Minami Sushi San Leandro Reviews
Our hometown favorite. If you like sushi and are in San Leandro or surrounding area, this is the place to eat at. The staff are like family. They are amazing. Friendly, catering, welcoming, and provide fast service. Food is the best in the area. Make sure you trythe Tiger roll.
The BEST staff and food!! We’ve been coming here every week for years now. Clean environment, yummy bentos and sushi, and very hospitable staff!
Wonderful sushi, really authentic, nice, and great. I really like this place.
Staple sushi store in this little square. Always reliable. Consistent. Very fresh sashimi. We always get a lunch bento. Casual ambiance. Family friendly. You can buy the salad dressing to take home.
It was fresh, delicious and fast. The service was very nice too and the rolls were very well prepared. The put edamame when you arrive, as a snack, also offered water and after we ordered the food arrived fast and beautiful. I'll go back there for sure
Visited this sushi restaurant with my family and had a delightful experience. We shared a Bento box, udon soup, and two sushi rolls, all delicious. The complementary edamame was a nice touch. Although our sushi arrived late, the waiter clarified there was only one chef, running behind. Convenient location in a busy plaza with ample parking. Despite the delay, we'll be returning for sure. Thank you,
I grabbed some takeout for dinner - the sashimi bento (with chicken teriyaki and ton katsu) and the fried calamari. Everything was nicely packed, well prepared, and very good. The ton katsu was perfectly fried, the chicken teriyaki was flavorful without being too sweet, and the four pieces of sashimi were fresh and larger than expected. The fried calamari was a solid 8/10, though the sweet dipping sauce that comes with it wasn't my thing. The prices are also very reasonable. I will be back soon.
We ordered snow white rolls, Cherry blossom rolls and a bento sushi bento box (teriyaki beef and sesame chickens and 4 pieces of sashimi. We received free gyoza (pot stickers) and the edamame beans. It was a busy night. We love their snow white, sesame chicken, miso soup. Fish is fresh. We will be back.
An underrated Japanese Food.. As a Japanese Food lover myself, I kind of set a low expectation coming here.. Since I've been to plethora Japanese restaurant, it's kinda hard to get impressed.. But to my surprise, the food served here is definitely top notch, especially their excessive option of sushi rolls (must try), with most of them looks very interesting.. I've tried their sushi rolls (5 of 5), chirashi don (4 of 5), and teriyaki chicken (5 of 5).. If you come by yourself, I would suggest to choose the sushi rolls, ask for recommendation if you are not sure, they are very polite, as expected of Japanese people (yes they have real Japanese people there)
this is my favorite restaurant EVER. amazing for vegans. also my dad got a bento box and the portion size was so much more than we expected and it was really appreciated. the miso soup is amazing as well.
I shared the Tiger roll, Spicy tuna tempura rool and Bento box with Cesame chicken, soup, rice & a salad. I finished off my meal with warm sake. Service was great.

Its pretty quiet for the most part and the atmosphere is so relaxing! They give you green peas in the shell which is something i don't see often in sushi restaurants! The service was courteous and swift!
Minami Sushi is one of my favorite spots in San Leandro. They offer great prices without sacrificing quality—the sushi is consistently fresh and flavorful. Their bento boxes are a standout, with tons of options and generous portions, making them an incredible value. On top of that, it’s a family-owned restaurant with genuinely great customer service. You can really feel the care they put into both the food and the experience. Don’t hesitate to give it a try, I have been coming here for years and it always hits the spot!
It's a pleasant dinner night out. I ordered grilled Saba entree with rice and miso soup. Taste good. I forgot the name of the guy server. But his good 👍.
Love this sushi restaurant. I was going all the way to Fremont for sushi not knowing this place was near. My sushi place in fremont closed and I found this one. My daughter's godmother comes here all the time and raved about how amazing it is. So I went and tried it and it was everything she said. The food is good, service was amazing and clean restaurant. I've ordered for pick up which was an easy experience and I've had 2 sit in dining experiences. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Great food and great service! Enjoy every time I visit.

Always great food, fresh, beautiful presentation, great atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices. Never had a bad experience here.
Small place a little crowded but food was good. No issues with service and all our sushi came in at a decent amount of time.il we ordered 3 different sushi rolls and they did not disappoint. Will be trying different rolls next time and hopefully they’re as great as the ones we had on our first visit.
The chicken karage is huge! We couldn't finish it but it was a lil too fried. Everything else was just fine but the salad dressing was very yummy!

Went to the plaza to get Chinese food but they were having a wedding banquet so we came here instead. Pretty good sushi, glad we ate here!

Love this place, they are almost always busy. Legit sushi chefs and great, fresh fish! They have one of my favorite sakes, that's really hard to find, kikisui junmai ginjo (blue dimpled bottle) We try to go a few times a month.
Dropped by over the weekend. Haven't been here in years. The place was packed with little room for standing. Even a line for takeout, too. Definitely get here early. Parking was bad too as the place is on the side of the plaza and there was very little parking on that side of the lot. The service was fair. They were not as attentive as i would have liked. To their credit, the place was packed with guess. The food was okay. I don't remember how the food was years ago, but since they are still there and the place is packed, that alone is a testament to their food. I've had better, but the cost was also much greater. For the price, this place is good. I'm definitely going to try again. This place is a solid 3 stars. I would have given 4 but the service took a tiny hit.
Food taste pretty good, the sashimi was fresh for a small restaurant like this which is surprising. The service was good and friendly, however I would suggest servers to be aware not to have fingers inside the bowls or plates of our food, it's unappealing when serving to customers. They offered free postickers which was a good business tactic. Stars lost dues to the dingy location older interior.
