TC Pastry San Francisco Reviews
6/19/2025: 2025 update: Pretty sad TC Pastry in Daly City closed. Now I have to drive further for some deep fried wontons. But today was not that day. I arrived too late and they ran out of fried wontons at 6pm. At least they have the closing time specials, 3 for $3.50. My consolation prize was egg rolls. They were pretty good. I should have gotten more. Good job everyone at TC Pastry. Original review: I've been a patron at TC Pastry for 20+ years. My haircut salon is down the block and my routine is to pick-up some dim sum after my haircut. My favorite items are the egg rolls, preserved egg porridge, fried wonton, Chinese doughnut, various steamed dim sum and wonton noodles. This time, I ordered wonton noodles $6.20, fried wontons $2.85, pork siu mai $3.50 (3 per order) and shrimp dumpling $3.50 (3 per order). The wonton noodles tasted good. I liked that clean soup taste. The fried wontons are greasy and will break apart in the plastic bag. The pork siu mai is great. It doesn't taste good though if it is cold or the next day. Be careful of their shrimp dumpling. Every time I order this, I'm disappointed. The staff is always nice to me. Maybe it is because I show up before they close and they are happy to get rid of the stuff they don't sell.
This is very good dimsum. But the reason why it's so good is the affordability. It's quality food for good prices. The customer service was very friendly. We visited 2 times in the same day, that's how tasty and affordable it was. And the BBQ bun was heavenly good.
This place is great- cheap, flavorful, and fast! It’s takeaway only and they have a ridiculous amount of variety constantly coming out of the kitchen. Try everything ! It’s not going to be the best versions of dim sum out there but it’s definitely going to be good, especially for the money :)
Everything was good!!! Shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai, Brown Sugar Sponge Cake, Hot and Spicy Wonton and Deep Fried Curry Puffs! 😋 Cash Only! 💰💵💸

A go to takeout dimsum spot! I try to be ready with everything I want when I order. They're quick and polite with service.
A Fav place of mine to get take-out dim sum in the Sunset. Nothing like getting a dai bao (special bun) as a nice after-work snack. This place doesn't have indoor seating and only accepts cash btw.
Sold dim sum spot on Irving! Jook + the perfectly made chinese donut were my favorite items here. No complaints from me, I’ll be back soon!
TC Pastry is one of the best take away Dim Sum place in the Sunset district. Especially, the service is professional, staff very attentive, and customer oriented. The food is good, price is competitive. If you buy cilantro rolls that they do not have at the counter, they will make them for you, only about 5 minutes wait.

We love their bake bbq pork buns. They are on the smaller side but the filler was good with plenty of pork, not so much fat and just the right flavor. Not excessively salty or sweet. The bun is thin and not doughy. The bun and the filling balances well with each other. I’ve tried their other items too and they are also pretty good.
Decent for the price. The egg tart is flavorable but on the small side. Sweet tofu was ok The BBQ Pork bun was decent for the price
You know when the menu/ restaurant looks like (pics below), the food will be fire. I stumbled on this place recently and found their dim sum to be quite good, especially the sugar cakes and mango pudding. Overall its no thrills, but very well priced and good dim sum.
Some of it can be on the greasy side and sometimes the freshness of the food isn't consistent.. but that doesn't stop me from going! Overall it's REALLY good, satisfying dim sum, and super cheap! Cash only!
It was a rainy day so I grabbed a bowl of wonton noodle soup for under $7. You get a some plump pork wontons in hot broth. No seating so I slurped it up in my car.

HONEST REVIEW: Service is quick, but quite often you will be rushed when ordering. You can expect your food just a quickly as you ordered, which is great though. Food is pretty good and sold at an unbeatable price. I used to get ha gow often, however, the quality for that changed and every shrimp ha gow variant i’ve tried has tasted stale. Their pork siu mai, steamed pork buns, and chicken turnovers are favorites of mine. This place will get you in and out quickly, and serve you some great food.
The items are pretty decent, not HK quality but good value. Their duck egg and pork porridge is pretty good and over all I come here for average quality items. Restaurant dim sum is better quality but you pay the higher price for that.
Pretty good for take out dim sum. Definitely a good value - three full takeout boxes for $40. I got to practice my Cantonese with the ladies there, but they have a pretty good understanding of English.
Just came in to.pick up BBQ bake pork bun, sesame ball, cocktail bun sweet rice cake. To have with coffee when I get back home.the taste is the same. The price went up.and size of the BBQ buns are now smaller than before. Everything nowadays are like that..just get use to it .

Since the TC Pastry is temporarily closed in Daly City, I came to this location. I don't really order much of their dim sum here because I personally think it's mid. I do appreciate their affordable/extensive menu. What I mainly come here for their Hot Spicy Wontons (5 for $2.85). It's perfectly crispy with a really satisfying curry flavor. The name of it is intimidating but it's not spicy at all. I had 7 of them in one sitting and it was definitely not enough ahaha. This time I also ordered a bunch of other things like the bbq pork pastry, sesame dessert, coconut mochi with red bean, this triangular sticky rice in lotus leaf. Customer service is mid as well. Overall this spot is a solid 3 for me. 03.09.2024 | Saturday @3:40pm

Mediocre dim sum. The shrimp taste like it had gone through some chemical treatment which leaves a foul taste in my mouth and their chinese donut rice roll is not crispy. I like their fried wonton and their egg tart.

Typical nasty Chinese attitude. Old Lady who works there(front counter), she overcharged me and whatever she punches in number, thats the price. Make sure you ask for receipt. Food was cold and not fresh. Totally wasted my time.
