Blue Dahlia Bistro San Marcos Reviews
We’ve walked past this restaurant on our way to Insomnia cookie. Today we went for lunch. We ordered the ravioli and the crab cake salad. The homemade pesto dressing on the salad was excellent and I’m not someone who seeks out pesto. The ravioli was delicious. The side bread and smooth butter was the icing on the cake! We will be back to try more of the menu.
This restaurant is a diamond in the rough within San Marcos, TX. I brought my parents here during there visit, and they loved it. We will be visiting again.
Had Avocado toast and churro doughnuts and the raspberry pomegranate mimosa. Well presented and tasty.
I came here last night to kick off my bachelorette party and it was perfection. We enjoyed the meat and cheese boards- I could not recommend these more! The cheese selection was by far my favorite. Service was outstanding. Everyone made sure we had a fabulous time- cocktails were enjoyed by my party. They loved the espresso martinis! The open face sandwiches were stunning and full of flavor. Please try the salmon with goat cheese! If you’re looking to kickoff a special occasion this is where you want to go. It’s a magical atmosphere, generous and kind staff, and the food was delicious! Looking forward to returning with my future husband! Thank you Blue Dahlia for making me feel like a queen! Share more
First timer and Oh My Gosh-the savory mushroom:dill crepes were amazing! Rich creamy & filling. Service was professional and efficient and the rest of the menu u has some great things to try next time! Cute place on the Square in SMTX. They also have artwork by local artists on the wall that you can purchase. Stunning unique paintings of our area.
Anytime I have a chance to stop at the Blue Dahlia while in San Marco, makes me smile. This time I had the vegetable lasagna, will definitely order this again. Their waffle are the best, most of the times I'll have them for breakfast, but I've even had the for dessert. You won't go wrong with anything you order❣️
Came here with a friend and enjoyed the vegetarian frittata. Atmosphere was great. Also had a matcha tea. It was also really good, the while I could select oat milk I couldn't change the sweetener
Recently my wife and I visited for the first the Blue Dahlia Bistro located on the San Marcos square. We like the location with its being on the San Marcos square as we were able to stroll the area for a relaxing walk. We chose to dine inside but there is ample seating outside at the front. My wife and I both ordered the Mushroom Veggie Fritatta which consisted of mushrooms, veggies, and Brie cheese, and was accompanied with a side salad and fresh bread and butter. The dressing we chose for the salad was Pecan Pesto and it was very flavorful and delicious. The fritatta was very tasty with a nice mushroom and cheese flavor enhanced by the Brie cheese. The server, Emily, was very efficient and friendly as were the other employees. Our meals were delivered quickly. My wife and I were impressed by both the service and the food, and we intend to return soon. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Blue Dahlia is my go to brunch/lunch spot and has been since its location in East Austin. I just moved to San Marcos and happy to patron this location as well. Same great vibe, food and friendly staff. Everything is good, and I especially love their tartines.
You can’t go wrong with the secret garden, indoor, or front porch seating. Atmosphere is great in each spot. Our servers are always fantastic, and our server this time, Emily, even made me a perfect espresso tonic which I requested but wasn’t on the menu. Too kind! Food is always amazing. Can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. Love the local art as well!
I enjoyed a delicious meal that was both light and full of flavor. My roasted turkey open-faced sandwich was fantastic, and the service was excellent. However, there was a mix-up when I received the wrong bill from a larger party's table. I was concerned that this would be an issue, especially since I hadn’t checked the total until I got home that evening. Initially, I thought it was my mistake and I would have to accept the loss. However, the manager—I'm not sure if she was the owner—called me back. Instead of just adjusting the amount on the bill, she gave me a full refund. Now, that's the kind of service you rarely find in today's world without having to raise your voice!
This is my new favorite brunch Bristol to go too. The food is great the mimosa even better. Love the different flavors they offer. I will definitely be recommending for my friends and family to go here. Can't wait for my next visit.
10/10 would recommend! The hummus was fabulous. I had the smoked salmon dill toast and it was so fresh and light. We called and the owner was able to accommodate our huge 14 person party. The owner is gorgeous and so friendly. Couldn’t recommend this place more. My grandparents loved the crab cake salad. Cant wait to come back. Make sure to check out the secret garden.
To me this Bistro is like a beautiful, unique flower in the middle of a bunch of cactus! Everything is great, the design makes you feel in the old town of UK or France. The staff are professional and, most importantly, very kind. The food is well made and prices are reasonable. Lastly, I really miss drinking coffee with a glass cup, finally a place that has them. Thank you guys and I'll be back definitely.
After hearing all the great things about this place I was very pleased to get to dine here for breakfast. Menu is well mixed and yet simple. I had the waffles and they were perfectly sweet. Bonus was enjoying the secret garden area and feeling like we were in a Caribbean country. It’s what you make of it.
We loved it. Beautiful restaurant. Ask for the secret garden if it's nice out. We asked the very friendly waiter to surprise us with an appetizer and two different entrees. They brought a tartine appetizer with prosciutto and Brie that was amazing. They brought mushroom crepes that were equally impressive. They really knew how to bring out a perfect level of mushroom flavor. Other dish was coq au vin blanc. Full of capers and other vibrant flavors. Currently enjoying a yellow rose IPA they had on draft and wife has a juicy IPA. You should check this place out if you don't like boring. 5 stars easy.
A charming place, it’s the most beautiful restaurant in San Marcos. A very cozy and gorgeous courtyard, an inside interior is also great, a lot of paintings and nice music! We tried a “Salmon Eggs Benedict”, dish was perfect, English muffin was crispy and properly toasted, the sauce was tasty and eggs was poached very well. Also we ordered “Savory Crepes”, they were tasty, a lot of ham inside and a sauce on top was also delicious. If you will be in San Marcos, definitely visit this place.
It’s a great cafe for small parties, such as a brunch date with a friend. The coffees are great and I like that there are dairy alternative options for creamers, I like the latte art. The food is okay. Not sure if it’s just the things I’ve ordered but I thought I was getting a sandwich both times I’ve gone and both times it was open face on untoasted bread. My meals were also served on a slate plate, which is great for picture taking but lacks practicality when eating. Very much hipster vibes. I still think it’s a great breakfast place and will continue to visit with friends.
Good food ruined by bad service. The wait before anyone noticed us was long. The young man who served us on this sunday morning was sincere, but served the wrong order, then suggested we keep the food. I said i preferred the food i had ordered. This shouldnt happen. It shouldn't be on the customer to accept the waiters mistake. It was another 20 minutes before the right plate came. Several requests for water were ignored and one of us was not served water the entire meal. Also a side was never served even though we asked twice for it. Nice place and good food though.
