The lo mein is SO good without being oily. And dumplings are fluffy, crab rangoons are lightly fried too! Condiments are in fair proportion to food. Pricing is fair. 2 people = $23 (with tax included here). And we had a 10 min wait time for the food! They deserve more 5 star ratings. It's a good place!

I'm not a local, but I called in late for a pickup and arrived 10 minutes after closing. When I arrived, the cook was already in his car, ready to leave, and asked me if I was the one who called in for the pickup. I said yes. He exited his vehicle and didn't hesitate to make my food. I felt very fortunate not only because it was the only place to get food but also because my family and I drove here for three hours straight without food. Needless to say, the food was delicious, and I promised to come back the next day. China House saved the night.

The crab Rangoon is FRESHLY MADE. The lo main is saucy , not dry like most. The staff is friendly and fast. One of the very few places to not sacrifice flavor to save a buck these days.

I used to get wonton soup in wurtsboro until recently bc the last time it was sooo salty. Tried it here and it was very good 👍 I'm from the city where I'm spoiled and know what great food tastes like. I will try other items next time.

All the food I've had is fresh and the service has been amazing. I've tried their dumplings, chicken, beef with broccoli, and other dishes, nothing has been disappointing all of it has met my expectations or succeeded it. Good place to eat, older reviews are from people who complain over anything

I dont know why China House doesn't have better reviews. The people who work there are always very kind and the food is solid chinese food. The sesame tofu is fried to perfection & the sauce is great too. They are cheap and offer generous portions. Highly recommend the crab rangoons too. They gave so many in a serving and they were all large and seasoned well. This is a great Chinese place.

The food was all fresh. They were extremely generous with the portions of food for the cost. I’d share a photo but I ate it all too fast. Staff were very courteous and polite too.

I was skeptical of this place from the reviews, so I had to share mine. Chinese places really can't be rated on the same scale as other restaurants, but versus each other. This was shockingly hands down some of the best Chinese I've had north of the city. It's easy to assume they all use the same exact suppliers, but this place had different and unique items. The spring rolls were the best I've ever had anywhere. The crab rangoons were star shaped, not the triangles. Everything was fried to crispy perfection. All of the stir-fry's were well portioned and mixed and had great flavor. They didn't forget any items, which seems to happen at almost every Chinese restaurant these days. It was ready quickly, it was hot, it was packed neatly in a box instead of a bag so I could see everything was there. A lot of these reviews mention how rude they are, but I did not find that to be the case at all. Both the woman at the front and the cook said hello and thanked me. Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from or if they merely stepped up their game, but they deserve 5 stars. Top notch Chinese food.

Dinner for two came out to about $20. The general Tso's was crispy and not too sweet. The soy sauce used in the pork lo mein was very tasty. I was met with a smile and left with a thank you.

I don't know how this place has such bad reviews but very tasty food maybe it's just a crabby people of Ellenville. 4 stars cuz no napkins, fork, tried to give me 1 duck sauce for a whole meal. But otherwise good quality

Decent food but way too salty. The wonton egg drop soup is good. The egg foo young and lemon chicken were good. The sesame chicken was flavorful but tough to chew. The egg rolls and spring rolls are good. The pork fried rice was good. Our order of $65 lasted for 4 days, so the value is there.

The food is good however I haven’t been there in a few years because they were very stingy with condiment packets. As one customer said 1 packet of duck sauce for entire meal. When I asked for a couple more the server was very annoyed and made me feel uncomfortable. So I go else where.

Found a hard piece of metal in the food. Called to let them know and see what can be done, the lady at first seemed like she didn’t understand but then changed to “I give you discount next time.” No offer to remake or refund. Seems like this wasn’t the first time based on how she handled it. Never eating there again.

The lady is very nasty with her mouth, poor customer service, she does not understand English and provide wrong orders and on top of that if you go back to claim your correct order she yells and disrespect the customers... very bad place to eat, go to Kerhonson chinese the services is excellent and the owners are very sweet people.

Absolutely the worst! Ordered the lunch special and we had to ask to give us our drinks. They Charge for .60 cents per packet of sauce. Food was cold, small, quality was terrible! Lady was unfriendly and rude. Never again!

I never went to a Chinese restaurant and did not recieve utensils, had to ask for all the sauces and was thrown in box 2 exactly for 2 people one each loloo, noodles 1 package had a measly 6 noodles, literally in there and stale! The containers of food were not even filled to top! Totally turned off!! I want to support my town and like to eat and shop here, however when you have bad additudes bad work ethics I can't support that!! Do better!!

The wife customer service skills are unacceptable. She is rude ALL the time. Never ate my food for dine in because the floors are dirty. However, you are not given any utensil or napkins with takeout, never. Twice they over charged and said, sorry. Wife stays battling with PAID customers. How dare you? So in rush to take next order even if it entails skipping next customer in line. Extra condiments, forget it..., they only give you what they expect you to use. I went on many days, different times same poor attitude.

You try to be nice and let then know that they served me with hair in my food, and the woman laughs at me, like I put the hair in the food. Didn't even offer to give me my money back shaking my head. How many times in a year has that happen to me, in your restaurant, please wear a hair net, that's protocol in your business, won't eat in your establishment ever.

My mother, brother, & I came here for lunch for the first time. Worst service we absolutely had. The woman serving us was unnecessarily rude, giving us a dirty look when we decided to eat in instead of ordering take out even though the place was empty save for a few people picking up orders. Our white rice was left cold on a paper plate & we had to ask TWICE for 3 plates. No knives or fortune cookies & hardly any napkins as well. The food was overly priced & very bland. The place wasn't overly clean either. How this place is still in business is beyond me. We are never coming back.
