The Point Scotts Valley Reviews
the food is great! i got the tri-tip sandwich and fry’s definitely will be coming back edit: came back for the asadawas not disappointed the meat is high quality and the toppings and portions are great for the price and the salsa they put in the asada frieda is good flavor and mild spice
Came in here midday with my bf as I had heard that they have the best breakfast burritos and we had been looking for a good breakfast burrito for awhile now. We actually didn’t end up getting breakfast burritos at all, but I did get a beef burrito and upon asking if they had pickled jalapeños as I like to eat my burritos with them, he offered to put the jalapeños inside of the burrito, which I had never thought of or tried, but I must admit this is one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. Jalapeños inside of burrito = game changer! The portion was great too as I was able to save some for later :) my boyfriend said the fish and chips were really good and crispy like he likes it too. Service was fantastic as well. Looking forward to trying the breakfast burritos in the future and perhaps the burgers as I’ve seen many great reviews for those too. I’m happy that our experience confirmed all of the great things I have been hearing about this place!
Come here for the breakfast Burritos, but that chopped cheese special might be one of the best sandwiches I've had in town.

Went here for my birthday for the first time and had to look at the menu in advance because there's so many options! Very nice staff and very good prices. My mom got a panini, and I got a breakfast burrito. Both of us had leftovers for the next day it was so much food! So happy to have such an amazing restaurant local!
Run, don't walk over here and get a breakfast burrito. Get a small first because even that will be absolutely full of delicious filling, sauces, and cheese to your hearts desire. You may even have leftovers from the small 😂 Super awesome dude runs the place, good for a friendly chat while your burrito is being made. Definitely don't pass this place up 🔥
This spot is SO DELICIOUS. The food alone is worth returning again and again, but the cherry on top is the nice man who usually works the register and typically wears a beanie. He is such a kind, genuine person. Please give this place all your money! :)
Excellent food, most wide variety of options I’ve seen. And they are all great. Very fair prices. Amazing staff, perfect service and very friendly owner as well. 100% worth detouring for.
I am super happy they decided to bring their business to Scotts Valley (my town). The food is delicious! Customer service is fantastic! Their schedule 6am to 9pm is awesome. This way it gives people the chance to get some food before, during and after work. The prices are very reasonable. The menu offers a large variety of dishes, drinks, coffee, tea and pastries. They bake their own pastries and are sooo good! They also have bottles of soda, not fountain drinks, which are disgusting. It is a very small place but it is pretty comfortable. I met the owner, his assistant Ninpha and Gino (owner's son). They were all super friendly and nice! Love this place!!! There are 2 cooks in the back and I ADMIRE THEM! I don't know how they can memorize the huge menu.🙉🙉🙉😱😱😱
So I've got food from here 3 times now and I love it! The burgers are fantastic, the chicken sandwich is amazing and the sauce they put on it is on point. The breakfast burritos are so freaking good! The owner and his son are amazing, always friendly and kind. The menu has so many options so there is something for everyone. You can get food to go or eat there. I'm stoked we finally got a great food spot in SV!
The Point has quickly become my go-to lunch spot in Scotts Valley. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent. I’m hooked on their Cali Burrito — it’s packed with flavor and always hits the spot. My wife swears by their burgers, which are juicy, perfectly cooked, and taste like something you’d get at a much fancier place. Their pastries are also worth mentioning — fresh, flaky, and the perfect treat after lunch (or to take home for later). The customer service is always top-notch too — friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming every time we come in. Whether I’m grabbing something quick on the go or sitting down for a relaxed lunch, The Point never disappoints. Highly recommend this local gem!
Im not confident i actually chewed my little pizza panini before I swallowed the whole thing. It was crazy good. I get the comment about the fries potentially needing seasoning, but I think they just need a dipping sauce like other places. I dont think theyre actually underseasoned in comparison. Im excited to try out the other menu items next time
Absolutely incredible food!!! Officially my favorite spot in Scotts Valley/Santa Cruz. Amazing breakfast burritos and burritos. The birria burrito is fire. And it’s 95% all halal! Owner is an incredible person who plans on having it 100% halal soon. It’s a go out of your way kind of place.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands down the best birria burrito I’ve ever had—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. Their asada loaded fries are also next level, seriously the best I’ve tried anywhere. On top of that, Adnan always gives amazing customer service and makes you feel welcome every time. This place never disappoints! 🌯🍟🔥
Amazing! If you want the BEST Chicken Sandwich in Santa Cruz county, this place's got you. HUGE Generous portion. Fresh made fried chicken cutlet (not frozen). We've tried other things here and the food in consistently amazing. Super friendly staff and a menu that has something for everyone. Service can take a little longer since it's a small shop during rush hour but during non peak hours, they're quick. Love to see this place opened in Scotts Valley - Welcome to town guys.

First time I came to this restaurant they had a 30-minute wait because they had a order for 100 breakfast burritos I took a half an hour. What a great start for this restaurant that just opened up in Scotts valley that has zero options for breakfast all day. I would 100% come back here all the time. If they don't have a 100 breed of order in front of the other one takes about 10 minutes to get your food. I hope this place stays for a long time. 4 service because there's always room for improvement.
Man I really wanted to like this place since it’s local and has gotten decent reviews. I’ve now been twice and got the breakfast burrito the first time and today was the Pleasure Point Burger. The problems started at the register where I think it was a new person who didn’t speak good English and didn’t understand that I wanted the steak fries instead of the wedges. The two people behind me also had problems ordering. The burger itself was fine. The quality of the meat was fine but the issue was it was lacking in flavor. It just needed some seasoning and sauce. The fries seemed frozen and they put zero seasoning on them. And they have the table salt that just bounces off fries so that was a bust. I basically ate a handful of fries and threw most of them away. If I had brought my own seasoning salt I could have salvaged them. Given this is now the second time I’ve had mediocre unseasoned food, I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. A real bummer since their menu looks great.
Worst Tamale plate I have ever had, absolute travesty. My partner enjoyed the shrimp burrito and I liked the bbq tritip sandwich but the bread was too thin and it was a mess. The staff was friendly and I'd love to see improvement in the food and have a reason to return.

Heard a lot of hype and positive things about The Point before going, but it's sadly not true; at least in this first experience/impression. They seem to not have enough staff. I waited ~10 minutes around noon on a Friday in front of the register while the only person behind the register seemed preoccupied making 1 cup of coffee in the espresso machine and poking around the store (unsure what she was doing but it did not seem important). Didn't even bother acknowledging her non-essential preoccupied-ness when she "finally noticed me." It's lunch time, come on? There were a few people waiting behind me as well so just poor customer service here, but for noon on a Friday it was not very busy at all. They had 2 people in the kitchen working at about 70% efficiency and seemed to enjoy chatting rather than working. Finally got to order their current special, Birria Burrito. The person behind the counter got all confused about what the price was, which was odd to see. Flavor was around 5/10, portion was 10/10, however it was horrendously dry. It was a burrito filled with just pinto beans, birria, cilantro and onions. They need to add some sort consommé or provide something as a side to combat the overall dryness. Also, purchased two cookies - chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. Both were stale beyond belief. They have tons of baked goods, but knowing they can't even make cookies or provide a decently fresh chocolate chip cookie, I would not recommend buying any other option. Only thing that gets them 2/5 is the portion of the burrito was substantial and they do have a lot of options; regardless if they are edible or not. Pricing is on the higher side as well, but the quality of the food does not justify this. I will give them a second chance sometime distant in the future in the hopes they fix some simple things, but overall quite disappointed with how much this place gets glazed.
WORST burritos we ever had! The other burrito reviews cannot be real. That’s impossible. This is California, so everyone has access to good burritos; in my experience, locals have educated tastes around this dish. So there is no way those reviews are not manipulated somehow. I ordered a steak burrito, and I received a ham one. I didn’t complain because I know the struggle in the restaurant biz. A ham burrito can be a great one too, but NOT HERE! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. I apologize for the blurry ones. But overall: - Old, dry, overcooked potatoes. Felt like they were cooked days ago. - Dry and SUPER overcooked/burnt eggs (see pics). - Flavorless. Every bite felt bland. We needed a lot of salsa (which was basic, too). - The cheese was not melted (see pic). - Too much tortilla wrap (basic tortilla taste too, no freshness in it; you can tell it was warmed up on an oily, dirty grill). To the owner: please put some care into your restaurant. Scotts Valley deserves a better food scene. To customers: AVOID! There are so many great Mexican restaurants around the area. Take your money somewhere it’s worth it.

Unfortunately I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment. I dined here recently and ordered a sandwich with a side- the total came out to be about $30 for a sandwich and some fries..... a little steep, but I figured that if the quality was there, then it would be worth it. I could not have been more wrong. My sandwich not only radiated an awful flavor throughout my mouth, the meat placed upon it was rancid. It nearly made me regurgitate my last meal along with the current one! Charging $1 for a rancid meal is bad enough, charging $30 borders on insanity. For the sake of your health, I would avoid this place entirely.
I have been to the point twice. The first time I ordered their tri tip sandwich. It was completely oversauced and stuffed with so much stuff that the bread fell apart. I had to eat it in pieces. So for the twenty five bucks I spent, I basically got some tri tip and some crust. The second time I went, I ordered one of their Panini. Sandwiches. It took thirty five minutes to make it. It tasted like cough drops. I think they have way too many things on the menu for them to cook them competently and only one cook in the kitchen. They seem like nice guys. But if they're gonna survive, they really need to get their act together. Cut the menu down to something. You can manage hire enough cooks to get the food out quickly. The charge essentially thirty dollars for sandwich in a coke.I would expect it to be edible and on time.
Unfortunately the quality of this place has drastically gone down from when they had first opened. When they first opened they put a lot of attention and care in the food they were serving their customers but now they just quickly put something together and hand it off. It’s too bad because if they were consistent with the quality and how they serve their meals they could have kept a lot of their customers.
