Pizza My Dear San Jose Reviews
We love Lucky House, a truly cozy, family-style small restaurant in Willow Glen that serves up fantastic comfort authentic Chinese food in a very clean setting. We first visited on a friend's recommendation and keep coming back! The food is just wonderful - our family favorites include the egg fried rice, the surprisingly mild and kid-approved Mapo Tofu, the delicious marinated beef shank, and the wontons and pan-fried dumplings that the kids constantly fight over. I especially appreciated how a bowl of their hot wonton soup warmed me up instantly on a freezing cold day. The owner and waitress are always incredibly welcoming, making this a true neighborhood gem we highly recommend!
Visited today for really no reason, just happened to be in a part of town I rarely goto. Overall they are pretty good, great fried rice and chow mein. The pork belly was flavorful with a good portion. Chicken however was a bit off to me but I think that's just my personal preference. Pricing wise pretty in line so worth a try for sure.
Amazing service and authentic Chinese food! I came with a mindset that I am not gonna eat much since I am on diet but got carried away after I had the first taste of the food. I left with an empty plate, if that does not tell you enough, I don’t know what to say. The flavor is so good and made me feel like I am dining in a restaurant in my home town. I would definitely come back again and again. Legit Chinese restaurants are hard to find in the area and I am so glad that I don’t have to go to Cupertino anymore. 超级好吃😋!
Amazing food and Excellent Service! I recently vistied Lucky House and was blown away by the incredible flavors and authentic dishes. The menu offers a fantastic variety of classic Chinese dishes, Everything we try was cooked to perfection. I like the Braised Pork, It is perfect blance of sweet and salty, if you looking for authentic Chinese cuisine with great service. I hightly recommend Lucky House.
Really really great people. Felt like eating at home. Homie, comfortable, diner vibe. Braided pork belly was delicious and the orange chicken I got to go was the best I had in the area. Highly recommend
Love the food here! It tastes like home cooked food and the owners were very welcoming and kind.
The Chinese food is authentic and delicious. The owner and workers are extremely friendly. My family enjoy the dinner there. Highly recommended.
Very delicious authentic Chinese foods. The food quality is very good.

I really like the taste of this restaurant, the braised pork and abalone are very delicious.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food quality is excellent, and everything I tried was bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the wonton soup and beef stew – both were absolutely delicious. The environment is clean and well-maintained, which adds to the overall experience. On top of that, the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a warm atmosphere.
The food was cooked to order and very fresh tasting. Enjoyed the orange chicken and fried rice. Definitely recommend but if in a hurry order ahead.
Noticed this new restaurant on Google so we decided to give it a try. It’s going to be our new go-to place. Everything was fresh and delicious. The chili wonton was one of the best we’ve had, the pan fried dumplings were juicy and cooked well to perfection. The pork belly and tofu had great flavors. The owners were very sweet and friendly. We’ll be back soon!
They've changed their menu since I first went there. Their menu is not as expansive as other Chinese places so I have been able to try most of their offerings. My group got their scallop shrimp dumplings, smoked brisket and cumin lamb. We were pleasantly surprised by the brisket and lamb, they were really good. The lamb wasn't thin slices but rather small chunks. I am hoping that they will do a noodle soup with their brisket!
Very authentic Chinese food with high food quality and subtle flavors. Price is very reasonable given such good taste and service! Highly recommend the rice dumplings, the wonton soup, the pork belly, and the beef roll!
Food is one of the best in south bay. Like everything I have tried, Especially like wonton soup, sweet sour pork, braised pork, barbecue meat and many others. The Owner is very nice, atmosphere great, small but cozy.
This review is mainly for the food quality, since I did takeout and didn't have much of a chance to evaluate the service or atmosphere (although everyone I interacted with was perfectly professional). I ordered the cumin lamb and the chicken/celery potstickers, and I was so impressed! Sometimes potstickers/dumplings have gristly meat, and it doesn't quite taste fresh, but these were so tender. Not a gristle. The chicken tasted like real chicken, and the wrapper had a perfect lattice of crispy, lacy dough where it had been pan-fried. I ate them with a little black vinegar and they were excellent. The cumin lamb came in tender little cubes, which is only possible when the meat is tender -- if it is tough, it has to be sliced super thin or it will be so chewy you can barely get it down. It had a hint of tomato (?) and was perfectly cumin-spiced. None of the food was too salty. I am excited to eat there again and hope it can become a go-to spot for my family when we are too lazy to cook. My only request would be that they list allergens present in each dish.
Such a lovely experience dining here. The staff seemed part of a family and were super friendly and attentive. Tried the wonton soup and cumin lamb, the latter making for a very unique, amazing experience. They said the menu would expand soon - can't wait to go back!
I have been eating at Lucky House for weeks now. It is not your typical Chinese food. It is a very clean, well maintained restaurant. My favorite foods are the pan fried dumplings. The soup is a red borscht vegetable style that is so different from other soups. The brisquit is another one of my favorites. The scallops, shrimp dishes are amazing. Yes, even the pork belly is first rate. Pricing is fair, service is excellent, BUT the star of this whole experience are the Chefs. I have not had any bad experiences with the food. Everything I've tried has been delicious made from quality ingredients. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant that relies on soy and dark gravies. Everything is fresh and made to order. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant.

A new Chinese restaurant opened near my home. Food is authentic and delicious. I love the dumplings and Wonton, but my favorite is the Chinese donut mixed their tomato soup, 100% recommend!

Finally a legit Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood, their dumplings are delicious! We ordered and devoured the spicy dumplings, soup dumplings, along with light fried chicken, braised pork belly (melt in your mouth!). The fried rice was not as yummy as I’d hoped but the staff are 2 friendly older gentlemen, the place is clean with a big screen TV. My family and I will return

The menu offered a lot of variety, but several of the items we initially tried to order were unavailable. It felt like the waitress was gently steering us toward the few dishes they did have, with comments like “this one is very popular” or “maybe try a special,” which made it seem like the kitchen was limited in options. We ordered the crispy duck, which was quite bony and on the dry side, accompanied by a generic bottled sauce—when we had really hoped for roasted duck. My sister ended up ordering the brisket, not realizing it was “Texas brisket” until she was given a different bottle of sauce, which turned out to be barbecue sauce. It was unexpected—and a bit odd—to see that on a Chinese restaurant menu. On a positive note, both the Mapo tofu and the combination chow mein (surprisingly heavy on protein and light on noodles) were delicious. The entrées came with starter soup served in plastic deli containers, generous portions of rice, and a side of bok choy. We visited for lunch on a Saturday. Service was okay—there was only one waitress who was doing her best, but with all but one table occupied, basics like water refills and silverware took a while. Overall, it was a hit-or-miss experience.

First time I wanted to try this place, I called and they said they couldnt take any orders. Second time, I went in person and was told they didn't have time to make my order. Third time today, I walked in at 11:17am (17 minutes after opening) and they told me they aren't taking orders. Okay
