Vicky's Doghouse San Pedro Reviews
Dog and onion rings were great. Generous toppings, delicious Hawaiian rolls, crispy onion rings. Ask for a fork, because it's messy! Wish they had something besides water, soda, and beer. Lemonade or tea, please?
What a wonderful little hot dog hut, on a battle ship no less, to grab some lunch and a beer :-) I had the PT Boat(all beef dog, pastrami, swiss, mustard, pickle) and it was very filling, along with a Modelo.
What can beat the experience of dining on the fantail of a US Navy Battleship? Dining where many sailors looked out over the clear blue waters, sailing to adventure and in defense of our country. The hot dogs were generously endowed Nathan’s hotdogs with delicious toppings. Even the chicken Caesar salad was loaded with chicken. Please note the prices posted on this review as the prices have gone up compared to other information we read.
The U.S.S Iowa is a phenomenal sight to see. Her role in WW2 was key and her subsequent history a roller coaster throughout three cycles of service. The condition of this incredible battleship is superb thanks to the 200+ volunteers that maintain and operate her as a floating museum. A must see if you are anywhere near Long Beach CA.
The Destroyer and U Boat tasted great. The price seems reasonable due being on a retired USS Iowa Museum. It may seem high but I spent about the same for a Super Dodgers Dog at Dodgers Stadium. I'll be returning to try out the rest of the menu.
Suprisingly... according to my uncle and wife... it was the best hotdog they have ever tasted. I think its comparable to pinks, nathan and sonoran hotdogs... for me... its among the top 5. Though i have to say... they only accepts cash. So be ready with one. After the tour.. this is really a nice treat.. and nearby is the helicopter of the ship... very nice
Hot dog stand with a view!! 😍 This is a super cool hot dog stand with the best view! We stumbled across it walking over from the Maritime museum. The chili dogs and tater tots were great. Put some nacho sauce on my food and I’m a happy gal! Lol. Enjoy the view of the Evergreen while you eat! 😍 We will definitely go back soon!
Amazing selection of different dogs and toppings and sides. I got the battlewagon with a cheesy jalapeño dog, it was absolutely delicious! Then sat in comfy adirondack chairs on the port side of the ship and enjoyed the views.
Great short stay on a ship with simple food, especially, you were a navy before
Great view, great service, good food, terrific ambiance. Best place for a mid day break from the daily frind, have a beer, wine,or seltzer(soda available too), onion rings, tater tots, fries(with chili cheese🤤) and one of their dogs!!!! Best way to make it a good day
Very generous with toppings, great view, good seating. Vicky forever.

A wonderful place to sit outside, feel the breeze and enjoy a meal. Served on Hawaiian sweet rolls with fabulous toppings, these dogs are satisfying. They even have a Beyond vegan/vegetarian option! If you aren't in a dog mood, or want something for sharing, there are great side dishes and mini corn dogs. I'll definitely be coming here for lunch and sunshine more often!
The hot dogs are so good! They're really fresh and the combinations are well done. Dogs are served on Hawaiian buns so the overall taste is sweeter than usual. The mini corn dogs and destroyer style fries were excellent as well. Can't wait to return!
Great food, cold beer and the best waterfront view in the entire harbor. I love watching the ships coming in and out of the harbor, and seals playing in the water. Not to mention, you are on an amazing historical BATTLESHIP! You never know what you will see at Vicky's. It's also free to come aboard to Vicky's, no museum ticket required!
Visited Vicky's Doghouse while on the USS Iowa. We ordered 2 hotdogs and both were excellent, very well presented and tasted great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Eating them.sat on the deck of a battleship is a great experience.
One of the best spots in San Pedro! Get a hot dog, have a drink, and you don’t even need to pay to tour the ship if you don’t want to. If you’re in the mood for a hot dog and want a fantastic view, stop on by. Every dog on the menu has been great and I’ve had them all.

Great bites and drinks while taking in the iconic views of the harbor on a historic battleship. It is a unique and memorable experience to eat here.

I really wanted a hot dog. We got here at about 1:00pm on a Thursday. We told the guy at the exit of the ship we wanted to get a hotdog and he said we had to do the tour 1st and he didn't know if the the stand was open. We finished the tour a bit after 3pm and the stand closes at 3. I'm not going to leave a bad review because I didn't get a chance to try it out. The tour of ship was really cool and we enjoyed it.
I was very excited once I heard they were opening a small food spot on the USS Iowa, and it did not disappoint. Ordered a couple of their hot dogs with toppings, a side of fries and a beer. Everything came out very fast and it tasted very good. Prices are a bit on the higher end for street food but not a big issue. The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is that all the toppings on our hot dogs were extremely cold which felt weird to eat. The fries were underwhelming as they were soft and soggy. But the flavor of the bread, Franks, sauces and toppings was good. The place is beautiful since you can sit next to the water, on the rear side of the ship and look at the port and a lot of the waterfront. It's a pretty cool experience. Service is good and friendly, no complaints there. Definitely will be back and hopefully they'll have crispy fries and warmer toppings. To find the place you just need to go to the back of the ship, and walk to the other side along the water. You will see a little container just in front of the rear cannons. Forgot to mention that part of the 4 star rating is because they use a lot of plastic utensils and cups. Being by the sea, I would expect them to use some sort of ecological option.

Nice little hotdog stand on a great historical ship. The hotdog buns are Hawaiian rolls and gives good flavor with the hotdog. They gave a good portion of fries. We hade the Valentine's for two. Fair prices for the food.
You do not need to buy the museum tickets to go here. You can go towards the back entrance and just say you are heading to Vicky’s. Great customer service and great view of the port and Cruise ships from here!

Went to try a hotdog, saw that they had vegetarian hot dogs was very excited to try it took a while to even be acknowledged ,turns out they just ran out of those so got onion rings and tater tots instead food was very greasy and not the best , maybe the hotdogs are better but I never got a chance to try them, also the guy almost didn't give me my wine because he wasn't old enough to serve it but luckily the other guy came and I was able to get that at least . The views are amazing and the ship is awesome but was not impressed with the food and service, would be cool if they put up an actual restaurant there
