Kooka Sarzana Reviews
Very good Japanese restaurant. Extra fresh sushi. Impeccable service, very good wine. Beautiful setting, very good address. Not to be missed in Salzana
Wonderful experience. Booked last-minute on Saturday evening, we were warmly welcomed by Maurizio, who seated us on the lower level of the restaurant. The menu was interesting and creative: the ravioli with scampi, vegetables, and cheese were fabulous, and the mixed tempura was generous and delicious. Special mention goes to the Elai Legacy maki. Excellent Bosoni Vermentino accompanied everything. Thanks to Maurizio for pampering us with such rare grace and professionalism. The price was absolutely reasonable. For me, one of the best Japanese cuisine experiences of recent times. We will definitely be back.
The best I have had in Italy. Very tasty and delicate. We will be back.
One of the good place for Japanese foods in Sarzana, great ambiance
Kooka is an à la carte sushi restaurant in the historic center of this town in the province of La Spezia, where we've been several times. We're on the safe side here: we're always pampered by the service, which has been staffed by the same team for years—never change a winning team! The professionalism and courtesy with which they guide guests throughout the dinner hasn't changed either, while maintaining a casual, non-embarrassing tone. They'll be able to recommend wines or explain each dish. Fantastic. Regarding the location, the restaurant has several indoor dining rooms for the winter, but the real magic is in the summer: you'll dine in a wonderful indoor garden overlooking the ancient city walls. We've been to Kooka countless times and have never dreamed of a rating lower than 5 out of 5 stars. We believe it's the best sushi restaurant in the province of La Spezia; we'd love to see the creativity that characterizes uramaki explored elsewhere on the menu.
This restaurant in the heart of Sarzana offers a lovely, private garden where summer evenings are a delight, in addition to the indoor dining areas. 🍽️ The quality of the food is far superior to any other sushi restaurant in the city, and the ingredients are fresh and exquisite. There are rolls with black truffle, lobster, eel, and much more. The special maki pairings are sophisticated and unusual. Takeout is also available. We ordered: Extra 20-piece bento box, rice with shrimp and vegetables, and desserts: Nutella roll and Agata's sweet, a bottle of still water, and a glass of wine. The staff is friendly and attentive. The final bill is proportionate to the quality. I absolutely recommend it.
My husband and I stubbled onto this restaurant while staying in Sarzana and it was the best find! The atmosphere was amazing and the food was incredible!
This restaurant in the heart of Sarzana offers a charming and private garden where it's a delightful place to dine on summer evenings. The quality of the food is decidedly superior to any other sushi restaurant in the city: the ingredients are fresh and carefully selected. There are rolls with black truffle, lobster, eel, and much more. The special maki pairings are sophisticated and unusual. The final bill is commensurate with the quality: for a dinner for two, expect to pay between €80 and €100 if you only drink water!
Super!!!
The best for sushi in La Spezia area. Go try it!
Kooka is one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever encountered in Europe. The sushi was great, the service was incredibly friendly and very caring. The atmosphere was also high class. Another amazing experience was their ginger ice cream, which was very unique to me. If you want to have a good time with quality Japanese food, Kooka is the place. Just be aware that this performance has its price.
One of the best japanese restaurants I know: very fresh ingredients, good vibe/service and even a zen garden for the summer under the city's ancient walls. Strongly recommended.

We stumbled upon it by chance, and it was a truly wonderful discovery! Excellent food and friendly, attentive service. The young man who welcomed us was also able to reassure us about our dietary needs (celiac disease). Highly recommended!
Excellent place and very friendly staff. Compared to other places where you can eat Japanese cuisine, the difference in quality is notable (in a positive sense). The fish is excellent. There are some very unique and good sushi interpretations (combinations of ingredients), not found in other places. One star less for the price, which is higher than average. However, to maintain this quality, these types of prices are necessary. The only negative aspect of the place (for my tastes) was the lighting: it creates a nice atmosphere because it is very soft, but at the same time it made it difficult for me to read the menu because it was quite dark. Obviously these are "little things."

The price is above average for the quality and location. The portions are certainly above average for classic "Japanese" restaurants, but they don't justify it. I won't be returning.
