I had the sweet chili garlic shrimp; my husband tried the kalua pork and TERI chicken. Both plates were very flavorful! The prices were good for the quality of food. A cute spot in the middle of 4Th Street Market in downtown Santa Ana if you’re looking for a quick, casual lunch.

The sweet chili garlic shrimp was delicious and the Mac salad was pretty good. The shrimp was crispy, sweet and savory with the garlic after taste. Not a big fan of the cole slaw so I would ask for double Mac salad if possible. The pork belly sandwich was filling, soft and tender with every bite. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Update: ordered the cheehoo fries and the pork belly grilled cheese and definitely ono grindz for sure. Will come again when I'm back at the 4th street market.

This shop is in a food hall but it did not stop the great service we received. Our cashier, gave a bunch of good suggestions and even made a deconstructed Masubi for my daughter. We went with the hungry Faka because it was a little of everything. The food came out in 10 minutes and was delicious! Can’t wait to come back.

Fakas Island Grill is a food establishment cinched into the 4th street food market in downtown Santa Ana. It is one of the best island style food joints I have had the pleasure of eating at. The Mac is not too greasy or overdone. The furikake rice is the right type of moist and savory. The crunchy musubi was spot on delicious. The shrimp is definitely worth trying. And they're pork belly is to die for. Great food. Pleasant service. The folks truly know the nature of Mahalo, and you'll break your mouth chowing down on all this fine food. Give it a try, you'll not regret it.

Came here over the weekend with my friends, and we love this place! Best food and service in downtown Santa Ana. The guys are great and super chill because we came pretty close to closing, and they still served a fire meal! I'm really grateful they did that, and I will be coming back again. Thanks guys!

So! Good! I’m not from this area but I’m so glad I found this! 4SM seems like a cute up and coming area and with a lot of food options and space for both small and larger groups. We got the Honey Sesame Katsu, Pork Belly Fries, and Crunchy Musubi! I usually love Chicken Katsu w extra sauce, but this Honey Sesame Katsu didn’t need any! And the Pork Belly Fries is an explosion of flavor and is the perfect ratio of protein and fries! Crunchy Musubi is also very tasty, and the amount of rice in the Musubi is perfect! Definitely would come again to try more!

The best island food I’ve ever had. The Mac salad is on point, the pork belly melts in your mouth, the shrimp is monstrous, the Holy Faka’n Fries are killer, and every dish is a kick of flavor that will make you want to keep eating, even after you’re full. If you ever go to LA, or find yourself near Anaheim/Huntington Beach, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some Faka’s. Amazing food and plenty of it at a fair price. 🔥🔥🔥 Seriously, it’s that Faka’n good

The food is so delicious! I got the Pork Belly grilled cheese it was AMAZING! The cheese was so fresh, so stringy, and delightful; the sauce was a beautiful addition; the pork belly itself was heavenly. My partner got the sweet and spicy chicken Katsu which was so delicious he fell completely silent to focus on solely enjoying the food.

Wife ordered the pork belly grilled cheese and that was 5/5. Cheese grilled on the skilled and crunchy band melted with the pork belly. Come on! The crunchy spam musubi also 5/5. My new favorite dessert, Ube cheesecake... Ube and cheesecake flavor just dances on your tongue! Amazing.

Delicious food! I had the Chicken Katsu plate and the Crunchy SPAM Musubi — both were excellent. My kids devoured the musubi! The dipping sauce for the katsu was flavorful, especially the Sweet & Spicy Sauce. The staff was also very nice. Highly recommend!

Amazing prices for food so good you'll be thinking about it the next day. Even when completely slammed with a massive rush, they were super friendly and maintained incredibly high quality food (not easy to do). My advice? Order two so you can take some home. I got the Katsu Sando.

Chef Patrick is the best! He’s a fantastic guy, always takes care of us. The food is wonderful, really flavorful and juicy chicken and the ube flan is delicious! The musube was a treat too.

I was looking forward to trying this place out.  Only to be disappointed that they don't serve loco moco and pork belly anymore.  Second day in a row for my hunt of a loco moco and struck out.  This place is located in a food hall.  They had at least 10+ dining options here. The person who helped me was super nice and apologetic.  Sadly, at the time I placed my order, the menu wasn't working either. I ordered: 1.  Kalua pork all rice:  My husband had to settle for this since there was no loco moco.  It was shredded pork and a little dry.  It lacked something.  Maybe if it was a kalua pork with cabbage, it would be juicier and flavorful. 2.  Garlic shrimp w/ chicken katsu:  I was surprised this was a fried shrimp with no shell and was coated in the chili sauce.  The shrimp was a good size as well. Chicken katsu was tasty. It wasn't the standard panko breading. It had flavor that it didn't need the sweet chili sauce. 3.  Crispy spam musubi:  I had looked forward to this, but instead, what was in the bag was furikake fries.  He had assured me everything was there and even highly recommended the crispy spam musubi.  He said it's typically his lunch break snack. Fail. 4.  POG agua fresca: I was surprised this was something they still had on the menu.  It was delightfully tasty and not overly sweet like an agua fresca Overall, the food was good.   I honestly wouldn't have come here had I known there was no loco moco.  So it was a good experience to try something new.

The service was great. I got the chilli garlic shrimp. My only complaints are that it wasn’t enough sauce for me. It was so delicious that I would have loved extra all over my rice as well. Also I don’t like the shell still on the shrimp, I know this is how it’s made, but for me it’s hard to eat and the flavor of the sauce is only on the shell not on the actual shrimp so once you get to the shrimp it’s very bland in taste. Also the macaroni salad wasn’t that good. Very bland like a mouth full of mayo. I’ve been to other places like 808 and theirs is better. The musubi was actually pretty good. All and all the best part of this dish is the shrimp it’s very tasty, but everything else just ok.

I ordered a terichicken rice plate and it was really great. The only downside was that they added too much teriyaki sauce that the rice on the bottom ended up soaking up most of the sauce. I couldn’t eat half the rice because it was too sweet and all the excess sauce made it watery.

Since moving here from Hawaii, I'm always on the lookout for some good Hawaiian grindz. Food worker Robert recommended the chicken karaage to me, so I decided to give it a go. I ordered using their tablet and was able to customize my order (no onions, no rice, please!) with ease. Kenny was so kind to include spicy mayo and sweet sauce on the side for me. The food was alright. Chicken karaage was crispy, a little overdone. Regular mac salad was good. Spicy mac salad tasted unusual (like if buffalo wings and macaroni had a baby?). Overall, a decent meal. I'm definitely stuffed. Thanks to Kenny and Robert for the great effort and service! :)

It was my first time trying Fakas Island Grill. I saw an Instagram post about the Tonkatsu and I just needed to try it. I ordered the sweet and spicy tonkatsu and it was very delicious. At some point I did get tired of the taste but maybe it’s because I got full quickly. The plate comes with rice, the chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce drizzled and a side of pasta. Overall it was good, but I don’t know if I would order the same thing again.

I got the 2 protein mixplate and I'll be honest, it wasn't as good as I initially thought it'd be. I ordered sweet chili garlic shrimp and honey sesamue katsu, but dear god was it EXTREMELY salty to the point it made my stomach hurt. The sweet chili garlic shrimp was just disappointing. The only filling part about this dish was the rice, and the amount of white rice that they put in the plate. The mac salad was also disappointing, salty and just really disgusting. I've eaten here for around 5 years on and off and completely stopped after the porkbelly was removed for shredded pork. Came back just to be even more disappointed. Idk I know it's harsh but damn this place has changed a lot.
