Basai Thai San Juan Reviews
The best most authentic Thai food in Monmouth County! This place is addictive.
I’ve been to this casual BYO Thai restaurant a number of times. The food deeply flavorful , fresh and well prepared. And you can’t beat the prices.
Siam Basil Thai is the go to Asian cuisine in Sea Girt or Spring Lake. The KANG MUSSAMUN curry with rice noodles is perfection, go to three stars on the spice. Four stars you want to sweat a little.
Quaint sunny atmosphere with friendly good service and delicious food. I had the Pad Thai done vegan and my friend had the Chicken Pad Thai. We also had the spring rolls. Both of us enjoyed our meals. The food was fresh and very tasty. We will be back.
My family has been coming here as long as I can remember. Great food and always consistent!
I absolutely love this place, and it definitely deserves more recognition! The food is fantastic, I’m a creature of habit and always order the dumplings and spicy fried rice with chicken (when they say spicy, they mean it!), while my boyfriend swears by the Bangkok duck and the curry. The quality is impressively consistent, everything tastes just as good every time we go. On top of that, the service is always friendly and the food comes out fast. Don’t sleep on this spot, if you’re craving Thai food THIS is the place to go.
First time here and we got the Eggplant & Chicken Basil entree and the Chicken Sam Rod and both were delicious. Thai chili sauce was soo good and the perfect amount of spice! They do takeout as well. Menu prices are reasonable and portions are great (not too much or too little). We will definitely try this again.
I have never had a bad meal here. The sampler appetizer lets you try a little bit of everything and it is all amazing! My husband always opts for the drunken noodles, which is a deliciously spicy dish. I have tried multiple dishes and I must recommend the yellow curry. It is such comfort food. The steamed fish is equally as good!
A nice Thai restaurant on Rt 35 in Sea Girt. Not a fancy dining room and no liquor license but the service and food is excellent. We had Tom Kna soup and a Nom Sod salad. Both were great. For dinner we shared Spicy Rice with pork and Kang Deang Curry dish and ordered both with less sauce than normal. We really enjoyed both and the dishes are large (see photos). The service is very good. We eat there a few times a month and will continue.
We went for lunch and they had a great lunch menu. Highly recommend.
I am not the biggest Thai fan but sometimes I crave it. Siam comes highly rated. Went with the chicken wings and glad I did. Crunchy and had a lovely dipping sauce. The spring rolls were refreshing and had good flavor. The spicy beef noodles were the star of the show. I would reorder. Not too spicy but it just worked. The noodles were chewy and beef cooked well. We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken and it is different than the chinese version. Not the fan of thai version. Overall, loved it and would order again when in the mood.
Intimate place with pretty good food. I ordered the Pad Woonsen with chicken and my boyfriend ordered the spicy noodles but they weren't spicy so he was a bit disappointed. There were only two women on the floor to take orders, refill water and run food to customers so they could probably use another person! Might be back
Went to this restaurant because couple friends of ours said it was very good. The wait was long to put in an order....then I knew why....there was only one person taking orders and bringing food to the tables. She was snippy to me but I then I realized she was probably overwhelmed. The soups were good and my friends liked their dinners. I ordered Pad Thai with pork. The pork was dry and had a rancid taste. I picked out all the pork and ate some of the Pad Thai noodles. For dessert we had cheesecake egg rolls...now that was worth it! Delicious! I would give them one more chance.
Ordered food at 6pm, was told it would be ready by 6:30pm. Arrived at 6:40pm. Waited in the restaurant for 45 extra minutes and it’s still not ready.
I recently had dinner at this restaurant, and the food was just okay. For appetizers, we ordered fried wings and chicken dumplings. For dinner, we got the seafood fried rice, which surprisingly only had three pieces of shrimp. Having eaten at many Thai restaurants, I can say this was my least favorite experience.
VERY rude service. Unless you enjoy bring ignored on purpose , this family has no business being in a customer oriented business. And forget takeout. You may as well be a statue because no one will bother go acknowledge you. This place is 1/10 the a quality of Herbs. Anyone rating the food here highly has a color palate. Ite very bland and boring. Vegetables don’t taste fresh. It’s just a bag place
