Little divey bar on Polk. Cheap drinks. Great bartender. Not too crowded when I went. Would go again. (Need proof of vaccination September 2021)

Old school San Francisco bar that makes a good solid drink! Marty the bartender was awesome and we really enjoyed ourselves!
Excellent little joint. Good pool table. Friendly patrons. Good staff. Solid drinks. Cheap. Went in on a whim. Went back the next night.
Took my wife bc she from Tampa and was missing private life.
Laid back Russian Hill bar. Solid beer selection! Friendly staff. One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood.
Awesome local spot that’s not too busy, compared to the other jam packed bars down the road. Put on the football game I was looking for and had affordable drinks and beer. Pool table was a nice compliment to the space. Very friendly atmosphere!
My friend and I were visiting San Francisco for the first time and just wanted to stop in and have a drink and a cozy bar. This place was perfect! We had a blast with Marty the bartender - What a fun and cool guy! Looking forward to heading back to San Francisco in the near future and will definitely be stopping by again
Was searching for beers to sink my thoughts during my trip to SF and I was very pleased to meet Marty and his bar ! Good music, good beer and great guy to talk to. Thanks for the good time, I’ll come by again next time in SF. Pardon my french 😉 Bruno
We stopped in here to grab a drink or two and ended up staying much later than planned. Great vibe and good fun, Marty who was behind the bar was awesome and made us feel very welcome. When we are back in San Fran we will make sure to come back!

The bar is of course a wooden ship. I learned that Czechvar is actually a great Pilsner!

The divey spot on Polk Street! Quick service and simple drink menu. Not a bad idea to grab a slice of pizza from Escape From New York next door and bring it into the bar. More mellow than the packed bars in the area although on the weekends it's a free for all and generally pretty busy.
Cool Dive Bar with TVs for sports. It's all clean. Nice place. Last time I was there some toothpick of a white guy cut me off after two beers and a shot. I was just sitting there. Far from drunk. They lose a star for that.
Dive bar close to our hotel. No frills & the cheapest on this street by far. The guy working behind the bar that night (2/18) was absolutely awesome! Very informative. We had a great time in the city because of him. Worth checking out for sure.
Went here twice by myself (Saturday afternoon and Monday night), looking to just chill out by myself (I was visiting). Staff is really friendly and there was quite a few people coming and going, and it wasn't at all uncomfortable sitting by oneself. Apart from that one annoying drunk guy who complained about the bartender, to the point that the woman sitting next to me secretly pushed a small note over to me saying "BEWARE! THIS GUY IS LOOKING FOR TROUBLE!" Anyway, selection of beer is good - they serve a tasty Czech beer on tap and have Staropramen from the bottle. And they have a pool table & juke box.

Buccaneer is a dive/pirate themed bar on Polk with a pool table in the back. It's not a big bar by any means, but people tend to pack in on the weekends. Decent drinks and a fun crowd most nights. There is only one pool table so its a challenge to get on it and once you do you will be dodging people sitting or headed to the bathroom all night. Fun stop as your are drinking your way down Polk street.

Decent place. I went here for the superbowl and thought it was a great setting to watch the game. Unfortunately, there were some very rude drunk patrons kicking me to move and not even apologizing. When I closed out my tab, the bartender tried to charge me extra for a drink I never ordered. When I brought this up, she made a sarcastic remark which I thought was rude. She then checked and fixed it, but I didn't think that she should have made such a remark. I ended up tipping, but in hindsight, I shouldn't have. Won't be back here for a while.

Very raciest only kicked out my sister who’s Asians and not her bf and friends who are white
Would not recommend. The bartender was very rude
hi, just another friendly reminder that this place is known to have handsy owners (from other google reviews) and lets their staff ask customers very inappropriate questions. Don't the the fact that they allow dogs in their bar sway you from thinking its "cool". SO many other bars on Polk who treat their customers with respect.
Kicked me and my friends out because we are Asian - checked all of our IDs and said my Singaporean ID is invalid and that she is not legally allowed to let a person with non US issued ID in there.
