The three sisters crave soup always hits. Squash, beans, and corn🌏🌎🌍. 8$ all you can eat. The salad bar is excellent. Grateful for this place. Had to take a moment to share

The food is okay. It really depends on your luck and the chefs mood. At least you can listen to the piano right?

pretty average usually good selection i wish they’d add coastal kale (not apple kale) to their salad bar and have a better vegetable selection would b 3 stars except the employees here are so sweet and there are cool squirrels outside so 4

Probably one of the most vegan friendly dining halls on campus. I don't like that they are closed on the weekends and no late night. But they do have the rare gems of handcrafted fruit ice cream and not something made with just syrup.

It's good, pretty average as far as the UCSC dining halls go. It does stink like sewage outside, which is off putting.

How hard is it to fix the ice machine. It has been broken since fall quarter and it is now week 3 of spring quarter. If it is not fixable, then buy a new one. The university has enough money for that. No one likes drinking warm soda. Also the water faucet is disgusting. This is where i’m supposed to be getting my water from?? edit: They got a new soda machine, but I still had to use the scary faucet :( Thank you to all my fans who viewed my photos. Google sent me an email that I reached 100 views YAY!!! I am so grateful to hit this great milestone in my life and because of you all, I have reflected upon my previous review and will raise my rating. As much as I didn't like porter, they never left me hungry (almost never, sometimes the food was a little too questionable) and they did improve a lot during the spring quarter. Though when I return in the fall, I hope I never need to step food in a dining hall again

The food is always a little cold, including the pinkish chicken. Most of the stuff tastes okay but options aren't amazing. There is almost no consistent entree items so if you like variety that's a plus, but if you don't like something there isn't really anything reliable to fall back into other than a making a sandwich or salad.

FOOD POISONING STUDENTS CONSTANTLY!!! Be completely aware this cafeteria is completely unable to cook food safely and properly. Myself and many friends have had multiple bouts of food poisoning from Porter cafeteria and the staff/management refuse responsibility and improved safety protocols. Please be careful if you eat here.

It's a college dining hall and that's what you can expect. Definitely the worst dining hall at UCSC in terms of food quality. Tries to seem sensitive to food allergies, but in reality if you are allergic to gluten or other things that are prevalent in a lot of foods, the effort you have to put in to figuring out if you can eat something is not worth it. Usually good about providing vegan and vegetarian options. The spreads and butter and whatnot that I use to spice up bland food options are really poor quality. This is all not really the fault of the people working here as much as it's a result of it being a dining hall.

by far the worst dining hall. The food is decent its every thing else about it that is not great. it closes early and on the weekends. It has long lines and there are wasps and squirrels everywhere ready to snatch your food if you go outside. its only saving grace is that its slightly larger then the other dining halls and it's closer for porter and kresge/redwood residence then rachel carson dining hall.

Everywhere outside of the indoor tables smells like actual sewage all the time, and the lines are 20+ minutes if it isn't the dead of night or 2:30-4:30. Plus, dessert is never in stock and food is slow to be restocked.
