Donut Delite San Mateo Reviews
Stopped for a quick donut and got the apple fritter, which was absolutely delicious. Crispy on the edges, soft on the inside.

If your donut shop doesn’t sell Lottery tickets, then I don’t want donuts from there.
Great donut assortment. Vanilla Latte and Mocha Frappe was also good to order from here. Will be sad to see it go.
Got a chocolate old fashioned. Delicious! Prices are about what you'd expect for donuts (~$2.35/each). A good spot to grab a donut in downtown.
Good place to quickly grab a bite and head to the train station. Variety of Donuts and coffee. Try visiting this store in the mornings before 9 for fresh coffee, donuts and other items. Street parking is available around the store but it could get tight later in the day.
This place is great. The donuts are always fresh even later in the afternoon. They are always super nice and prompt. My favorite part is getting a fortune cookie when I order the breakfast sandwich!
Great glazed donuts, lady behind the counter is not very friendly. Have bought from some friendly cashiers in the past

Very nice and tasty donuts and reasonably priced. Conveniently located next to the Caltrain station. Croissants, however, are quite expensive in my opinion.
Wow I have never spent more than $20.00 for a couple donuts and a pint of milk. Well now I’ve paid $25.00 for donuts that weren’t anything special except for the price…
Buttermilk bar was pretty good. Coffee was coffee (they had a selection of five or six different filter coffees). Plenty of choice of donuts. Good place for a quick stop for donuts and coffee.

A bit disappointing. Went on a weekday and it was bit busy. Ordered my favorite donut : apple fritter but either it tasted like the oil is old or something is just off. Friendly.

V good donuts.... BUT the amount charged doesn't match their sign menu and changes depending on who waits on you. Today I was charged over $19 for 6 donuts, none were filled or fancy.. ... . Last week they were about $12.... I'm very disappointed as they are nice people
I got a cinnamon roll and my hubby got a plain glazed donut, and we didn't like either all that much. Too greasy! The service was good.

2nd time going to this place for donuts, but this time i wanted breakfast, and i normally write a positive review but.......I was ok with over paying for a breakfast sandwich and a donut filling. But then this happens. First the sandwich was already made but not that morning because the cheese and the egg was bit cold and tasted odd 🤔, and the donut took a bite and it had a used sharpie pen cover inside 😳 . Overall I paid $21 for the sandwich, donut, and juice this morning. Yeah not going back!!!
I so wanted to like Donut Delite after reading the reviews, but I was incredibly underwhelmed. First, the donuts are nothing to get excited about. They tasted like I could've bought them from a prepackaged box at the grocery store. Second, I was very disappointed with the service. When I walked up to order, I pointed to their board and said, "I'd like to do the half dozen." Meaning, the only half dozen listed on their sign for $6.35. The woman helping me didn't offer any other clarifications, so I started picking donuts. I was super excited to try the jelly-filled, the coconut topping, and the cream-filled. However, once I went to pay she started typing in all sorts of numbers and my total came to $13. Seriously?! I interrupted her and pointed to the sign and said, "I want the half dozen listed on your sign. For $6.35." She looked extremely annoyed and said that the jelly-filled and pretty much every other donut I chose didn't "count." Basically, only glazed and old fashioned donuts were included in the half dozen. She went back and returned the donuts that weren't included, but not without rolling her eyes and doing nothing to hide her annoyance. Well, that wouldn't have happened had she told me from the start. I've never encountered a donut store that only allows you to buy glazed by the half dozen or dozen, and charges extra for something like jelly-filled or chocolate icing. Now I've seen apple fritters, bear claws, and items similar to that costing extra, and that's fine. But, it's a rip-off to try and make someone pay $13 for six donuts. I definitely will not return to this store.
My elderly mom took me there early this morning, she goes often with a friend. The only woman working there is beyond inappropriate and frankly ridiculous! The coffee is watered down. The donuts dry and unable to eat as they stuck to my pallet. I asked for a cup of tap water and she refused and wanted me to purchase it. I repeatedly asked for tap water not bottled water, yet she continued to refuse said she was busy and started charging me for a cup. I paid $11.30 for 2 coffees and 3 donuts that I could not consume. It really is not the money, it’s the principle of how much greed was present and the terrible customer service. You don’t deny water to anyone, not even if they don’t consume. I was a paying customer and I will never return to that inadequately ran business. My mom told me that she makes her friend stand for 15 minutes when cashing a lottery ticket that is sold there while she says, “I’m busy” and sits in the back. I left and went to a donut shop on 3rd Ave and Norfolk St and had the best customer service experience with excellent tasting donuts and free tap water!

i don’t usually write reviews but i just couldn’t believe how awful the 🍩‘s were. also $8 for a small ☕️ , one glazed and one chocolate 🍩. it’s just sad to see a donut shop in a fine location waste such potential. i don’t know what’s going on but i hope they can get it together soon and we can still have a good, authentic donut shop downtown.
Other reviewers are spot on. Their coffee is pathetic and don't ask if the coffee is fresh or which one was just brewed or really amy customer service question of any kind. I made the mistake of asking for milk. If you don't want to give milk without an attitude..here is an idea....don't have coffee pots and charge for coffee. Stale, bland tasting donuts. Rude customer service. I am in a service position amd I would have no customers if this was my business model. I am running and hiding from this place.
Very over priced and dishonest place. I ordered one begal sandwich which on the menu said $6.50 they not only charged me that but another $2.50 for the bagel and $1.40 because the bagel had jalapeños on it. So my $6.50 sandwich with a medium coffee came out to $12.50 and I had to ask for my receipt, since they didn’t give it to me with my change. The food was good. But very dishonest people.
There is a young big lady that acts sweet but isn't. Today she kept me waiting in line and helped someone else out that wasn't even in line and when she came to my side instead of helping me she tried to help the people behind not even looking at me or batting an eye lash. Glad the people behind me pointed out that I was first. She tried to make an excuse but there is no excuse for ignoring someone like that.

Four (4) French Crullers, two (2) Old Fashions, one (1) maple ring = $12.00 seems like I was gouged when the half dozen is $7 something. Definitely not coming back here.
