Armida's Bakery & Cafe San Rafael Reviews
Organic bakery in the heart of San Rafael. I came upon this cozy cottage looking place when I got off the beaten path of 4th street. Worth finding! Coffee and hot and cold sandwiches available but the variety of baked goods was so creative … I went for the sweets… the banana Meyer lremon bread/cake is a standout. And I loved loved loved the whole wheat very muffin. Incredible flavors and healthy ingredients! Yay! . I no longer have to be sad that Arizmendi is gone from the San Rafael scene. What a gem…. They even have an upright piano and a children’s books and game corner. I’ll be back!😊
Best ham and cheese croissant ever, including in Paris. Delicious coffee as well. Enjoyed in the charming garden courtyard in dappled sunshine amid loquat trees and jasmine. I look forward to returning again and again.
I had the cherry galette, my husband had the sticky bun, which we enjoyed outside in their garden and we took a berry muffin to go.. It was wonderful and the cherries in mine were fresh and the ingredients were organic. They also have gluten free options. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood; it was a great find on our visit to Larkspur.
What a cute little gem, delicious muffins and great service! If you’re around stop by and support a local business
An absolute hidden gem. Everything is so delicious!

This is a gem of a bakery and coffee spot. Tucked in the Woodland neighborhood in a residential neighborhood and you can get breakfast sandwiches, lunch in addition to their wonderful pastries and cookies. I took some home with me too. How this place doesn't have a line out the door all the time I don't know, but people need to know about this family owned place. They took over from the previous owners and they are so nice. Its calm and has a back patio too.
Cozy little bakery with wide variety of vegan muffins that are corn based. First time having a corn based muffin, and it reminded me of cornbread. Not too sweet. Loved it. So special that they’re still making muffins with the original recipe.
What an absolutely pleasant surprise this place is! Feels and tastes like home. I got hot chocolate, strawberry rhubarb, and 4 street tacos. ☕️🥧🌮 Forgive me for the strange selection of food; I had no expectations. The line was getting pretty long, so they just started serving me food.... Now I've never had a restaurant trust me that much. I can't promise that service to everyone, but they do have really good staff. If you're looking for something healthy in the morning, look no further!
Best bran wheat muffins around! They had a few different berry flavors each time so I get 2-3 to try. Warm a muffin up at home for 15 minutes and WOW. I keep going here to try different things and they never disappoint.
The best Raspberry Scone I ever had. Lovely atmosphere and the service was impeccable. Wish they were in Prescott, AZ so I could go there everyday!
If you ever just want to step back in time for a morning suite and some lovely Coffee do yourself a favor and find yourself to the street corner in San Rafael, California
My walking friend and myself were fortunate to visit this special place during a mid-weekday morning. The breakfast crowd had earlier selected their favorite muffin and pastry. In return, we selected the last one or two of several items. All were delicious! My friend enjoyed an espresso while I ordered a hot chocolate. This 12 Oz $4.50 beverage was served in a warm mug. It was perfectly made with Ghirardelli chocolate and Clover milk. Yum!
Spent $32 for a cherry scone, bacon breakfast burrito, and a drip coffee. That being said, it was like if my mom was making me breakfast before school but so much tastier. Very delicious, great scone, drinkable coffee, would recommend other than it being expensive. But hey, what isn’t these days. (Okay the burrito was probably the smallest breakfast burrito I’ve ever purchased, and it was $16, but it tasted good) Okay I gotta say it again, the scone was fantastic and had the perfect amount of sugar and was perfectly moist and crumbly and delicious. Soooo goood, but sooooo $8 ☹️
Went to Muffin Mania once, and the muffins were seriously disappointing. I never went back. Today, I tried one of the pastries from Armida’s and am blown away. It’s crispy, moist, and just perfectly crafted. The place is very cute and homey inside too. I’ll be coming back this time :)

Excellent little cafe with a strong local vibe. Would translate it back to my home town if I could 💕

The baker or bakers at Muffin Mania used to make the absolute best butter croissants in all of Marin County. After Armida purchased the business, for a while, they retained their skills in making butter croissants that would rival those made in Paris. It's been a while since I consumed carbs so I went today to treat myself. What they now sell, for $6, as a butter croissant, is little more than a piece of bread. Lacking is the rich, delicious flavor of butter. Lacking is the crisp flaky exterior. Special talents and skills were lost in the ownership transition.
She makes decent baked goods but overpriced, and the owner’s rather sour demeanor makes me want to go elsewhere. Too bad because it is potentially a great neighborhood spot.
The food is delicious. Very high priced but very good. The owner relentlessly complains about her financial woes with the teeny restaurant, threatening to close while we’re having lunch. I won’t return. I much preferred when it was Muffin Mania, and I could be with my own thoughts uninterruptedly by the owner. I won’t return.

I can’t believe I paid $7 for this croissant… I’m ok with spending $28 on FOUR pastries (one of them is not on the picture bc I had to pop it in the oven for it to be edible..) expensive but might be worth it, right? Well this is NOT IT. I’m sorry, I don’t like leaving bad reviews but when you are charging these prices you have to do better… shame.

The blueberry muffin is so dry and there's barely any blueberries... It was not appetizing at all. We also got a chocolate croissant, there's one little chocolate chip on top and the inside is filled with.. almonds?

Nice location. Unfriendly service. We ordered a chocolate croissant. The only chocolate was 1 tiny chocolate chip on top. When we opened it, it was an almond croissant. The blueberry corn muffin was dry and flavorless. I hope that you can improve your product and attitude so that this neighborhood can enjoy what should be a little gem.
