Came in for a classic breakfast and had an excellent experience. The omelet with salsa was delicious and the home fries were perfectly crispy. A huge thanks to our server, Enrique, who was fantastic super attentive, friendly, and made sure our coffee stayed full. It’s the great service that really makes this place stand out!

A truly amazing breakfast spot. First time there, and the food options were amazing, very clean, the staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant and the food was INCREDIBLE. 10/10 will be back.

We ate outside. The food was as good as ever. The service was great too. Thankfully the server wore a mask. We're still eating outside by choice but things are relaxing. The food and service are still good.

My friends and I eat here once a week. The food is superb! The sea bass with tomatoes and garlic over pesto pasta is one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten in my life 🤤 The tortilla soup is a delicious daily offering. I've enjoyed every meal I've been served here, and the menu is so varied, there's something for everyone. My friends and I will be eating here every week for a long time to come!

We just moved to the area. So far the best breakfast I've had in San Jose (even though it was for dinner). Wife had flank steak. Very tasty. I had diced linguica and eggs. Corn bread just the way I like it. Fresh bottle of Pepper Plant and waitress Tracy earned their fifth star. Definitely will be back. Since this review, I would imagine we’ve been here at least every other week. I know one weekend when my sister and brother in law was in town, we went for 3 separate meals in 4 days. Tonight I was hankering meatloaf. The wife had the flank steak. pictured are the “mini orders”!

Excellent, steak and eggs is great. Steak is marinated in teriyaki sauce. Lamb chops and eggs is juicy. Raspberry coffeecake is served warm. Place is clean. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors.

The Cup and Saucer is a special place. The owner is an amazing person who takes care of his Patrons. We have eaten here for many many years and love the food. It is a dinner so expect dinner type food but it is fantastic. I am especially fond of his breakfasts. My favorite is the Bacon Omlett with Hash browns. When we go for lunch or dinner my go to is usually his bacon cheese burger. For my wife she enjoys the Cobb Salad. Tonight was great he introduces us to his new desert menu which reminded me of the Ferrell's Ice Cream Parlor. I had the Banana Split and it was incredible. I highly recommend eating here!

I remember coming here a lot when I was a kid. It's nice to see this place doing so well. The service is great and food is amazing. Ordered the spinach omelette which had mushrooms and cheddar cheese. It was delicious and incredibly cheesy. Wonderful place.

I joined an older couple for lunch last week. They are regulars at this classic American cuisine location. VERY friendly and helpful staff who welcomed them by name and served us promptly. Large portions, tasty coffee cake, and bottomless cups of coffee or other beverages. It is nice to see how busy and successful this business is, surviving the downtown times and the closures of our recent history. On a budget? No problem -- you''ll receive lots of well-prepared food at a very reasonable price.

This is my favorite local diner. The flank steak is a favorite item. The staff is friendly and efficient. I would go there everyday if my better half allowed it.

This is a comfy neighborhood diner that has excellent coffee & service, good food, and friendly patrons. The interior could use an upgrade, especially the bathrooms! We are visiting from out of town and had breakfast here everyday.

Great family diner. Airy and bright with friendly and helpful staff. I had the Dagwood sandwich and could only eat half because it was so big, My wife could hardly eat half of her French Dip. Both were $17ish and were delicious.

Family friendly, home-style yumminess!! My husband and I enjoyed great pancakes, bacon eggs potatoes and omelet. We saw that they had fresh baked cakes 🎂 and pies and ooh. They serve lunch as well. I don't remember if they serve dinner. But so good. I love the good ol' home style food and wholesomeness. The staff are great. They are very hospitable and have genuine smiles 😃. It wasn't our first time, nor will it be our last. Thanks 😊 🦋

Went to brunch w my friend. We tried this place. She had the country fried steak and eggs. I had the guacamole soufflé, eggs, and potatoes with a side of walnut carrot bread. This was very good service was great. It’s a little small very cozy. I guess not bad. I’ll be back.

After a looong day of plinking my Buddy and I needed a bite to eat, he suggested The Cup And Saucer. When we arrived I noted that they had booths outside of their building in a covered area. I actually thought the area was part of the restaurant. It was just like indoor seating but better “imo” I ordered the hamburger “med rare” on rye. Comes with toasted home made rye, “that’s right folks, they make their own bread here” Swiss cheese and grilled onions, I added grilled mushrooms. With the sammi you get your choice of Onion rings, French fry’s, or potato salad. I opted for the onion rings. “Onion rings” whole not processed, cooked crispy and there was like no oil on them at all, amazing. “Rye burger” cooked med rare just like I ordered it. Juicy would be an understatement, oh my gosh the RYE bread was soo freakin good..... then the grilled onions and mushrooms with the Swiss cheese........ SHAAAAAA-WINGGG!! Oh and the portions are big, I could only eat 1/2 my sammi “keep in mind I hadn’t eaten all day” look at how many onion rings are on my plate!!! Who does that? These guys do, that’s who. :D “Service” very good, the waiter actually refilled my water 4 times!! Now that’s just good old fashion service if you ask me. “And most importantly they gave me exactly what I asked for”

Food was great. They have a lot of good options on the menu. The scrambled eggs were nice and soft. Pancakes are a good size.

Pros: Spacious, attentive servers, good size portions Cons: nothing looked fresh: hard-boiled eggs were dark inside, side potatoes were dark showing how stale they were

Food is good. Prices are good. A bit of high schooler attitude from one waitress made experience a bit annoying.

The food did not taste fresh nor was it hot. The food was warm and had the consistency similar to what you'd get from a microwave. It's what I'd expect out of a can. The service was great on the other hand with no wait for a table.

When I walked in, I wondered if the restaurant was open. It was dark & way too quiet. This place would benefit greatly from some background music and maybe some live plants, greenery. I had an omelet which was nice & fluffy, but the outside of it was brown. I am a breakfast cook. Eggs should never be brown unless it's requested from the customer.

The food is good but the service is very subpar. Very frustrating place to dine in. We’re always having to ask someone at the cashier station for our server. Never fails when we eat there our server goes in the kitchen and doesn’t return for long periods of time! We repeatedly have to ask the cashier or another server for help. When we ask for help then they go in the kitchen to get our server to come out and help us?! While we’re dining no one ever ask how’s our meal do you need anything else. Again today we felt like a nuisance asking for food containers, desserts and then our check. And this is not just me complaining. Because today 1/19/25 we were there around 2-2:30pm. When I overheard a lady with a severely disabled child complaining calmly to the cashier that they were served only their drinks and no one ever came back to take their order!! That’s the second time I have witnessed that happening here. She and her two children left without eating. The cashier showed no empathy and didn’t apologize to the woman. The food is good but the service is poor and lacking. I see some good reviews about the service. I believe those are from the regulars who eat there often and our known.

We used to love this place. It is a diner atmosphere which is comfortable. But it frustrated me that they are now charging a dollar extra for hash browns if you don't want their country potatoes. They charged an extra dollar during the time when eggs were $10 a dozen, I understood that and knew it was temporary but I can't stand the excessive charges. Just build it in to your price. It seems the place is under new management and we won't be back after supporting this business for the last 30 years.
