Britannia Santa Monica Reviews
The best sports bar in Santa Monika good food delicious drinks and friendly staff. Simply great!!
love stopping here for a nice lunch. The open air patio is perfect for people watching and enjoying a beer (or two…) with your lunch. I actually really like their chicken wings here, but I usually request them to be left in the fryer a little bit longer than they normally keep them in for. Overall staff is friendly and professional and knows the menu really well too.
Staff is outstanding! The vibes of this place are welcoming and quirky. Don't sleep on the fish and chips!!!
I visited the Brit when I was in town for work and needed a place to watch an Eagles playoff game and my god was this place the perfect find. As a Philly sports fan, I felt right at home with nearly one hundred other hootin’ and hollerin’ Eagles fans, and even though the birds lost, it was still an incredible time. The DJ played great music, sound effects, lead chants, and even tossed around some Eagles merch. I mostly hung out in the main area, but they also have a pool table upstairs and a backyard patio with bleachers for watching the game. The service was okay, but it was very busy so understandable. Also, as far as a cheesesteak goes outside of Philly, this place has a great one. They also served it with plenty of really good fries which was a bonus. Definitely my favorite bar in the LA metro.
Service is outstanding & food is even better. Vibes are high and id absolutely recommend checking this place out if you are nearby. The owner is awesome too, great guy and loves his customers!
Super gas ! Do not pass- me & the crew came threw, grabbed a couple brews, ordered up the fish- it came quick - so gas that it sunk the ship - my boy had the buger- like bugurler it disapeared quick - the other thomie had the Philly, it silly but wish he got the fish 🐟 🇺🇲🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
I've had a drink at a far more than decent price from what little experience I have, pool table and full setup of the style is just fun, amazing, and a seriously beautiful let alone convenient design. There's a couple of TV's in the back with a fake grass in a nearly picnic looking settling, karaoke, pool, easy walk to the restroom with seriously fair space, clean restrooms along with everything, and the bar has many seats yet is conveniently away from each other area without it feeling like you're missing out on anything tucked away somewhere.
Was in town for the weekend to visit family and friends. After visiting the Santa Monica Pier decided to stop by this place because it was okay to smoke, a very rare thing in California. Doorman was absolutely a rockstar when it came to customer service, friendliness and inviting us to come and hang out this bar. Live music a very pretty bartender who was fast with the drinks. A great spot to chill, talk, listen, and have fun. After leaving L.A. 33 yrs ago, it's nice to see there are still spots that were like it was in the late 80s and 90s.
I came here for my 1st time . I got their breakfast burrito. It was very good . The eggs were nicely cooked and I loved the potatoes inside. Very good size burrito. Filled me up for the rest of the day . It's in a nice location and I like how they designed the interior. Great atmosphere Very welcoming and chill.
This is one of my favorite pubs, use to always come here for happy hour. The food has changed since I last came (a bit skimpy and the wings taste different) the drinks and service is great. If you're a newbie talk to George he is the best!
Nice little pub, food was good. Couldn’t quite handle it when it was very busy (100s of Wales fans for Wales v Mexico). Edit: visited again in Sep 2018. Great football menu, chicken wrap + fries for $11. Got a free pint for some reason... think the barman lost a bet or something with a group of Am. football fans. Good experience again.
My wife and I had lunch there We had a chicken Cesar salad and fish and chips. I had been there before it was her first time. I am glad it servived the pandemic . They have great food.
Came here for Happy Hour, which runs from 4 - 7pm, Monday - Friday. HH is as follows: $7 Domestic Drafts $7 Well Drinks $7 Well Wine $8 Craft & Import Beers $9 Guinness $7 Food: Fish (3) & Chips Buffalo Wings (3) with Fries Nachos (add meat $1.50) Chicken Strips with Fries I was not very impressed by the expensive beer pricing, but my brother thoroughly enjoyed his pint of Guinness. I ordered the Fish & Chips, which has 3 small pieces of fish, but they were admittedly delicious. Place had a bit of a grungy feel to it, but I can see how it is needed and welcome in a place like Santa Monica.
Kinda slow to serve, but whatever. Apparently none of them are actually from Philly or even real Eagles fans, they just know they can make money off it. The owner’s drunk son told us, and honestly I felt kinda bad not supporting a legit Birds fan bar.
I was turned away for wearing Saints gear by a bouncer named Wayne. He said I cannot guarantee your safety amongst Eagles Fans. He said I would love to let you in but I hope you understand. He said you will called be “asshole” and I can’t protect you from it. Absolutely flabbergasted by the behavior. He then asked me to consider another place that might be more hospitable to me.
I can see why Philly fans are starting to go elsewhere now. Once was a good place to watch the games but now it feels like they taking advantage of Philly fans. Fake Philly bar. Question peoples jerseys of Philly teams because they can’t even identify other Philly sports team!!!! Now I see why people have started meeting up for the games at other spots. Food is bang average which wasn’t an issue you knew what your getting but now with poor food, workers that don’t know a Philly baseball, basketball or soccer jersey and ask you take it off, and slow service it’s now a dud for me. I’ll be joining the rest of the people that left to meet elsewhere for next season!
I’ve got one thing to say, im a philly native, this bar is a bunch of losers, they wouldn’t let my friend in on game day because he was wearing a saints jersey. If you want to go to a safe space that doesn’t reflect philly sports fandom at all, this is your spot.
Blonde woman bartender ignored me and my group of friends when we went to order to drinks and request songs for karaoke. When we were going to leave, she stopped us and demanded our ID’s like we didn’t already get them checks by the security. When I went to go order my drink that I never received in the first place, she said “Can you wait?” and went to go sing a song for karaoke. Not a fun experience.
It states on the menu that the fish-and-chips is cod t.But I knew right away that it wasn't Cod.When I asked what it was I was told it was swai. and I said to the owner, a short one lady.I'm confused, the menu says Cod.She started screaming at me.Don't worry about it.I'll take it off your menu. What a bummer.
The bartender on Sunday gets five stars. Atmosphere is cool, but it's just a pub. The fish and chips... That was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The worst. I wanted to try there Philly cheese steak egg rolls because that sounded cool, but after the fish and chips I knew I shouldn't even try.
