Apollonia's Italian Kitchen Shire Blvd Reviews
The service was exceptional! And the food too! I can't wait to go back and try something different!
The atmosphere was comfortable like a favorite chair. The staff was pleasant, and available but not intrusive. We went on a Saturday night and took our family(youngest-11, 13, 15, and 16) and there were plenty of choices for our picky eater as well as a decent kids menu too. I had something new- pear gorgonzola raviolis. Oh my, my tastebuds were in heaven! The meatballs were exceptionally good, as was the marsala sauce. The fried artichoke hearts were a treat as well. A suggestion for a large party(we had 7) order a small pizza as an appetizer- especially if you like lots of flavor and thin crust. A special treat was the live music- a talented vocalist by the name of Shane Kelly was there. He performed some Sinatra standards, and a wide selection of 1945-1965 classics all with an easy on the ears baritone that was sublime. Catch him if you can. Overall it was a great night with delicious food, friends(made some new ones) and family that was one for the memory books!
This was such a lovely spot to stumble upon. It has such a relaxed atmosphere. Tasty food, fabulous service, everything about it is top tier. Great vibes all around. We came in hungry and tense, and left satisfied and full of giggles. Best place to go with family on a Friday night in Richardson.
We stopped in to try this place and were pleasantly surprised from start to finish. The decor is so cute and the food and service (Nick) were both amazing. The live music was the icing on the cake! Thanks for providing us with a great experience & looking forward to visiting again
Apollonia's Italian Kitchen offers a delightful dining experience that goes beyond just the food. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The decor strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and classic Italian charm, with soft lighting and cozy seating that encourages conversation and relaxation. The food is simply outstanding, offering a range of traditional Italian dishes with a fresh, contemporary twist. Don’t miss their wood-fired pizzas and decadent desserts, which round out the meal beautifully. Adding to the ambiance is live music, which elevates the evening without overpowering conversation. The soft tunes create the perfect backdrop for a relaxing night out, making Apollonia’s not just a restaurant, but a true dining destination. Whether you're there for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a casual night with friends, Apollonia's Italian Kitchen is a must-visit spot.
Amazing service today on a slow rainy Wednesday after Labor Day. We wandered in and were greeted by the most amazong server, and had a lunch that was scrumptious and portions were large. The chicken wedding soup was homemade, no boullion cubes and MSG - perfection as was the linguine and meat sauce with chicken and shrimp. The tiramisu was perfection and I recommend the italian lemon cream cake. The three of us inhaled 2 desserts! Go! Makes any Joe's or Olive Garden gross to ever return to.
Awesome Friday, datenite!!!! From the moment you walk in, you hear a voice that makes you feel like you are in Vegas . This awesome singer takes your breath away with the sounds of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. His voice performances prepare you for the great service and delicious food that is coming next. The service was awesome. We had a very attentive and friendly server. I apologize for not remembering her name, but she is captured in one of the videos being awesome!!!!The food looked so good, and it was very delicious As we all know, we eat with our eyes, and I can definitely say they were full that night!!!! We had such a great date night. Thank you so much, Apollonia's for making our hearts and stomach smile!!!! We will be back!!!! Very happy customers 😀 Barry & Martha
Apollonia’s Italian Kitchen has amazing food and great service! We had a late lunch/early dinner. Must try - eggplant rollatini! The calamari come with fried habanero peppers and a spicy dipping sauce. The Boss’s Drink was sweet yet full bodied - a must try as well. The shrimp risotto - 🤌🏾 chef’s kiss - an absolutely yes!
Awesome meal, service and get-together on the patio at Apollonia's last night! Check out the tasty meal pics and big thanks goes to restaurant management for accommodating our patio request in nippy winter weather! They brought two heaters and we had a great time. Appetizers, salads and dinners were all excellent.
This was a great experience. The server was awesome and there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. Lasagna was huge, enough for two people. The Brownie was the nest dessert ... cannoli was different, not my favorite. But great meal all around.
Guys. This IS the spot. I always smell the goodness when I'm at my chiropractor next door...but seriously. WOW! Everything is handmade. The pasta, the sauces, the desserts, the salad dressing, THE BREAD!!! OMG the bread is amazing! This is our first time here and my husband didn't talk until he finished his lasagna. Then he said, "oh my God, baby...this lasagna was SO good!" We did the 2 for Tuesday special. 1 Large salad, 2 pastas, bottle of wine for $39. That's a deal! The lasagna portions are huge (I shared with my mom and still had some to take home). There's also 1/2 price wine bottles on Wednesdays. Great food. Great atmosphere. GREAT SERVICE! We are definitely coming back! We dug in to the food too quick for pics, but the Italian Wedding cake survived long enough for pics.
The Margherita Pizza was really, really good (shown is the 12 inch pizza). The quality of the pizza is much higher than several other chains and non-chains I've been to in the neighboring Murphy and Wylie area. There is a lot of cheese in it which is great, and to note, the bottom crust is charred, which most people like, and for me even I didn't mind, and I also find that in some cases a char is necessary to avoid undercooking anyway. Cannolis are awesome, as well.
The Good: The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The place has a great atmosphere and the music selection is perfect for the place. The Bad: Nothing really. The Ugly: Nothing really. Recommendations: The specials board wasn’t the easiest to read from where we were. Maybe a specials paper for each table would be helpful.
Our experience started off strong with appetizers (trio bruschette & fried burrata) … then it went downhill from there. We were 3/4 done with our apps when we noticed we hadn’t received a bread basket, however the table next to us got one fairly quickly. After asking our server about it, she dropped off a basket with 4 rolls. They looked/tasted dry and felt dense. No butter in sight. I ordered gnocchi alla sorrentina, and my boyfriend ordered farfalle alla vodka. Upon trying my dish, all I could think about was how it tasted funky… almost fishy! I kept mixing my food around thinking maybe I hit a bad spot. Nope. I had my boyfriend try it, and he agreed. Not only was the taste off, the texture was all over the place! Big chunks of crunchy onion (!!) and whole cherry tomatoes that weren’t even entirely softened. The gnocchi itself was not impressive. Would not recommend this dish. My boyfriend’s plate was slightly more bearable, however there were also big chunks of crunchy onion (seriously, I guess the chef really likes onion!) and a LOT of sun dried tomato chunks that got to be really annoying after a while. Our waiter was kind enough to take my dish off the receipt (🙏🏻). I ordered their tiramisu dessert drink to end the night and was also not impressed. It tasted watered down. The lady finger was a nice touch though. Overall, I would not go back, nor could I recommend. I wish I could receive a refund on the whole experience. Roman Cucina, I’m sorry we cheated on you!
I was excited to visit this place because I had seen it in Food Network some time back. It was said that they have the best spaghetti & meatballs, so that's was part of my order. The lady who served my order was EXCELLENT! She greeted each person that came in, she waited tables, answered the phone & she also made a phone call to cover because they were going to be short staffed. My meatballs tasted burnt & the sauce was plain without any seasoning. The fried mozzarella was also burnt. They were a good size, but because of the burn it wasn't good to eat. My wife liked the tomato basil soup. I'm very disappointed in the food, but mauve it was an off day since it was short staffed. I did arrive when the store 1st opened. The only reason I even gave it a 2 star was because of the young lady & the pizza was excellent. Maybe we'll try again, but it won't be anytime soon.
