For the first time, surprised to discover that there’s such a delicious Chinese restaurant in South San Jose. I ordered two dishes: one salt and pepper fish fillet, and one dry-fried beef chow fun. It was really so delicious! I truly love this Big Fish Restaurant! I must come here often!

We really enjoyed our meal here. The green bean stir-fry was crispy and delicious, the Mongolian beef was tender and full of flavor, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Definitely coming back again!

I don't write many reviews, but this place deserves one. Great people and great food. It's a hybrid of American Chinese and typical stuff you find in China. We ordered the Eggplant in garlic sauce, think of it like a hot and sour soup with eggplant and no soup, 5/5. Next thing we tried were the Peking spare ribs, as any Asian person knows, always chew slow. They fry these babies up bone in. The sauce was just the right amount of gooey sweet, 5/5. We got an order of their Juicy-pan fried pork buns. It came out a bit deflated, so the owner was kind and comped them for us. He didn't need to, not the best I've ever had, but a good example of what they should taste like, 4/5. Lastly, their pumpkin pie... It's not American Pumpkin pie by any means. Asian pumpkin filling, deep fried in a wet batter. Ate like a mochi, 4/5. Go check this place out. They hustle and their food is tasty!

Surprisingly good food. The pan fried buns (生煎馒头) are crunchy on the bottom, juicy on the inside, and taste more or less authentic. The cucumber salad is quite flavorful and good too. The hot and sour soup is also decent and comes in a huge portion. Overall quite satisfied and a big upgrade over previous establishments at this location.

This is definitely the best Chinese restaurant I have ever encountered. I ordered their takeout today and I was really satisfied! I ordered Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken and the food was still hot when I picked it up and there was no leakage. The beef meat is very tender, General Tso's chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the sauce is rich and delicious. It makes my mouth watering. I will come next time.

All the menu we ordered were delicious. I forgot to take the picture of the dumplings. They are also very good. The service was great. The restaurant is clean and just newly renovated.

I got a menu on my car at oakridge mall… definitely caught my attention! Had some family come into town and wanted Chinese food so I had to try! New place in south San Jose, been open for two months! Placed a togo order over the phone and the woman on the phone was helpful & friendly! Came to pick it up & paid in cash. The place was spacious & clean! They offer lunch specials as well! We ordered pan friend pork buns, sweet & sour fish, bokchoy, salt & pepper squid, green beans, beef chow fun & walnut shrimp all for $134 which is pretty reasonable cause the portions were large. When we came to pick up, Summer & Amy helped us and they were so nice!! Offering water, condiments & utensils. Food was delicious!!!!! Everyone loved it!! I will definitely be coming back to dine in!

The dishes are good, maybe the flavour a little bit light but as a Hong Konger I like light taste stuff. Moo shu meat is great as well as the fried rice. Restaurant is very clean and tidy, the owner is also very kind as well.

Delicious and very friendly. Always worth a stop in to get a meal and leftovers for another meal or two ou of it. Just as good as Taste of China [the location it used to be]

I love their Chinese Chicken Salad. It’s the best one I can find anywhere nearby, it’s a weekly staple. The other dishes I’ve had there are great as well.

A chinese eatery with a variety of dishes, with some classic Chinese-Korean options. I ordered Jjajjangmyeon, Jjamppong, and a few other options, along with the fried coconut milk. The food was good for the most part, but the jjajjangmyeon is definitely not a Korean flavor - it might lean more Chinese (?), so it wasn't to my taste. The fried items were good when fresh. The waitress was incredibly kind and hardworking, with great attention to service.

Ordered string bean beef and salt and pepper fish over the phone for pickup. Food was ready when we arrive. While waiting for pickup, I do see a lady behind the counter making dumpling like food, I'm guessing their dumpling are fresh made? Got the food home, food was decent, portion is big. The string beans was on a softer side, but it's probably because it was packed in the box. Overall it's good.

Hidden Chinese West San Jose and Willow Glen are not the strongest areas for authentic Chinese with a variety of establishments with dated decor and chop suey on their menu But in the corner of a strip mall on Branham, Big Fish Chinese Cafe has potential The menu is standard take-out fare and should satisfy anyone accustomed to more Chinese-American fare However, my eye was attracted to the daily specials including house made Xiao long Bao and Sheng Jian Bao as well as a variety of noodle dishes and regional specialties I stopped by after an underwhelming meal elsewhere and my instincts proved right Flavors were on point and I enjoyed the time taken to construct each item. Prices are a touch more than expected but the ingredients and flavors fit the price point I only sampled a few items but I look forward to trying more 📷 Xiao Long Bao (8 pieces) $16.95 / Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles $15.95 . 📍Big Fish Chinese Cafe (San Jose, CA) Dining is indoor only and credit cards are accepted

Nice restaurant. The menu has all the typical dishes and more. We just tried a few things on their menu, and everything was good. The wontons in the wor wonton soup was really good. There are lots of veggies in it which I like. We also had the pan-fried pork buns. Crispy bottom. The filling was just ground pork, which was good. We just ordered a couple of vegetable items. Dry string beans and eggplant in garlic sauce. Both were great. The portion size was large, which I appreciate. Lots to take home. I will be going back.

Review is for a take out order. Food was quickly prepared and I was on my way in about 15 minutes. The food was generally good but there was quite a bit of either msg or salt in most of the offerings. Both my wife and mother complained of water retention the next day.

The worst ever I had, super salty and oily. I can’t eat at all, so waste of money and time. Update: I've attached my UberEats receipt to prove I am a paying customer, not a "competitor" or a "bot" as the owner claims. It is shocking to see the owner accusing a real customer of doing something "illegal" just because they didn't like the food. My review was honest: the Beef Chow Fun was inedible due to the salt and oil. Instead of taking feedback, you attack your customers. This reaction actually says more about your business standards than my review ever could.

My family and I decided to give this place a try as we've been to majority of the Chinese restaurants in the area. My first impression was mehhhhhhh, not really feeling the decore and the location. Since my wife wanted to give it a try, why not....🤷. We ordered their pan fried Bao: a huge let down. It was hard and dry as a rock, as if they purchased a huge bulk and stored it in the freezer. It was not fresh.... absolutely disgusting. Beef fried rice: sigh....... Absolutely disgusting. No flavor nor seasoning, just too bland. Even my fried rice tastes better than theirs. I literally lost my appetite and wanted to leave. But the wifey said to stay put.....oh well. The entire restaurant was literally empty with the exception of another patron. I can see why.....🤦 Never coming back here again.

The first & last time here..I ordered the Double Mushroom Beef & a side of white rice. Beef a little fatty. Not to good on flavor. I had to add a little hot oil & soy sauce to taste anything. Ive eaten a lot of Chinese food in my time ..this was horrible! I was the only person there & waitress never came to check on me. She was too busy on her phone . I should have followed my gut feeling when I first sat down, that was to leave. Also, when I used the hot oil, the top was stuck because it hadn't been cleaned ! NEVER AGAIN!
