Thai Spice San Jose Reviews
We came to Thai Spice on a Wed night. There was no wait and 3 other people seated. They always greet us with smiles, and they are very pleasant. When reading the reviews and looking at the poor quality photos, I think they are getting a disservice. We ordered Chicken Satay and Roti (unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo, so I had to lift one off the internet). The Satay is fresh and delicious. The condiments that come with it are also very tasty. The Roti was warm and flakey. The same peanut sauce that comes with the Satay comes with the Roti. It's thick and not watered down like another reviewer stated. Our entrees were Chicken Ra-Na with Broccoli instead of spinach (the guys favorite-fresh thinly sliced chicken and broccoli perfectly cooked with a thick peanut sauce), Pumpkin Curry - Veggie - medium spicy (always delicious - super fresh and loaded with veggies. The pumpkin squash is cooked so it falls apart in your mouth) hopefully someday it will get back to being served IN the kabocha, 😊 and Spicy Spaghetti - Veggie - medium spicy (fresh and delicious - think of it as Thai tasty chow mein with lots of delicious healthy veggies and not greasy like chow mein). We ordered white rice and shallot rice. The shallot rice is cooked in the pan with the shallots, so it takes on a crispier texture and darker color. We loved our meal. We didn't appreciate the loud table next to us of two women complaining about the price of the peanut sauce and how they don't eat rice or noodles (not sure why you would come to a Thai restaurant then). But it wasn't the restaurants fault for their lack of situational awareness. We've always loved Thai Spice and have never had a bad meal there or takeout. The pandemic REALLY hurt their business, so please give them a try if you're in the area. ❤️
Very good Thai food. Would order everything a bit spicier especially the beef salad. They are very well organized and prepped for take out. Will be back.
Today I ordered the Angel wing for the first time and it was great. Tasty and well served. It was a to-go order. For now there is no dine in option all order are to go. I recommend to order ahead.
We come here pretty often. Price is good, food is great! Friendly staff. Quick service without feeling rushed.
Amazing food, service and everything! I tried the angel wings, wontons, pad tai and the coconut soup! Finishing it up with mango sticky rice!!
Food is great! I asked them to make it thai hot 🌶🔥 it didn’t disappoint! Thanks for a great meal!

The food and the wait staff are the best! My husband and I really enjoy the crispy egg rolls and the chicken pad see eu. Don’t let this gem leave Willow Glen!
Has been a customer for a while. Prices of the items on the menu have increased a lot the past couple of years. The food is still good. I like roasted duck curry, spicy crispy catfish, and chicken pad Thai. I called the restaurant and picked up the order by myself Reason: I want to avoid unnecessary fees from the third party if I order my food online . I have ordered through the website powered by the third party and found that I paid $6 more.
Love this place. Staff is the sweetest and always so welcoming. Food is beyond delicious. Def always leaving with a happy belly and soul.
We were visiting the area from out of town and needed takeout without dairy. I wasn't very hungry and ordered the tempura fried veggie appetizer. I don't eat Thai often, but those were a great advertisement. The onions were better than any onion rings I've ever had. Carrots and zucchini too. Would definitely rerurn for those.

Really great meal One thing I will say is that the façade does not match the interior, which actually comes off as a little upscale. Inside is a bit intimate but pretty nice overall. At first my experience wasn’t too positive as we were not acknowledged or seated for a solid 15 minutes after we walked in and it took awhile for our order to be taken and food to be served. The food however was quite excellent and I could have ate so much more than we ordered and made the entire experience worth it. Some of the best pad Thai with chicken I’ve ever had so would highly recommend. Stop by if you’re in the area!
Ordered on a Sat night via Doordash. Food arrived hot and within the estimated time. Asked for the chicken yellow curry with rice - was appropriately flavored and was not spicy. Chicken was moist and and well cooked. Pad Thai was what was to be expected, nothing special but good. And the tofu spring rolls were good as well. Overall, decent dinner for the price albeit no true awe factor.
Monday night DoorDash/delivery:(~8.45 pm) - Ordered Yellow curry with chicken and egg rolls. - Yellow curry was good, it’s little on the sweeter side(if you’re looking for a spicy meal this is not for you) and the size of the meal was decent. I really enjoyed the egg rolls and would definitely order it again. - Chow mein was okay, it’s healthy, lots of veggies, I wish it had more flavour (if you’re looking for a spicy meal this is not for you) and the size of the meal was good and amount of prawns was good. If you order this, I’d recommend clubbing with some hot sauce. - Packaging was good and order was delivered on time.
Very good food and good atmosphere. Also small little things that make atmosphere good like fish aquarium, status. The service could be better.

Came here with my friends as one of the first few places I wanted to try in the new year. We got seated after waiting for about 5 mins. The staff was busy but accommodating. We took some time to look over the menu and saw it was extensive with lot of veg friendly, chicken, seafood and other meat options. This worked out very well for our group. We ended up ordering a few tofu dishes, a soup platter and noodles. Food tasted pretty ok and I wasn’t blown away. Service was good and took fair amount of time.

We ordered food from Thai spice after hearing some good reviews from a friend. Worst decision ever. The food smelt soooo bad and tasted bland even after asking for 4/5 spice level. I will never ever order from here again .

My friend and I walk by here every week and we thought we'd give it a try. They do a brisk business in take out, but not a lot of people eat in the restaurant. Service was fine, but the food left a lot to be desired. I got the Thai beef salad and Tom Kha soup. The beef in the salad was like shoe leather. It was inedible. I tried multiple pieces of beef, but all were tough. The Tom Kha soup was okay, but had very little spice and tasted mostly like coconut milk. The shrimp in the soup was overcooked and very rubbery. My friend got the curry with chicken, which she said was okay, but nothing special. The restaurant was clean and staff was fine, but we won't be coming here again.

Got my food delivered thru doordash. Ordered the house special fried rice and it was not good at all. Had 3 raw shrimps, no chicken and it tasted like steamed rice!! No flavor al all.. never ordering from this place again

Got takeout Pad Thai from here and it was the most bland pad thai I’ve ever had. The tofu was fishy tasting, the chicken tasted old and the noodles had almost no flavor. I ended up having to order a second dinner from somewhere else because I couldn’t stomach this.
Been here on Saturday noon for lunch. It’s empty and you can tell how is this restaurant. Rice is super hard and beef takes forever to chew as it’s rock hard too. Gave two stars for the service as there’s actually “some service”. They took the food away without asking whether if we are working on it. And brought the dessert along with the bills which feels like want you go away fast. Not gonna come again.
The Asians are very rude and want you (basically forcing you) to tip even after the service was terrible , she yells at her employees and customers which is ridiculously unprofessional. Food is not that good , overall bad experience will never be going again
