Cau del Vinyet Sitges Reviews
El panel de miel que tienen a cada día en el desayuno me ha enamorado.
We had a group lunch and it was fantastic. Everything was very good, the lunch, the staff and the room were unbeatable.
We ate a paella, specifically the seafood one, and it was exquisite. It's been a long time since I've eaten such a delicious paella.
I have no complaints, everything is delicious and Anabel's service is excellent 👏🏼
The hotel restaurant is fantastic. We used to go there for drinks years ago, and now they've added a very good tasting menu. I highly recommend it for its location, the food, and the service.
The paella portions were quite small
Good quality, slightly high prices. Excellent service. We'll be back.
We had a decent lunch of tapas. Potatoes bravas, mussels, nachos with guacamole, and a pizza margherita. We got everything quickly. The pizza was excellent, the pumps were average. The mussels and potatoes were not at all salty, but that's apparently traditional. They gave us salt packets.
No more food after 22 hrs in Spain, seriously?
We had dinner at Cau del Vinyet, the restaurant attached to a 4-star hotel, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. While the setting is elegant and the staff is genuinely kind and professional, these positives were not enough to justify the overall dining experience. The main issue is the price: the restaurant is far too expensive for what it offers. Some dishes, like the filet, the cod, and the Russian salad, were well-prepared and enjoyable. However, the quality and portion size varied significantly from one dish to another — all while having the same high price. The paella was particularly disappointing: very small, overpriced, and lacking flavor. Even worse was the breaded cutlet topped with cheese and ham, which was practically inedible. To make matters more frustrating, the menus shown on Google are outdated — both in terms of pricing and available options. What we found most inconvenient, especially as hotel guests, was the lack of dining alternatives, which becomes a real issue for families with children. For a restaurant inside a four-star hotel, we expected much more consistency, value, and flexibility.
What a total disaster! Our experience at this restaurant was a complete failure. We decided to celebrate a birthday there, trusting in its reputation and location, but we felt completely ripped off. I'll start with the so-called "Pica Pica," which was poor in both quantity and quality. Although we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, the situation worsened when we had to send back some spoiled mussels. While it's understandable that these problems occasionally occur, it was disappointing that the replacement, clams, were also subpar, both in quality and quantity for the size of our group. Of all the starters, only the croquettes and the Andalusian-style calamari were acceptable; the rest, especially the mussels, clams, and the tomato with tuna belly, were a complete letdown. The situation didn't improve with the main courses. The rice dishes, which should be the restaurant's strong point, turned out to be a disaster. Both the seafood paella and the baby octopus rice were a complete failure, and the fideuà was completely inedible. Furthermore, we discovered that the menu offered at the restaurant did not match the one on their website, where there were supposedly six starters, but we only found four of them on our menu (Andalusian-style calamari, tomato with tuna belly, croquettes, and mussels, the latter replaced by clams). It wasn't clear whether we were on a four- or six-starter menu, but regardless, the dishes didn't match. Although the staff tried to improvise with some alternatives, none of them matched either menu, and we weren't even offered to see the menu. However, I must commend the waiters' kindness and willingness to try to resolve the situation. In short, this experience was a real nightmare. We felt ripped off not only by the quality of the food but also by the lack of transparency regarding the menu information. We definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will never return. It's a shame that such attractive places engage in this type of scam. I know they'll continue to have customers because of their prime location and because they're ultimately a beachfront hotel, but it's unacceptable to deceive customers (because this is called DECEIVING, in capital letters) with a menu for which my family, 11 people, paid a total of €480, which didn't even come close to the quality of a €15 menu (not that it was even close, since I've had infinitely better €15 menus). We're talking about a €43.10 menu (excluding VAT) in a 4-star hotel. Obviously, this is just my opinion (and that of several other tables in the restaurant that day). It's a shame that such unpleasant experiences occur in such beautiful places. One expects a memorable experience; it's essential that customers are respected and that the service and food offered are commensurate with the prices charged. Unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite, leaving us with a bitter taste and a feeling of having been deceived and scammed. We hope the restaurant takes steps to improve and prevent other diners from experiencing the same disappointment we did.
