Came to Santa Barbara for our one year wedding anniversary and the hotel that we stayed at had this restaurant for room service. Food is great! Decided to eat at the actual restaurant the following day and the food was consistently delicious. The shakshuka was flavorful and they were able to make the eggs scrambled for me since I dont eat it poached. Customer service is wonderful and the ambience is soothing for an early morning. Their small baked goods section is also scrumptious. Definitely recommend

Love that they are so dog friendly here! We just stopped in for cocktails with our pup and we had a lovely time. I can’t comment on the food but the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked yummy. Example. The ladies sitting near me split a burger that looked great! The kitchen also split it for them in advance which is always a nice touch. The hostess was extremely friendly and attentive as well. We will happily return for drinks and hopefully food next time :)

Great breakfast and excellent service! We stopped by Goat Tree for breakfast and had a lovely meal. We ordered the breakfast croissant and the smoked salmon toast—both were fresh and delicious. Our server, Juan, was fantastic; he was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended! ...and dog friendly!

I visited Goat Tree in Santa Barbara and had a wonderful experience. I took out their coffee and cake, and both were absolutely delicious. The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the cake was fresh and perfectly sweet. The barista staff, especially Juli, provided excellent service, making the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a tasty treat on the go!

Coffee is great, food was tasty! Service was friendly during Xmas day. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

Very cute spot! The lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing. They keep the doors open so you get little finches that come inside. Very quiet when we came for breakfast but the waitress was very nice and attentive. Great ambiance and the decor of this place was really nice. Parking like all places on State Street is a problem I would advise finding a paid parking spot as most street parking is residential or for hotel guests and they do ticket.

This is my 2nd time at Goat Tree and I absolutely love it! The servers and staff are so nice and friendly. The restaurant has a great outdoor sitting area as well as inside. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. There are umbrellas to block you from the sun which is great. We ordered cranberry and orange mimosas, wild arugula salad with chicken, Gooey bacon & Brie sandwich with avocado, and the GT smash burger with seasoned fries. Everything we had was delicious and filling. When staying at the Hotel Californian, I find this is the perfect spot to walk across the street and go for a nice brunch.

Beautiful setting and atmosphere. We ate breakfast and ordered the shaksukah and protein omelet. The dishes arrived super hot, were delivered upon ready and were delicious. The cortado coffee was tasty and professional. We didn’t try the pastries but they all looked amazing.

For a fun Sunday brunch, my husband and I decided to try Goat Tree. The atmosphere was buzzing—busy in the best way—and added to the upbeat vibe. Our coffee drinks were delicious, and while the food wasn’t particularly memorable, it was definitely good enough to come back for. The real highlight, though, was our server, Meadow—thoughtful, friendly, and wonderfully professional. The food was good, but the service is what will bring us back!

Overall rating: 4.1 Visiting from NYC I visited about 7 years ago obsessed with this place. Quality has decreased significantly, a tad disappointing. The hostess did NOT like me. For no reason. I felt stared out when I asked for a table. Mind you, there were tons of places and she chose the worst spot. I don’t know how to describe it but it felt uncomfortable. The buses and supporting staff was really nice, just not the main ones. The quality of the food was okay. Missing the freshness of California. Doubt I’d come back again.

Swung by for a to-go order. Was great to have the side entrance as an alternative to a seated meal. Nice cafe with a solid food, seating (indoor and outdoor), and drinks (coffee, tea, and cocktails). Serving Brunch, Dinner and baked goods. No true gluten-free baked goods for those with Celiac due to likely cross-contamination.

This place was a good first try. We were seated right away with a table inside near the bakery window. We ordered the olives and mozzarella for starters. The steak and fries along with the pork belly rigatoni were our entrées. The steak was a great choice for the value. I highly recommend if this place if you're looking for quick and affordable

Great atmosphere. State street in Santa Barbara. Went for brunch and had breakfast. $22 per plate includes coffee. Service was a little slow to start, but was fine after ordering. Ate outside on the open patio.

The food was extremely good, the pasta being some of the best i have ever had. The prices are a bit high, but honestly worth it. The only thing negative to say was that I did not enjoy the hummus as much as in other places. The service was top tier, and this restaurant is one of my favorites in Santa Barbara.

The food was okay. A bit too greasy. The service was really lacking. Not sure if they were terribly understaffed, but we had to try and find our waiter whenever we needed anything since they did not check on us at all. The food took forever to come out despite us ordering very simple dishes and I had a mimosa spilled all over me for which we were comped a hot chocolate. We had to ask if the sandwich that also got soaked in someone else’s mimosa could get comped too since it was ruined and they complied although that took forever to resolve too. Sitting there waiting forever with mimosa all over me wasn’t very fun. For the price and location it was a really underwhelming experience and we have been there multiple times with the same disappointing experience.

Dirty place. We found a bug in one of our pastries. We complained about it and they gave us the food for free. But still, bad experience

First, the breakfast arrived quite late, which was a bit disappointing. The coffee I ordered wasn’t flavorful and didn’t meet my expectations. Additionally, the rim of the water glass they served was chipped, which raised concerns about hygiene and safety. As for the food, we ordered the Egg Frittata and Bacon Brie Toast. Unfortunately, neither dish had the taste we were hoping for and was overall unsatisfying. While the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, the quality of the food and service didn’t make it worth a return visit.

Disgusting service. We are a group of four looking for a place to eat breakfast in the town and to our displeasure we ended up stopping at the Goat Tree. The horror show started from the second we were getting seated. We waited at the seating desk where the host normally seats us but nobody came up, we had to walk up to one of the servers and ask for them to seat us. Once being seated our waiter dissapeared, we were brought water at one point, no one came up to us to take our order, no one checked in on us. It’s like we were ghosts and not there. After waiting for 30 YES THIRTY minutes we realized they forgot about us and weren’t gonna serve us. This is a extremely rare occurance where a server forgets about the customer and has maybe happened to me once in my many years of traveling. we were literally sitting there, in the blazing hot sun waiting for our server to come even talk to us or take our order. When were leaving and went to have a quick word with the group of waiter(s) at the podium (which were just standing there and chatting by the way) they just shrugged their shoulders and rolled their eyes and were acting all confused like they had no part in this I guess you don’t need any customers so that you can be this CARELESS!!!! Avoid this place like the plague!! Baffling, horrific service Who even runs this place??? The staff have a serious disciplinary problem Maybe the WORST service i have ever had the horror to come up on

**“Wow, I had just arrived in San Francisco and I was starving. I was simply looking for something to eat and ended up here. I ordered a burger and sat at a random table. When the staff brought my food, she told me I wasn’t allowed to eat there - it was takeout only. It was 4:35 PM. I asked why they didn’t tell me that from the beginning. She didn’t explain and just walked away. I hate this kind of customer service. I will never forget this place, and I’m never coming back. I regret leaving a tip.”**

The hostess had no idea how to plan and seat a group of 8 ... No concept of how to combine tables etc. she said it would be a 20 min wait, turned into 40 because she couldn't figure it out. Then the waiter took our drink order then ten min later took our food order. The food got to our table BEFORE our drinks. The food was NOT good. I ordered the avocado toast and instead of over-easy eggs, it comes with hard boiled eggs which was awful and the toast was super stale, not even warm. The server couldn't get the croissant order right and came to the table and said the desired flavor was sold out, only to double check the window to see that it was there. The lemon ricotta pancakes had no lemon or ricotta. The lattes didn't even taste like they had the coffee or the tea in them. It tastes like steamed milk. And then it took far too long to get our check. Bad service, mediocre food and overall terrible experience. NEVER coming back.
