Acapulco Mexican Restaurant Soldotna Reviews
Warm, thin, slightly salt chips paired with the mild and flavorful salsa makes this some of the best chips and salsa I’ve had in Alaska. The service was warm and friendly. Food came out quick. I ordered the Mole enchiladas with chicken and black beans instead of pinto. Everything was cooked perfectly and the mole sauce was excellent. Full of flavor, slightly nutty, and with a subtle undertone of heat (but not too spicy). Highly recommend stopping by Acapulco Mexican restaurant if you’re in the area and looking for great, authentic Mexican food in Suldotna, Alaska.
We drove from Wasilla to try this Mexican restaurant in Soldotna, and it was absolutely worth the drive. The food was delicious and tasted so fresh. Everything was clean and well kept, which made the experience even better. The service was amazing — very friendly and attentive staff. We will definitely be back!
This place is amazing. I got the Chupacabra Burrito with Spicy Chipotle sauce. It was absolutely delicious. I haven't had this good of Mexican food in a long time. The waitress was fantastic and the owner/manager was checking in on me multiple times and made sure the food was great. (He helped me pick the Chipotle Spicy) after I told him I wanted Spicy. I highly recommend this place!! So Good!!
I ate here for dinner with friends. Rafael was very attentive. Best mexican restaurant in Alaska so far.
Over the top customer service. The food is great Mexican fare and is fast, tasty and hot. Fresh made chips and salsa and they kept refilling at no extra charge. Will be going back.
It was already a good place but now is the only real option in Soldotna for Mexican food. The very popular Pablo's is now closed and Don Jose wasn't open either when we were in town. Like any restaurant in Alaska during High season you're going to spend double what you would in the lower 48 but the quality is very good and the portions were very fair. It's located outside of the main city just past Fred Meyers. You have to look for the entrance or use your GPS because it comes up quickly as you're heading east.
This is the best Mexican food on the peninsula. I have been going here since I was a little kid and it continues to get better. Best customer service I’ve had. One of the main workers bought my family’s dinner tonight because we are regulars. We appreciate them and they appreciate us. Raph and Louis are the best. Much love to Acapulcos and the staff there
Kat was such an amazing server! And the food was fantastic. We initially had a different server that we never ended up even seeing. The hostess and Kat took us under their wing and made it worth the wait.
This place was awesome. I had the beef quesadilla. The atmosphere is fantastic. Our server Cheyenne made us feel like family as well as the rest of the staff. Everyone loved their food, i.e., halibut fajitas, chicken taco and burrito, halibut and chips, chicken chimichanga, and tortilla soup. Definitely recommend this place.
Our second time visiting while fishing in Soldotna. This family run (?) restaurant is wonderful. We sat out on the back patio and enjoyed fresh air. The wait staff, all of them, were so kind, generous, accommodating, and helpful! And then...ALL the food was tasty and well made. The Carne Asada was DELICIOUS! And if you like a salsa bar, it's top notch!! Excellent place.
Awesome Enchilladas con Verde. Super fresh ingredients, friendly and attentive staff, fun ambience, awesome Mountain View’s towards Kenai off the back porch. Food didn’t leave oneself feeling heavy or bloated because everything was so fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant Alaska has some fantastic Mexican cuisine!!! A+
Good food options, Nice service, place now has a wine and beer menu, no other alcoholic beverages. Housemade salsa options, supper yummy. Chips are fresh and crispy.
I normally love this place but last visit was just hectic and unpleasant. Tried to order drinks and the waiter told us she is sending someone else because she is not allowed to talk beer orders. Never sent anyone. 15 min later the next waiter showed up that took our order. Food arrived in to-go containers and I needed to ask for a plate and transfer the food myself. Odd…
I wish Pancho’s didn’t close down but here we are. My mom got a grilled chicken burrito that she said tasted dry, bland, and unseasoned, and that I say looks like it was made by a white guy in the back trying to make Mexican food. My fajitas were not seasoned great either, paying $35 for it was a huge disappointment. There was no hot sauce at the bar and basically overall just wouldn’t come back. I lived in California for a while with direct access to the real deal Mexican food, and this place was not a great representation, unfortunately. Playa Azul is our new go-to for Mexican food.
Typical Mexican atmosphere. Horrible service, very inattentive with a service staff more interested in socializing behind the hostess desk than serving customers. No hard liquor, thus no margaritas. The food was decent though. Unfortunately, I would not recommend.
Don't bother going here. Although the people working were kind, the food was bad. Seafood and Acapulco burritos smelled like tunafish - not halibut. I asked the waiter to see about my order because it smelled, he said "it's fish". No offer to get us edible food. $50 down the drain! Cilantro quesadilla had raunchy cilantro. One highlight was the chicken tortilla soup.
Service was bad. Came in with a group of 4. We didn’t get seated until about 45 minutes of waiting even when they had open tables. When they sat us down, we didn’t get any waters or service. We had to ask for waters and for someone to take our order after being seated for 30 minutes.
Service was absolutely horrendous. We came in as a party of two just looking to get a quick bite. The server at the front initially told us we were next in line for a table but then proceeded to seat 3 parties that came after us. In addition to that, we asked if we could sit at the bar but they also told us that was not an option. After 25 minutes of being brushed off we were finally given a table. At least the food was good.
