La Casbah Sanremo Reviews
The cuisine combines flavor, lightness, and a delightful composition of dishes. The restaurant, located in the heart of the La Pigna neighborhood, is a small journey beyond the sea: three rooms on two levels, majolica and ceramics reminiscent of the Maghreb, elegantly furnished tables, and soft lighting that create an intimate and evocative atmosphere. Perfect for a cozy dinner in the alleyways or for a mint tea served with its traditional fare. The owner is welcoming, kind, and able to offer attentive advice. The table features classic dishes made to order: couscous (also vegetarian, merguez, or royale), fragrant tagines, well-balanced tabbouleh, and hummus; warm Arabic bread, and mixed antipasti that encourage sharing. Among the desserts, don't miss the "desert sand," Saharan biscuits, and baklava, perfect with mint tea. Generous portions and fair prices complete a pleasant and light experience. After dinner, you can move to the hookah lounge for a fruity shisha: soft music, sofas, and a slow pace will make you forget you're just steps from the Sanremo sea. A place that coherently combines taste and atmosphere.
An authentic and welcoming experience thanks to Smartbox! We used a Smartbox and found ourselves in this little corner of Morocco in the heart of Sanremo's pine forest. The Casbah is run by a kind Moroccan man who welcomed us with great warmth and helpfulness. Before dinner, we enjoyed a delicious sampling of traditional North African sweets made with love, accompanied by a Love-flavored hookah (chicha!), a fruit mix that lasts no more than half an hour (for one person, by the way). Then we ordered dinner and enjoyed a generous and delicious couscous with cooked vegetables and a very tasty and spicy North African sausage, a balanced and authentic spicy flavor. All accompanied by an excellent mint tea, served as per tradition. The setting is simple but refined, full of details that make you feel like you're traveling, and the atmosphere is relaxed and familiar. It was a special moment experienced calmly and authentically. Highly recommended for those seeking a sincere and unusual experience. We will gladly come back!
June 2, 2023 In the Sanremo area, we decided to take advantage of a gift box at this restaurant. Having contacted the owner in advance, we headed there after parking in Piazza Eroi Sanremesi, which is just over 200 meters away. The restaurant is located on a small street. Upon entering, there's a tiny counter, steps leading down to a small lounge and a smoking area (hookah), completely secluded from the rest of the restaurant. We ordered two bottles of beer (€4.00 each) and then were served a tasting plate (€14.00) each, along with delicious Arabic bread. All the dishes were very good and appropriately spiced. We ordered the Moroccan-style tabbouleh (€8.00), made with cracked wheat, not couscous. It was a delicious dish, very tasty and pleasing to the palate. They also served us traditional desserts with superb mint tea. A very pleasant place, offering typical Arabic/Moroccan dishes with quality ingredients at a fair price. Good value for money. If you're in the area, I recommend trying it.
A fantastic place, the subdued atmosphere is truly evocative in a setting with characteristic furnishings. The owner is very kind and helpful, and the food is delicious. A special mention for the tagine, truly delicious. You can also smoke hookah downstairs. Finally, another plus: it's also affordable. It made for a truly enjoyable evening.

My girlfriend and I spent Christmas Eve at this vibrant restaurant. We enjoyed our meal. The staff were fun and made sure we had a good experience.

I love all the pasta and fish available at the main eateries in San Remo. This was a wonderful change.
My family and I had a really nice dinner at La Casbah. The appetizers were delicious, the hummus tasteful and the bread oven fresh. Our main course was great and we enjoyed our Moroccan experience to the fullest with mint tea and sweets. Furthermore, the host was really friendly, helping us out with our choices and the explanations of the different dishes. We will be back on our next trip to Sanremo when we need halal food!
Very nice.
Shisha was not good at all and was also expensive . 20 € for shisha in Italy really is expensive.
If you like stale bread, re-heated dry falafels, chunks of tough chicken on a wooden skewer served at room temperature, fraudulently refilled & capped sparkling water, and a stoned waiter, this is t…
It was a surprise. I admit I'm not from the area: I followed the GPS to get there. It's hidden in the middle of the narrow streets, and if you're not trained in tracking, it's hard to find. In any case, the surprise was that it's a restaurant, but it's not a restaurant. I arrived at 9:30 PM, convinced I'd eat after the tortuous drive to get there, only to be told they no longer serve food, even though Google said it was open until midnight.
Avoid this scam place. Ordered shisha and tea and some snacks. They cheated by doubling-counting some items and refused to make correction to bill. Also they did not change the shisha coals despite my request to do so. Snack was ok at best. Spoiled evening…
The worst falafels I’ve had in my life. They were inedible, must have been a week old. The rest of the meal was not much of an improvement. The server was apathetic and in a daydream fog..
Don’t go there. The food is owful. There is no to eat. It is a little portion. The taste is very bad. Don’t recommend!
