We arrived at 2:30 PM, and even though the kitchen was closed, the very kind chef still served us brandacujun, which was exceptional. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The place is small but clean. The selection of focaccias, pizzas, and sardines is very varied.

Excellent quality, local food, prepared in the traditional way, served with care, and a friendly, family atmosphere that we loved. The rabbit in Sanremasca sauce was exquisite. Prices were quite reasonable, especially in an area riddled with tourist traps. We'd go back again and again.

Delicious food and real Italian spirit ! Strongly recommended. don't know why this place is rated below 4. Only if you it a lot, be aware, the portion are not very big.

An authentic place, where you can travel back in time to the heart of Sanremo's oldest restaurant, enjoying a dish: anchovy soup. Not to be missed. Forget everything else, luxury, etc. The owners, heirs of the founders, are an integral part of the restaurant.

The owner and his wife are so friendly ! The food was exceptional and the atmosphere in the restaurant was just what we was looking for , a must go to place for dinner !

A historic restaurant on Via Palazzo. Its location on a pedestrian-only street ensures a quiet atmosphere, so much so that you can enjoy the background music (Charlie Parker). The menu is limited, but in this case, that's a plus. Excellent value, even if the portions aren't generous: the pesto lasagna and the eggplant parmigiana are very good. The Ligurian-style minestrone with fresh vegetables is delicious. The warm apple pie with cream is also very good. It's best to reserve (there aren't many seats) and choose to dine early (the kitchen closes at 9 pm). Lastly, the restaurant's sardenaira is exceptional.

We had lunch at this historic restaurant, which we'd been wanting to try for a while. The service was initially quite rude, but it improved as the meal progressed. The menu doesn't have many options; we ordered a slice of sardenaira, pesto lasagna, baby octopus with cuttlefish, and an apple strudel (which was anything but a strudel). The dishes were good, but the portions could use some work. Overall, the price was a bit expensive, considering all the factors listed above and the location itself (it's true that it's a historic restaurant, but it's very run-down).

Great Restaurant definetly worth a visit whilst in San Remo. I can recommend it if you're looking for a cozy traditional restaurant with delicious food. But if you're almost starving, you might need to order more than one dish, because the size of the dishes is not really enough for me. Anyways, the service is flawless and they have very kind staff.

Typical place in the heart of Sanremo, discovered by chance but happy to have stopped. Quiet and truly pleasant evening. The place is small but welcoming, personally I don't like too crowded places. The owners and staff were immediately courteous and attentive. The sardenaira was tasty, and I really appreciated the stuffed anchovies. The trofie with pesto are mouth watering. Desserts, in addition to the classics, you can also choose homemade desserts which are served hot. The apple pie is truly a delight. What can I say, we felt at ease and ate well for the right amount of money. Advised.

Beyond its official image, Sanremo retains a few elements of authenticity, well-hidden but precious. Visiting the Cantine Sanremesi means visiting this residual heritage, walking along Via Palazzo (parallel to the more famous Via Matteotti, all festivals and pop songs), amidst the succession of new shops and a few surviving "botteghe" (workshops), all the way to the western end. This historic venue has remained unchanged (even too much!) over time: don't miss the sardenaira (Sanremo pizza by the slice) and the focaccias, also available to take away. At the tables, you can enjoy baked stuffed anchovies, minestrone, stewed tripe, baked eggplant, and other home-style Ligurian dishes. The atmosphere is informal, the service simple and courteous, and the prices reasonable. From Via Palazzo, continue west a little further to the Piazza San Siro area, with its namesake Romanesque cathedral, and the surrounding alleys. Turning back, admire the splendid Palazzo Borea with a view that transcends today's commercial introductions, and then climb to the Pigna, the ancient historic center of Sanremo described by Italo Calvino, with its winding, uphill alleys and unexpected little squares, enlivened by the voices and colors of the current occupants of the narrow houses huddled together, forming, precisely, a pine cone. Not much remains of ancient and beautiful Sanremo, but what remains is worth exploring, including the Cantine Sanremesi wine cellars and the delicious sardenaira.

High prices for the quality of the food. They weren't even told they weren't getting anything on the menu. A simple limoncello, definitely not homemade, for €6. Service? The waiter goes out for a smoke while serving tables. When he comes back, he picks up a plate and brings it to the table. She picks up the cake slices with her hands and then picks up the crumbs by putting her hands in her mouth, then "wipes" them on her shirt and picks up the plate to be delivered.

The restaurant looks very cute and pleasant from the outside and was relatively nice inside, however the food was incredibly disappointing. Multiple items on the menu were not available, despite us being the first customers, and the only customers at that time. The four of us each ordered a main, but the portions were like starter sized and not particularly nice either. They were not bad tasting, but my vegetable Minestrone was intensely over-salted and had a very large puddle of olive oil on top. The rabbit was served with a single small boiled potato and nothing else and our soup was served with rock hard stale bread that was also intensely salty. When it came to the bill, the food was insanely overpriced, and an automatic €8 charge was added for the (quite poor) service. Not to mention my single 330ml can of Coke Zero cost €3.50 and a bottle of water for €4.50. We were left very disappointed, dissatisfied and feeling slightly robbed. There are so many far nicer places in Sanremo, so I would suggest you stay away from here in order to avoid upsetting endings to lovely days.

Very pleasant place with a very congenial host. However, the portions were minute and the food was quite poor. I had melanzane, and it was like a starter. Under seasoned and very dry. My partner had rabbit. Again, very dry and just two tiny potatoes. Quite obvious that the portions were just heated in the microwave. We had a small glass of wine each which seemed to be unusually weak. The bill was £35!!!! Really not worth it. Very disappointing.

Lively host, but the food did not match his entertaining manner. Portions were very small, very very average cooking. Disappointing I'm afraid. Cannot recommend this place at all.

Avoid this place, try it tonight. Seriously, don't go to this restaurant. Unpleasant staff, prices don't match the menu. A tourist trap. Personally, I won't be going back to this restaurant; there are much better options in Sanremo.

The restaurant's setting is truly authentic, and the baked eggplant was good. However, the portions were incredibly small considering the prices. The stuffed anchovies were frozen (judging by their texture and temperature), and €12 for four anchovies?! To our surprise, we were charged an additional €10 at the end. Avoid this place.
