Aspaldiko San Sebastián Reviews
This place is an absolute hidden gem! If you are craving seriously authentic, fresh Italian food- you really need to dine here. I had the wild caught blue crab cake, linguine with bolognese sauce and the nuova capri salad which was similar to caprese but elevated to a whole new level. Everything is delicious- but you’ll know that when you walk in and are instantly surrounded by heavenly aromas. The staff is absolutely incredible, so kind courteous and attentive. Paulo is so cheerful and knowledgeable, if he recommends anything- it’s worth trying! The owners are so sweet and taking painstaking care to ensure a wonderful experience. I have been a life long loyal customer to another Italian Restaurant in town, and I am happy to say Marcello’s Ristorante is officially my new favorite go to for an excellent meal!
5 stars! Marcello Ristorante in Thousand Oaks exceeded our expectations! We started with the Strozzapreti al parmigiano e gorgonzola (potato gnocchi, parmigano & gorgonzola) and Suppli (rice balls with peas & mozzarella) - both were delicious! For our mains, the chicken Marsala was cooked to perfection with a rich Marsala wine mushroom sauce, and the Salmone con tapenade e spinaci was flavorful and fresh. Great service and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend! 🍝
Hidden gem, hole in the wall Italian food. Best creme brulee for dessert. I am a sucker for their egg noodle pasta. We have tried so many different appetizers and main dishes and everything is always good. The seafood salad special is great.
Best Italian restaurant in town. The food is authentic and very well cooked. The calamari looks like other typical Italian restaurants but don't let it fool you. The taste is exceptional. And it pairs well with the sauce too. My wife got a tagliata di manzo. The truffle oil on thinly sliced pieces of steak is a genius creation. I got a ossobuco which came with well flavored risotto and tendered veal. Overall, highly recommended place. The service can be a little slow but relax, take a sip of wine and dine like You're in Italy. Food will come out eventually.
Excellent food. Very high quality and balanced flavors. The sea bass was amazing. Calamari was very tender, it wasn’t overcooked and rubbery like most places around here.
Starting with the service, and hospitality… like I walked into a restaurante in Italia! Warm, friendly, fun. I had the steak, perfectly cooked how I asked…. Oh but I forgot about the pizza, the margarita pizza is top… a legit 9.5 because nothings a ten…What a delightful warm spot. Looking forward to bringing my family back
Amazing service and delicious food, will happily come back next time with are in the area!

We had dinner here while visiting the area 3 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it We looked forward to returning and were not disappointed. This family run restaurant has an excellent menu and a nice wine list. Calamari starter was excellent as were entrees of clam linguine and seafood over bucatini pasta. Server was knowledgeable, attentive and appropriately interactive. Highly recommend.
We have dinner at Marcello's since almost 20 years. Once or twice a month. Excellent food - great wine list. The owner and his staff are welcoming and attentive. Moderate noise level even when the place is packed.
Marcello Ristorante exceeded all expectations! The lasagna was absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and perfectly layered. I also tried the duck, which came in a huge portion and was incredibly delicious. The pasta rosetta was pure comfort—creamy, satisfying, and beautifully balanced. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the wait staff were impeccable—attentive, friendly, and professional. Every dish came out piping hot and was served quickly, making the experience feel both relaxed and well-orchestrated. Highly recommend Marcello Ristorante for anyone looking for a truly memorable Italian dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!
Marcello over by the Oaks mall is a really fun quaint little hole in the wall Italian eatery run by actual Italians, and you must try the Italian roast. It is so good. They have a little shop right next-door that they own, a deli with the absolute best meats, although it’s very expensive. It’s a very quaint place to go and have dinner. It is intimate, little tables. It’s a bit pricey, but it beats going to cheesecake factory again when you’re at the mall ! Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our chicken lemon dish and the lemon dessert. The restaurant is under new ownership from approximately 37 years ago. The new owner is very friendly, accommodating, and really wants to make sure you are satisfied with the whole experience. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great wholesome Italian fare.
Amazing food and friendly attentive service! We love the pastas, the grilled tomatoes and mozzarella- all the desserts! Support local restaurants - highly recommend.
Amazing Italian cuisine! Perfect place for a family dinner, the menu is very nice with something for everyone. Fish dishes are very tasty. The wine list is great too. The desert is delicious. My husband and I frequent to this restaurant. The service is fantastic, they have a way of making you feel like family.
Paolo and Jose were lovely. The food is delicious and the service was even better! Nice quiet night with my mom. She goes here frequently and it was my first time.

Stopped in for lunch and couldn't have been happier with the food and service. So glad they are open for lunch! Salmon salad, so yummy!

It is very good authentic Italian food. I’ve had a couple of meals here and they both tasted great. However, they don’t have a very large menu and there were only a few things on the menu that sounded good. It’s also one of the few places I go where none of the appetizers sound too appetizing. It’s not that I think the food will taste bad, it just doesn’t excite me and make me interested in ordering it. The staff is very attentive and helpful. It’s a great restaurant, I just wish they had more things in line with my tastes.
Each time we come here, they treat us like family. Tonight we were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. Everything on the menu is really good. Tonight I had the short ribs and Fred had the butternut squash ravioli. The two things you won’t get anywhere else that’s even close to this quality are the potato gnocchi (light and pillowy, not too starchy) and calamari. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Solid Italian American cuisine can be nearly a local Red Sauce place. The menu is designed with what you would expect. You have your classic Bolognese to Chicken Piccata, to Chicken Parmigiano. The lunch menu is more concise with limited entrees, but sandwiches adorn the experience. The dinner menu is far more extensive and inviting. The longer list of entrees includes different Risottos and Seafood, Veal, and Ossobuco. Pizzas are also available. The dishes are classics for Italian Americans, and Marcello does it very well. The most impressive item is their Fried Calamari. It is simple and executed with care. One of the best examples I have tasted.

Nice place - they were able to seat us pretty quickly on a Friday night. I was disappointed in their tea selection. Honestly, the tea was disgusting. The food was good but not worth the price.
This place is overrated and overpriced. Im a huge supporter of local restaurants and businesses but I don’t think I could order from here again. The Squash ravioli was bland and boring, with an overpowering taste of sage and earthly undertones. It did not have the traditional sweet sauce you would imagine. The red sauce did not pair nicely, and it felt the like ravioli was fried in a oil. The lasagna was good but big chunks of cheese not melted deep inside. Had good flavor but it was a total of $42 tonight for a very disappointing meal. Would not order from here again.
