Stopped by on a rainy day and was pleasantly surprised. Despite the line, service was fast and genuinely friendly. The coffee was excellent, and prices were lower than the big-name chains. No pretentious vibe — just really good coffee done right.

I love the simplicity of this place! They have just the right amount of choices without overwhelming you with fancy names and drinks. It’s just high quality food and coffee. The staff is very helpful and they have a clean restroom.

The best cappuccino I’ve had in SF. Incredibly smooth with zero bitterness or harsh acidity. Super fragrant and well balanced. They use Straus barista milk, which micro-foams beautifully and adds a natural sweetness that really shines. The beans they use are excellent and clearly high quality. Bonus points for the cable cars rolling by out front. Makes for genuinely epic photos while you sip.

Visited The Coffee Movement yesterday. It’s a very small spot with no indoor seating or restroom—just an outdoor standing area and a small bench. I ordered an anericano which is roasted at Sint Frank Coffee as their house blend, and it was incredibly smooth and delicious. They offer oat milk only as non dairy option. The only downside was that I wish the coffee had been a bit hotter. That said, the staff were absolutely wonderful—so kind and welcoming. If I’m ever in the area again, I’d definitely stop by. ☕️☕️☕️3 BEANS : A flawless espresso. The Coffee Movement delivered a shot with exceptional clarity, brightness, and balance. The citrus notes are vivid and expressive, and the floral aromatics rise immediately from the cup with remarkable precision. The sweetness carries through the entire sip and the finish is long, clean, and memorable. Every part of the extraction feels intentional and expertly controlled. This is a 3 Beans experience. Best in the world. A benchmark. A destination.

That is the best espresso I've had all year. So well-done. No one is doing it like this. Great selection, perfect extraction, and inviting staff. Love the vibe of a standup espresso bar reading the newspaper in the morning too. This is my new coffee spot in SF

Amazing coffee. Best I had during my stay in San Francisco. I had the Tasting Flight and each coffee was really good, so would definitely recommend and will certainly go back when I am on SF again.

☕️♥️ There’s a coffee shop I always go to whenever I’m in San Francisco, but this time I stayed longer, so I tried Movement Coffee, which someone recommended to me! I decided to get their special latte, and it was so good! Even on a weekday morning, there was a line of people waiting. I also bought some coffee beans ☺️ I’ll definitely stop by again next time if I get the chance. I was so happy to find another great coffee spot, though it’s a bit of a shame there aren’t really any seats to sit and enjoy it.

Australian level coffee. Travelling North America, its extremely difficult to find a decent barista made coffee. This is the best coffee I've had in my travels outside of Australia and is up there amongst some of Australia's greats. Recommend to any Aussie looking to get their fix.

The Coffee Movement in Chinatown is such a gem. It’s a tiny spot but the baristas make every drink with so much care, and you can really taste the difference. I tried their latte and it was smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced. The vibe is friendly and relaxed, with outdoor seating that makes it a nice place to hang out for a bit. It feels more like an experience than just grabbing a quick coffee. Definitely one of the best stops in SF for coffee lovers.

10/10 delicious coffee and friendly staff that held down the morning rush like no others! Reasonable prices also - 2 stunning drinks for $10! Side note: the bathroom was gorgeous! Not a deal breaker for me but worth mentioning.

If you’re a coffee snob this is your happy place. Not sure which cold brew you want? They have a flight so you can taste a variety. They have a variety of other espresso drinks to choose from if cold coffee isn’t your jam. You’ll definitely be judged if you dump a cup of sugar into your coffee - black with maybe a dollop of cream is the only acceptable way to enjoy this coffee. The cafe is small, and designed to enjoy your coffee on the patio. The service was quick and friendly. Recommend if you’re serious about your coffee.

I decided to try Coffee Movement after seeing so many amazing reviews — and it definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered the iced mocha and it was delicious, perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. There was a long line when I arrived, but it moved quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. Just a heads-up: there’s no indoor seating, so be prepared to take your coffee to-go or enjoy it outside. Overall, a great spot for quality coffee and worth the visit if you’re in the area.

Came here from a recommendation from another barista as "probably the best in the city" and from my experience it definitely was. This was exactly what I was looking for, great coffee/espresso, service, and a focus on the craft. I tried to sample as much as the menu as possible. The cortado stood out as one of the best I've ever had and the coffee flight really allowed me to compare the differences between their selection of beans. It was a delight to pair the flight with my pastry. The lighter roast went well and the rounding it out after finishing with the more medium one. This is definitely a spot I'll seek out every visit to SF.

Long overdue review, definitely one of my go to coffee spots in the city. Love their seasonal lattes especially the ginger spice latte. The service here is always friendly and drinks are consistent. There is no seating inside, but I usually like to pick up coffee here and walk down to washington square park or take a scenic walk to abacus row for some window shopping:)

The coffee quality is great here. I like how their menu is simple and refined. I got the vanilla rosemary latte with oat milk and it was a great pairing for the rainy day I visited. The inside is pretty small with no place to sit but there is a small patio outside.

The Coffee Movement in San Francisco is such a gem. The coffee is the perfect blend — not too sweet, not too bitter, just incredibly smooth. I got the ginger latte and it tasted amazing. They were also able to accommodate dietary restrictions and made mine with almond milk, which I really appreciated. My partner got a cappuccino with a sprinkle of chocolate on top, and it was really nice as well. Cozy spot, great service, and genuinely delicious drinks. Highly recommend stopping by!also there not a lot of indoor seating spot so if you’re cold dress warm you seat outside

Tucked in a small neighborhood, you’ll find this coffee shops that serves some amazing drinks. I got a cafe latte, super rich, smooth, and the perfect balance of espresso and milk. Their pastries do run out so if you get there later in the afternoon so better to go early if you’re looking to grab some. Seating is pretty limited as it’s a small space so it’s def more suited for takeout but will def come back soon!

Cute small cafe! Their pastry options didn’t look all that appealing yet you can tell they specialize in coffee. It was nice how there was no extra charge for oat milk in my latte. Both me and my husband ordered iced oat latte. We found both of our coffee to be too mild. We got extra shots. It seems like their oat milk is on the sweeter side with artificial sweetener. Didn’t appreciate it. Espresso was not complex in terms of flavor. It was not the bold lattes we were hoping for. Espresso was too mild and uninteresting for us. Nevertheless, liked the vibe, friendliness of the staff. We went 8:40am on Sunday and there was no line.

I was excited to try the coffee here, but I think it’s just not for me. I prefer darker roasts, and all they had was medium and light roast coffee. My husband got the tasting flight and I got the seasonal cappuccino. We both didn’t care for the coffee unfortunately. I could hardly taste the coffee in my drink, and out of the three in my husband’s flight, we disliked 2 of them. The only one we thought was okay was the house blend. As for the coffee shop itself, it was small and for some reason they don’t let you drink your coffee inside at the two counter areas in front of the windows. If you purchase a flight, it’s “dine in only” but they make you drink it outside. It was cold and sprinkling so that wasn’t great. They do have a bathroom though. The workers there were friendly and helped us order. It’s just not the coffee shop for us.

My family and I visited from Florida and we were very excited to try the coffee here as we read great reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was not so great. Their drink menu is very small as you can only select from a handful of flavors (if I’m not mistaken there were around four latte flavors) not including a matcha and chai which I believe came as one flavor each. Aside from the small selection, my iced latte was horrible. I got a vanilla rosemary latte with oat milk and an extra shot which tasted like water. I could not taste the coffee or the flavor. My husband, and our two family members also got vanilla rosemary lattes (single shot) hot with whole milk and they also did not like or finish their lattes. Lastly, this location does not provide indoor seating. This is great if you’re on the go which we were but I figured it was worth mentioning in case that matters to you. I would unfortunately not come back and would not recommend anyone to come here if you are a true coffee enthusiast.
