nothing but amazing every single time I’ve stopped by here. I love that I can either grab something quick on my lunch or I can invite a friend to sit down for a delicious dinner. I can’t wait to come back and try more menu items!! Thanks Mediterranean Aroma!!
I ordered a spicy chicken shawarma wrap, hummus w pita, and a pistachio baklava. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and intuitive (I was looking at the baklava but I was so hungry from fasting all day I didn't feel like speaking more to order and the gentleman behind the counter asked "and a baklava?" So I smiled and said yes please). The wrap was very good, not too spicy at all really. I didn't notice it being spicy really, but it did have jalapenos in it which was yummy. The hummus tastes super fresh. And the pistachio baklava was the perfect treat at the end. They also had a nice drink selection - even the orange dreamsicle kombucha that is currently my favorite. Thank you! Will be back to try the lamb wrap.
The staff here is so kind. They gave us free falafel and that falafel was really great! We also got the chicken shawarma and the lamb/beef shawarma. The fries were very well seasoned. They have desserts like baklava. Plenty of space to sit inside. They have Arabic music in the background which really gives you a middle eastern feel. Would recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.
Judging by flavor alone, it is abundantly clear these guys know *exactly* what they're doing. It was hard to put my fork down the flavors were just so inviting. I'd love to go in person soon.

Had to share my excitement after a second take out experience with Mediterranean Aroma. I got the vegetarian combo platter and was amazed by the flavor and freshness. The hummus is so velvety, truly the star of the show. Baba ghanoush was hearty with a balanced smoky flavor. The side of labneh I ordered was a tangy, bright contrast to the previous dips, topped with a robust olive oil and mint. The platter also came with dolmas and falafel. Unfortunately, the falafel was forgotten my first order, but was totally redeemed the second round. It was perfectly fried to maintain a crispy exterior with a fluffy interior -- very well seasoned. The Jerusalem salad was fresh and lightly dressed, but could have benefitted from resting in its juices. This dish is excellent as leftovers, which are almost guaranteed due to the incredible portions. It appears that the tabbouleh was made with quinoa instead of bulgar wheat (maybe I'm mistaken), which was a nice change. It was hard to tell, which leads to my only criticism that I wish there was a little more of a balanced grain-parsley-tomato ratio. The flavor was good, but the tabbouleh was a little too herbaceous for my taste. I LOVED the mixed pickle, as it posed as a tasty palate cleanser between bites. As a rule, I always order extra pita. I don't know what the standard pita count is, but they've sent me home with a 6-pack of pita each time. They are generous in many capacities (i.e., the giant chunks of authentic feta provided to crumble at one's own discretion). My impression upon my first pickup was that this is a family business that puts a lot of care and love into their work. The sweet exchange of watching the woman in the back tending to the hummus send her son with a sample to the gentleman manning the grill, his passionate demeanor as he says, "it needs a little more UMPH!", truly warmed my heart. I felt so grateful to have witnessed such a simple but beautiful moment and especially to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Delicious food! The atmosphere is meh with a lot of echoes and constant delivey app beeps. Price range is $18-22 for entrees with side(s).
My midweek go to spot for lunch. I come here often. The falafel is amazing and the lentil soup is maybe my favorite soup at the moment. I could eat it every day.
I've ordered takeout several times in the past few months. Food is authentic and delicious! Quality ingredients and very generous portions. Consistently excellent! Hooked!
Family run place, looks like. Excellent food, The falafel wrap I ordered was very good. Their platters include a lot of food and provides good value.
It is so close to our place that I never got a chance to try it. And once I try, I found a gem in my neighborhood. The food is delicious and filled with, as the restaurant's name says, aroma. Many Mediterranean places fail because they are not bold enough to put flavor and spice in. However, Aroma delivered! I particularly enjoy their hummus on the sour side. The meat and rice are indeed aromatic. This is the place I can go when I crave this type of food.
I love the food here. Nice people and good vibes. Great selection of food if you're vegetarian as well.

The shawarma was great. Finally found Shawarma mixed beef with beef not only lamb. It was kind of dry but overall was great. The owner was so nice. He gave us Flafel because it was our first time and it was good. I will definitely go back whenever I get a chance to go back to San Francisco..
Had their falafel wrap twice and it’s amazing! Get the lux if you want extra decadence but it was a bit too oily for me. Although love the eggplant. The extra pita is so good! Chewy and slightly sweet. Baklava is rly good but rly sweet haha Four stars instead of five because the lamb shawarma was quite dry and the second time the falafels were quite burnt.
This place has some amazing kabobs and shawarma platters. Service is fast and friendly. Best place to grab a quick bite.

(Received via catering service) The first bite was a lot of dry meat, but it got better as I chowed down on the wrap. They don't skimp out on meat for the price I paid. Decent sauce and a nice amount of heat. The baklava was still flavourful though the pastry was a bit dry. Overall nothing particularly outstanding, but a great lunch nevertheless!

Came here with my family and a few friends. We got the kebob sampler combo plate to share between me and my husband, with added fried cauliflower, eggplant, and fries. Total was $34. It looks good, right? Well that's all it was-- looks. The meats were hella dry and the fried sides were pretty bad. Cauliflower was ice cold, eggplant like mush, and the fries were mid. The hummus and babaganoush were fine. At least the portion size was good. The pita was also good. Even though you had to order yourself at the kiosk, whenever we asked for anything at the counter the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They have highchairs, which was a win. Overall, if I were to stop by again I'd just grab a wrap.
Got the lamb shawarma wrap. Lamb was tough and cut like steak. I thought it would be shaved. I asked for spicy, saw a bit of red in it but not spicy at all. Very few tomatoes and onion. I asked for tzaziki sauce, only got tahini. Tahini sauce had absolutely no flavor at all, just tasted like plain yougurt. Very disappointed, did not finish it. Only ate half, threw the rest away.

Did UberEats and got the lamb plate. Have gotten it a couple times and there was items missing in the plate like some veggies and the white garlic sauce. Tried to call the restaurant to tell them they forgot it and would be willing to drive to pick it up. Got told those items never come with the plate and didn’t really try to rectify the situation apart from gaslighting me that it doesn’t come with it. Will not be returning.
