A top-notch LGBTQ+ dance club, with two large dance floors, three bars, and a huge patio. When I was there they had a drag contest in the back dance floor, and the front was open with a different DJ for dancing. I was especially impressed with the gigantic patio, with many little cabanas where people could just lounge and have a conversation. I Would love to do fortune-telling there.

We had a blast here on the emo Taking Back Thursday night. The bar staff is all super sweet, including the gogo boys and DJs and bartenders. There is a huge patio here if you’re not feeling the DJ or the night. We loved having the option to go from the emo night to the hip-hop night but wish that the Latin/hip-hop side would have been more Poppin. Big Ups to the taking back Thursday DJ, who is so sweet and kind and also put on a killer performance.

Keeping in mind it’s the only club in Hillcrest….. Fun, fun, fun. Well managed, great DJ, love the lighting, love the outdoor area now, if you can definitely get a vip table

Always one of the best places to be in Hillcrest on a weekend night.

Great nightclub ! Our host, Jazmyn was very responsive and accommodating to our needs when booking a VIP section. Appreciated the server initially pouring our drinks + coming back out the second time with the sparklers (since our bachelor missed it the first time lol). I really didn't enjoy the DJ that much to be honest. It was the same circuit beat over and over again all night long but it's alright still had a great time.

Went to Rich’s to celebrate the Pride Kick-Off Party. Tonight featured performances by Kandy Muse and Jessica Wild from RuPaul’s Allstars Season 8 as well as music from DJ John Joseph. The place was decorated beautifully for Pride and the music was booming and definitely kept people on the dance floor. Drinks here were somewhat expensive but that’s what you have to expect at a club. Both bartenders we went to poured heavy and honestly we didn’t have the same experience with watered down alcohol that other reviews have noted. Both were extremely friendly and efficient despite the number of people they had to serve. We were a little disappointed that Kandy and Jessica only performed one song each. It was a long wait for a somewhat short show. While we were happy to be there to see them it was a blink of the eye and they were finished. Rich’s also had a large outdoor area which has different music and is more of a place to have conversations instead of dance. Overall it was a fun night. I only take them down a star due to the short show and a desire that they had mixed in some Reggaeton with the other music to give everyone some variety.

Great staff, chill vibe, the smoked chicken quesadillas were good, loved the liquor popsicles get the Rum & Coke or Lime Margarita, and the Dirty Mules are smooth be sure to stir to fully get all the flavor. I enjoyed visiting this club with my bestie. (Due to covid I did appreciate the spacing, sanitizer, & doing temp checks at the door)

Just saying. 11 cocktails and 2 sandwiches. And this was discounted price. Original price $256. I loved our server/waitress, but pricing was not transparent, I get that COVID hit the bottom line but this is ridiculous. Rich's is definitely a cool place to hangout and would recommend.

This was my first, and certainly my last, visit to Rich's Gay Nightclub. My husband and I chose to celebrate his birthday here, and the experience was deeply disappointing. The most significant issue was the unprofessional and rude staff behavior. When I approached the counter to order a drink, I initially received no acknowledgment from the first bartender. Assuming it was the noise, I asked again, only to be chastised and told I was "rude" for interrupting—despite the bartender never indicating they were busy or saying they would be right with me. After apologizing, the bartender still seemed reluctant to take my order. Shockingly, I moved to a different part of the bar and had a similar, negative interaction with a second staff member. It seems to be standard practice for bartenders here to accuse customers of being rude for simply trying to order a drink. Beyond the staffing issue, the value is simply not there. The overpriced drinks, combined with the unfriendly demeanor of the security staff, do not justify the high cost of the experience. We expected a welcoming, celebratory environment and received the exact opposite.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Security is supposed to make you feel safe—not violate your boundaries. One of your guards clearly thinks a badge gives him the right to put his hands on people, and I experienced that firsthand. While trying to make my way to the bathroom, I was repeatedly touched and blocked for no reason other than this man’s power trip. When I stood up for myself and called out his inappropriate behavior—something others had also experienced—he escalated it and falsely claimed I was “drunk and disorderly.” That’s when I was manhandled by multiple guards. I wasn’t drunk. I wasn’t causing a scene. I was trying to leave the situation with dignity. Instead, I was disrespected, cornered, and touched in ways no one should be—especially not by a stranger using their position to harass people. Litigation is being considered, and I suggest management take a hard look at who they’re employing before someone ends up seriously harmed or your club ends up shut down. You don’t get to assault people and hide behind a security shirt. Any manager should be embarrassed. Your employee discriminately put his hands on me without cause, then weaponized the full force of your security team based on nothing but his own ego and assumptions. I was trying to walk to the bathroom; sober, calm, and minding my business- only to be repeatedly touched, blocked, and harassed by someone who clearly doesn’t understand boundaries or professionalism. When I called out his behavior, instead of accountability, I got escalation. No one stopped to ask what actually happened. Instead, I was treated like a problem and physically grabbed by multiple guards. That tells me everything I need to know about how your club deals with people—especially gay men—who speak up. If this is how you handle “drunk people,” even when they aren’t drunk, then your staff aren’t trained, they’re just dangerous and more concerned about themselves. I’ll be pursuing this through the proper channels, because this kind of behavior isn’t just unprofessional, it’s unlawful.

Phone got stolen 5 minutes right after paying $20 each to get inside by the bar to the right of the entrance. We were recording ourselves and caught it on video. This lady grabbed the phone directly out of our friend’s purse and left afterwards. Even though we have proof and identity of the person they’re probably not going to do anything to find that patron on security.

If someone stole ur phone make sure that u leave a bad review here😁 sings in the club don’t really help. They just open ur bag while you are dancing and take ur phone. 1. Noone care in the club about your phone and they will never help you. Even if you text them…just get a new phone, don’t waste your time. 2. Police will never come too. 3. If ur phone will appear in LA - the tall thin black guy stole it. 4. Richs has many phones in their storage but u will never find out if they have your phone there. 5. Apple care theft and lost+icloud backup might save your night😁

**BEWARE OF PHONE THIEVES** Phone was stolen from my zipped bag on Saturday night within 15 minutes of arriving at Rich's. I noticed it nearly immediately but the location was already off. The security were not helpful at all. Two days later, the phone's location was in LA. Clearly this is an inside job as other reviewers have tracked their stolen phone's location to LA. Shame on Rich's for being complicit in these crimes. If you are reading this and had your phone stolen, REPORT IT TO THE POLICE! The more reports, the more likely they can track down the offenders.

A $20 cover at 9 PM on a Saturday even though the club was basically empty. Music wasn't good either, a lot of DJs don't know the difference between "general party vibes" and actual dance music.

The guy that owned the hotdog stand in this establishment denied me services cause I asked if it was beef or pork (I don’t eat pork ) and a regular is $8 and if I add onions it’s 11 so as I’m trying to have a conversation asking when I was rude security came up. Whatever his stand is bullshit. Like we are grown people if I want to ask a question regarding what he is serving shouldn’t be an issue. I would definitely come again for the inside music but not for the food

White people acccused my Hispanic friend of stealing and the security kicked her out without both sides of the story or explanation just took sides instantly no proof, we even offered to be searched as we were literally just dancing in the dead club. Be careful when you go out racism is everywhere.

When you charge 20 bucks for a Long Island it means a Long Island not a tiny skimping way pour of vodka and filling the damn glass with ice, coke and water and ruin my mood. I still paid the tip to your guy but this is a shame on Rich’s!

A couple months ago, I was here with a friend when she mysteriously tripped while dancing and we felt someone rush by us. She ended up hurting her ankle pretty bad and we had to leave despite only being here for 15 minutes max. This happened on an empty dance floor on Welfare Wednesday and no one came to help us. Another patron came over and helped us but not security who was standing around at the edge of the dance floor. We had to take her outside as she was limping and still no one from the establishment wanted to help us, even when she was crying. Something tells me it was security who rushed in the middle of us and causing her to fall and twist her ankle. I saw a security guard walking away from the dance floor as we dealt with the aftermath and none of them wanted to lift a finger to help us, probably because it was one of their buddies who caused it. Honestly, this is the worst of the 3 main Hillcrest clubs. You’re better off at one of the other two, esp based on other reviews I’ve read.
