Spread San Jose Reviews
Up until today, I have never spoken to a sandwich. But today, being my first time back to a spread after they closed in Campbell and downtown, I spoke to my sandwich and welcomed it back to my life and belly …and thanked it for being so delicious. and yes, I was speaking to the Duchess, one of San Jose’s most tasty sandwiches ever created. Took my wife and daughter to lunch today and we all enjoyed it. Ordered the potato salad to share and we each got a sandwich. My wife and daughter both had modified standard style sandwiches, and the selection of beverages was delicious. I had the peach flavored liquid death, and my daughter had a Dr Pepper. While we waited for our sandwiches, the gal who took our order offered us a generous tasting of their delicious ice cream. I tasted the chocolate and coffee flavors. It’s so cool that spread is back in, now in Japantown, after we had lunch we walked through Japantown and stopped at a couple of stores, including Cukui and the Japanese grocery store. Bravo spread, thank you for bringing your deliciousness back.
I have been waiting with excitement for them to open up. They have a unique assortment of options on the menu. Classic sandwiches, and also specialty sandwiches that you won't find at other sandwich shops. I ordered the specialty Cuban, and my girlfriend got the classic turkey with ham. They do a perfect job assembling the sandwich, just the right amount of ingredients. It really hit the spot. The bread was perfect. It was fresh and had a great bite. The ingredients they use are high quality. I can't rave enough about this place. Excellent sandwiches. Service is fantastic. I just became a loyal customer, and I will definitely be back. They even have options that other sandwich locations do not offer. They have gelato, floats, and craft beverages. My only complaint is that my stomach is not big enough. I want another sandwich even though I'm full. Highly recommend. Thank you for the great experience.

Double Rainbow ice cream 🍦😍
Came on their first day back in business, and it tasted like they hadn’t missed a day. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious! Come give them a try. May I recommend The Dutchess?
Great sandwich, good quality, great portion, and just tasted really good all around. Will definitely be back!
Great addition to the neighborhood! Love having a quality local sandwich shop with delicious food. The Double Rainbow ice cream and thoughtful drink selection (including N/A beer, beer, and wine) make this place stand out. Highly recommend supporting this local gem!
Generous sized sandwiches, great canned beer selection, ice cream offerings. Plenty of seating. I ordered the Cuban, and it was fantastic.
I was passing through the area and saw that this shop was open. I completely missed the soft opening sign that said "for friends and family" but they still took my order with a smile. The sandwich I got was great and they have a nice drink selection. I'd highly recommend it!
We had a Duchess and an Unkosher, both of which were just as good as when Spread was in Campbell. They really hit the spot! So glad they finally reopened in their own space.

We went to try the new sandwich shop in Jtown. Be aware that there's only street parking for most of the neighborhood. They have a touchscreen to order your food. As we were about to start the guy behind the counter said he could take our order. I ended up getting a triple threat, and my wife got a turkey and cheese. We also got some drinks from a very well stocked cooler. A nice variety of different drinks. We decided to eat inside, even though they have a few tables outside. The guy quickly brought us out our sandwiches.my was packed with a good amount of meat. I felt it was a good value for the price. Definitely want to try something different next time with a different bread.
Great sandwiches and vibes! I love the outdoor tables where you can enjoy your meal and people-watch. Just wish they could speed up the food prep a bit—this isn’t the place to go if you’re in a hurry.
I think this spot is a solid choice if you're in Japantown and craving sandwiches. It offers a good variety of options, including two vegetarian ones, plus ice cream, soft drinks, and beer. You can sit inside and enjoy your meal, or they also have a couple of tables outside. My choice was the "Humpty Dumpty" (egg salad, dill, Roma tomato, mixed greens, sliced wheat). My friend chose the "Cuban" (roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, sliced pickle, yellow mustard, olive oil, sweet roll). Both sandwiches were tasty and filling. I would recommend offering condiments or sauces to complement your order. Something to keep in mind: they charge a 3% fee for card payments, but they don't accept cash.

Good sandwich but they used the heel slice of bread. I've never seen that at a restaurant before.
