112 Vista Grande Dining Complex San Luis Obispo Reviews
Not how dining rolled when I went I school. Lots of options, well designed space. Love that they offer the Beyond Burger! A bit pricy for what you get?
As a University eatery - 100% shocked by the amazing quality and choices offered! The short time I was working on campus this place is a MUST eat location!
This building is by far the cleanest establishment, of this size, I have been in for years. Food was good, service fine.
I love the food here!! I go 4-5 times a day because I can't get enough of it!! Don't get me started on the amazinggg service especially the campus dining employee named Joel! You should give him a raise ;) I love Nosh and their consistency. Although it is consistently bad, at least I know what to expect.

Food is nothing like what you will have back home, but it doesn't taste terrible. Well, somtimes it does, but most of the time you can eat there. You don't really have any other choice if you live in Yakitutu.
Part of the Cal Poly SLO Dining system. The Sage restaurant, now known as the Vista Grande Restaurant, serves the best food in campus. Where most everything else is set-up with fast-food like service, this venue serves it's food service as if it were a dine in restaurant. The food is actually descent (something to be said for CP SLO Dining) however the service is terrible. Most students find themselves waiting anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour just to get seated during regular meal times (6:30 - 8:00)! Then it could be another 30 min before your waitress takes your order. They do take PLU$ Dollars, though, which makes up for most everything except that they expect every patron to pay a tip with real money at checkout.

Most of the food is belligerently bad. If you suffer through long enough, though, there are some diamonds in the rough. That's campus food for you.
Way overpriced, small portions, inconsistent food, the menu rarely changes (1-2 times a year) and some restaurants inside don't change at all. Honestly might be a better option to skip a meal than waste money at VG
For ten bucks a sandwich I expected the best sandwich ever. Got a thing with way too much fried fat on it with the complexity I can do at home in 10 minutes.
Very nice building, but the food seems wayyyy to overpriced for the quality. The main issue seems to be the fact that many of the employees don't care about providing a decently crafted meal!
food should be better for the amount we are paying on each meal and on our meal plan alone. not many health options at all. my complaint is since there are not many options, the food gets tiring to live off of, i am sick of it after only a month. i just wish they had quality ingredients considering every meal is about $10
Most of the food sucks but some of it is decent. From Balance I have received both pretty good tri tip and a chicken so overdone that my fork broke while trying to stab meat (not bone). Streats got rid of their best menu item (Grilled Short Rib Mac & Cheese Sandwich) and replaced it with a fake cheese tasting mediocre mac and cheese. Hearth is okay. Brunch is pretty good but often serves watery eggs. Sweets is goated. Noodles is okay

Painfully mid food. If this food wasn’t apart of my campus meal plan I wouldn’t eat it. Everything here is overpriced and the quality of food is so bad. The food is bland and proportions are small. I’m very disappointed
They provide no food. The servings are pathetic and overpriced so anyone who wants a lot of food has to spend 100+ dollars on groceries on basically a weekly basis. It’s horrible
Low quality food. Extremely small portions. And EXPENSIVE!
Today I got the new grilled fish tacos from Streats for $11!! These two tacos that I received could fight for their spot in the Guinness world record book for the smallest tacos in the world! Luckily they gave me half a trey of cold rice to go with it!! Every single time I go into Vista Grande expecting to try something new and exciting I am always unsurprisingly disappointed. The fact that Brunch is the only place that is open every morning until around 1030-11 is absolutely astonishing to me because the food served their seems to be the same food that is served to the ag department animals (even they refuse to eat it). The chicken from every place on campus is not real chicken and is some sort of rubber/plastic hybrid that we are told is ok to eat. God forbid somebody have class until 9 any day of the week because all of the dinning halls close extremely early so you cannot get anything to eat past 9. Please don’t get me started on Nosh because I have never once seen or heard of anybody ordering from that place and yet they still will not change the menu. I’m sure this is so the school can say that they meet some sort of healthy requirement, but it doesn’t matter when nobody has ever ordered from there nor have they looked at the horrific menu that place has to offer.
Food is overpriced, poor quality, and in distressingly small portions. I got food poisoning from the eggs at brunch. Friend puked after eating a burrito from streats. Had to wait for 50 minutes for a meal once. Sometimes I decide to go hungry rather than order from VG. If I could never lay eyes on this godforsaken building again, I would. Do better.
I paid $22 to get two items. From Hearth I ordered cheesy bread which was served burned and tasteless. And from Brunch I ordered the Vegan Chicken Strips and Fries, the portion of which was minuscule and the fries were under seasoned. The staff were professional and the tables were pretty clean, so the location itself is good. But the food is terrible for the price.
Love VG's food so much i spend over half of my tuition on gobbling mostly frozen ingredients and stuff that tastes like microwave meals all day. I enjoy shoving all of these 12 dollar 350 calorie "meals" down my gullet. Helps me mentally and physically. Yum yum.
Worst roast beef I've ever had. Bad flavor on meat, ingredient combo is not good. Au jus is more like syrup from a can, terrible flavor, not real au jus. Go to hofbrau in morro bay for the best one on the central coast.
