A gem in the neighbourhood of Willow Glen San Jose, a place of food for everyone, burgers, wings, Nihari, Tikka, Chapli yummm. We visited last night and had a great experience in tasting delicious Shahi Korma, Tikka Masala and Nihari. Nihari taste is different than what we usually have, but a different great. Shahi Korma was amazing, we ordered it twice as everyone on the table loved it. Tikka has unique aroma, flavorful which opens your taste buds. Will definitely go again sometime soon. Currently they have soft opening, owner said, they will be fully functional soon.
Friendly management. He let us stay and eat after closing time. Talked us through the menu and didn’t rush anything. Really explained and recommended everything personally. He took feedback well and you can tell he enjoyed having customers stay and dine in. We didn’t feel rushed at all. I’m recommending this restaurant moving forward instead of my usual spot. Especially because the hospitality was incredible. The Turkish soda is definitely a must have. Thank you Sam!!!
We ordered chicken biryani and chicken tikka. The food was very flavorful and biryani had traditional topping dressed..such as fried onions, tomatoes and others unlike other restaurants which was awesome! Good customer service! Highly recommended👌 I was gravitated to come to this restaurant as my maiden last name pronounced the same as restaurant’s name. It was a great pick!
One of the best Pakistani/Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, and exceptionally vegan-friendly. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and very accommodating with vegan requests. They were happy to customize dishes, and even made us a vegan raita on request when they realized we were ordering vegan — a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The food was outstanding. The sabzis were deeply flavorful and clearly made with care. The vegan dal makhani was phenomenal — rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The breads were fresh, soft, and excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the overall experience was fantastic. It’s rare to find a place that combines such strong vegan options with genuinely warm, accommodating service. Highly recommend.
We can in a little late on Thanksgiving Day, what an amazing restaurant! Really loved the naan, we got both the garlic and butter naan. The beef kabob was DELICIOUS. Butter chicken was yummmmy. Super friendly staff 💜
It was pretty late around 11:40 when I came still they welcomed with a happy face. I had halwa poori which was prepared soon and taste was simply amazing. The restaurant is neat and the owner it really friendly and nice. Must visit if you are around here!
Really enjoyed a delicious meal with my family! Loved their vegan spinach curry and paneer tikka masala! My mom loved goat biryani; she said the meat was amazing. The breads are great. Friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Lucky to have them in Willow Glen!
We had very good experience here. Great service from our server on a Thursday night. Kitchen staff was also very accommodating. We enjoyed every single item we ordered. Highly recommend this place!
Haji’s Restaurant is a true gem in San Jose! The ambiance is comfortable and modern, making it a great spot for both casual meals and family gatherings. The food is absolutely authentic and delicious — a must-try is their Chaplee Kabob, the special bread, and the flavorful Goat Korma. Every dish tasted fresh and full of traditional flavors. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to often. Highly recommend!
Food was really good, their naan particularly was amazing and their mango ice cream!! They also serve brunch all day which I love. Menu has lots of options for food, drinks and desserts. The atmosphere is so cute inside. Decorated nicely, clean, and the people working there were very kind. They are also open late which is nice. Will definitely be back!
Was there couple of months back. Great veg and non veg food menu. Particularly liked goat and chhole bathure. Value for money. Masala chai is also really good. Parking at back or street parking available.
This is my fifth time at Hajis. The food has consistently been delicious , tastes like homemade and fresh. The vegetarian and the chicken Biryani rice were both fluffy and to die for. The Chicken Tikka masala , and the Shahi chicken Qorma were delicious and chicken was tender. Nihari Beef stew was delicious. The pneer tikka was Yummi. The beef Seekh kabab, was delicious but could be juicier. The restaurant is clean both in the dining area and bathroom and smells clean. The ambience is calm with a subtle music in the background. Overall, great experience I’ll go back again.
It was our first time there. Aman serviced us, let me tell you his service level was up par with fine dining experience. As for the food goes, It was authentic and fresh. The problem with Indian and Pakistani restaurants, they use cheap oil and boxed spices but not in this restaurant. To top it off chef knows what he is doing. We will definitely go back.
Truly a Gem in the neighborhood. We had lamb biryani, beef kabob and chicken. It was all perfect. Tender, juicy and fall off the bone. Will definitely be back again!
Very good food the seasoning was great I definitely recommend coming to this place. The service was awesome too, and it’s a nice ambiance to it as well. Glad that I chose to go to dinner here tonight.
Authentic flavors and delicious food! 🍴 We tried the Goat Biryani, Chole Bhatura, Chapli Kebab, and Chicken Tikka Pizza - all tastes good 👌🏻 ! Staff were super friendly too. Highly recommend this place 👍🏻
We got the butter naan, roti, boneless chicken , beef nihari, and chana masala and literally EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!! The chicken was my favorite it was cooked to perfection 🧡 We went for a late lunch and had the place to ourselves. Atmosphere and service was great. Thank you for the delicious meal, we will be back!
This is a a little gem in downtown Willow Glen. Had the chicken qorma and it was delicious. Could taste the spice over the minimal heat. Also hat chaat, garlic naan, rice, and mango lassi-all of it delicious. Staff are super nice and helpful. Atmosphere-good middle eastern music and the decor is typical for your average Indian/pakistani restaurant. Look closely at the wallpaper in the bathroom- it’s The big Lebowski :-)
Coming from L.A, it has been a very long time since I've had food from a restaurant this long, Pakistan food worthwhile for! I don't leave review but this food introduced new flavors thay were amazing, the people very considering, good company, and patient. I would highly insist on choosing them for a good priced meal with amazing quality.
Came from LA, where arguably there is some of the best Indian and pakastani food. This place by far beats all of them. I am not great with spice, but I kept eating because of how good it was! I would give this place more stars if i could!
Great Indian-Pakistani dinner spot! The food was delicious, fresh, and clean. Loved that they can make it mild and non-greasy on request. Comfortable setting and flavorful dishes, definitely recommend!
What an amazing place to eat! The moment you enter the restaurant…you can smell the wonderful food. The curry I ordered was delightful and full of flavor, freshly made and probably one of the best I had ever had. I have tried their Byriani too and while It’s not the best I ever had it was quite delicious. I am certainly going to go back when I’m around the area.
We’ve been here twice in a week now and their food is insanely delicious!! Reminded me of home in the best way possible. Every bite of their food brought us joy! Can’t recommend enough!!
Food was great. I ordered Nihari and kaboob, and both were very tasty. It's hard to find good Nihari, but this place will be my go to place for Nikari. Also the owner was very nice, and others very very helpful as well. I highly recomment this place for anyone who is trying new restaurant.
We randomly found this place. Excellent food. Excellent balanced taste. We ordered the Biryanis, Korma Curry, Seek Kababs. In the menu, they claim that the food is cooked fresh and not from pre-made sauces. From what I can tell - It was all tasting fresh. Entire family enjoyed the food. Staff is great, kind and polite. Checked often to see if we needed anything and seemed feedback. Overall good experience. Thanks guys.
Great food, great service. They are really authentic. I had the goat biryani was amazing
This place is a hit! Food is so wonderfully flavorful. Just the right amount of spices to give a tingle but not overwhelm the senses and drown out the other flavors & seasonings. The service is also incredibly warm & friendly never making us feel rushed and answering any questions we had on the dishes while also giving thoughtful recommendations. Plus they had some awesome music in the background. Definitely recommend and will be going back to try more dishes & their deserts!
For that quality of food - very reasonable prices. I have very sensitive stomach and can’t eat in any place. This restaurant so far has the best chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala I’ve ever tried in Bay Area. Since I’ve discovered this place I visit them 3-4 times a week. Food is halal Atmosphere is very cozy. Very nice place
We checked out the recently opened Hajis Willow Glen today. First, the location is wonderfully right in the heart of Willow Glen. That entire street has such a beautiful old school small town vibe. Parking was not an issue at all. There is a big parking lot less than half a block away so we parked there and walked to the restaurant. The first impression after walking in was a warm and cozy feeling. We were immediately seated and offered Chai. Being from Karachi, chai is a big deal for me. I usually don't drink chai loaded with masala. Chai here was amazingly aromatic and just the right amount of tea, cream/milk and cardamom. We ordered beef nihari, beef seekh kabab, Chapli kabab, chana daal, chicken briyani, garlic and plain naans. One word for the food.. Delicious! Kababs were cooked perfectly. They weren't dry as we find them in most other restaurants. They wre rightly balanced with spices and served with chutney. We devoured them so quickly!! 😂 Chana daal was so tasty. Reminded me of chana daal from restaurants in Karachi. The star of the show was Nihari! If you are a Nihari lover then you shouldn't miss out this place. Nihari had just the right kick that you expect from a true Karachi Nihari. Eating with soft and fluffy naan, Nihari took most of my attention :) Briyani had right level of spices with long grain basmati rice and cooked to perfection. For dessert lovers, kheer will be a must have. Not too sweet kheer was a perfect ending to the fiest. The owner Ahmad Adnan Siddiqui is a pleasure to chat with. He was friendly and gave us good overview of the food. I think that I've found my favorite halal Pakistani restaurant. I would highly recommend it all of you.
I had a great experience here. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with attention to detail. Every dish was well-balanced—not overly greasy or salty—and the portions were generous for the price. The standout for me was the main dish: perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and served hot. The sides complemented it really well, and nothing felt like an afterthought. You can tell quality ingredients are being used. Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Even during a busy time, the wait was reasonable, which I really appreciated. I’d definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food that actually lives up to the hype.
We began with the samosas, chai, and a mango lassi. All were delicious. For our mains we ordered Nihari, Butter chicken, and chicken Biryani. I loved that everything came out HOT and super fresh. The biryani was very well spiced. Butter chicken were slightly on the sweet side but yummy and nihari was perfectly cooked. The meat literally melted. OVERALL it was a great place will come back!
Hands-down, the best Pakistani food I’ve ever had. Everything was so delicious. The butter chicken was out of this world and just the right amount of spicy. The garlic naan was fresh made on the spot. And I’m so glad that I got the mango ice cream. It was top-tier. Will definitely be back.
After a long drive from LA, we were starving and after a Google search found Hajis which was luckily still open at 9pm on a Monday. The service was great, very friendly staff. The food was amazing, arrived sizzling hot and the flavor was delicious, balanced and just the perfect level of hot for my 12 year old. My husband enjoyed a chicken dish while my son and I ordered two of their Vegan choices. We can’t wait to come back!
Whoever is leaving anything but a 5 star review clearly have extra time to hop on here and say “4/5, 2/5” bla bla. The food here is EXCELLENT and I’ve gone twice in 1 week already. I think they’re doing an awesome job and i hope more locations can be opened up in the future!!! 🙂
Haji Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was so fresh, flavorful, and authentic, must try Goat gosth. The portions are generous, the prices are fair. Service was great, Amanjot supported with great customer service. What really stands out is the warm, welcoming service—we treated like family by him. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and perfect for both dine-in and takeout. If you’re looking for delicious, comforting food with great service, Haji Restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our family dinner at Haji’s in WG. The service was wonderful, even though we were sitting outside on a late January evening. We enjoyed butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and biryani, along with basmati rice and naan. My children enjoyed the Turkish sodas and we loved the Karan chai and mango lassi. This is a lovely addition to the WG food scene and we highly recommend paying a visit. My family said it is the best naan ever!
Stopped by on Jan 2nd. The Karak Chai here is incredible—easily one of the best in San Jose! The Butter Naan was good, and the restaurant has a really nice ambiance and vibe. I also tried the Chicken Sheek Kabob; while I loved the veggies, the chicken was a little dry and could have been juicier. Still, a good meal overall.
After a lot of search, I picked up this restaurant but didn’t expect it to be average. Ordered Goat Biryani, and Chicken Tandoori and one Indo-Pak Iranian chai (looks like fusion right, but it was tasty). Quantity wise biryani was less with respect to the price paid, but Tandoori was big platter. Tandoori legs were not made with fresh chicken and it looked like over burnt as well. Below are my ratings, Goat biryani - 4/5 Tandoori tikka chicken leg - 2.5/5 Indo-Pam Iranian chai - 4/5 Service was excellent and i loved the ambience. I would love to go here next time for chai
I ordered the butter chicken and it was fantastic. Great flavor, perfectly seasoned, absolutely a must try. I will be back to test the rest of the menu.
This was our first visit to this establishment. I was craving Pakistani cuisine, and my husband discovered this restaurant. Although the food was satisfactory, we found the owner's behavior to be somewhat unprofessional, as he repeatedly inquired at a single table about their satisfaction while we ordered a considerable amount of food. Additionally, we experienced a delay in receiving assistance with our baggage in retrieving our meals. It is my belief that such conduct is not appropriate and that all customers should be treated equally, especially when welcoming new patrons.
Great environment. Willow Glen downtown is vibrant and full of life. But the food was below my expectations. Tried a goat thali and beef nihari here. The thali had two pieces of dried kababs. The daal was very stale, almost pungent. We told the server about this but he mentioned about a chef change and serving freshly cooked food which made no sense. Paratha was most likely frozen ones - which is not unexpected. The beef nihari was better but it had a giant fat slab and a small meat cube.
