Rocky's Cafe Kasilof Reviews
Best food..definitely worth a stop..philly cheesesteak and omelet with reindeer pepperoni was top notch. I'd give it 10 stars if possible 👍
Local one stop shop mercantile with a cafe attached. It’s on the curve and it’s really mostly for Kasilof locals but worth the chance with a larger motorhome getting in and out of there.
I was brought my meal to go by my family. I was very pregnant at the time and went to the hospital immediately. Turned out i was in early labor... I asked the hospital to let me go home so I could eat my leftover Alfredo! They let me and I was so happy! Was the best alfredo i have had locally in a long time ♡ still rave about it months later.
Love the food and choices you have to pick! The paintings are amazing and the location it's in is so convenient and beautiful, love to go here on long trips. Do recommend!
Stoped for breakfast. Portion size was good, pricy but for the area not bad. Reindeer sausage -nothing special
We stopped in and got two Rocky’s Burgers—both were excellent. Juicy, flavorful, and stacked just right with fresh toppings. The onion rings were super crispy and hit the spot. My son got fries with his and cleaned the whole plate! But the real surprise was the cinnamon roll cheesecake. I asked my son if he liked it… he said, "No, I love it!" That pretty much sums it up. Great food, kind service, and a laid-back, clean atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!
Epic dinner. You could tell that every thing is homemade. We had chicken fried steak dinner and love it. We normally go for breakfast, best place around, and we finally tried dinner. Will definitely go back
It’s a little expensive and since they are always busy, service is a little slow. My husband had the omelet and he said it was amazing. I had French toast and it wasn’t great. Was cold and not fresh. But after a while in Alaska we expect just ok, and we expect it to be expensive. Plus side: they have what looks like amazing desserts and ice cream! A cute store, and video rentals in the back.
We were driving past when I decided to check out reviews in the area. It had high marks and was called a “Gem” and indeed it is! We had grilled chicken sandwiches, a pulled pork sandwich, onion rings, potato salad, and Cole slaw. My uncle said the pulled pork was AMAZING! Literally the best be has ever. I loved the grilled chicken. Amazing atmosphere.
Casual dining. Friendly staff good burgers and tons of fries. We enjoyed our time at Rocky’s traveling through and treated kindly. Food was delicious and truth be told I’m picky. Fries were hot with just enough salt. Burgers came hot and juicy cooked to perfection and not slathered in mayonnaise just a dab. And I mean mayo not miracle whip which despise. So thanks for a good meal. Albeit a bit pricey. But that’s a sign of the times.
Rocky’s Cafe is a one-stop shop for just about everything you need. Fishing supplies, bagged ice, grocery items, a gift shop, movie rentals, and of course the cafe, which has surprisingly great food and ice cream! I had the fish and chips, which was honestly some of the best I’ve had in Alaska. Dining tables are limited, but we were seated quickly when we arrived around noon on a Sunday. Our food arrived a little slower than is average for a sit-down restaurant, but as long as you aren’t in a time crunch to catch the incoming tide on the Kasilof, it wasn’t a bad wait. Overall I highly recommend Rocky’s Cafe if you are staying in, or even just passing through, Kasilof.
Had a fantastic breakfast here today with my son. I will say the wait for food was about 45 mins but it was worth it. I had a great omelet and my son had a massive pancake with eggs and bacon. Service was excellent and we will definitely be back the next time we drive through. Highly recommend stopping here to eat.
Dined here frequently while on a job in Kasilof. I can attest to the fact that they have friendly and prompt service. I definitely recommend the seafood salad, clam chowder with a order of tots, or the terrific Western barbecue burger. Most everything on the menu is great and their ice cream isn’t the cheap stuff👌
There are times when you wish you could visit a destination more often just so you can eat at a particular restaurant. These bountiful buttermilk pancakes, excellent eggs, and beautiful bacon make Rocky's Cafe in Kasilof one of those particular restaurants and today one of those times. Absolutely delicious!
I personally love the food but wait times vary between 20 min onward but I can't complain to much food is pretty good
Rocky's Cafe is connected to a store. Nice shirts for sale near the counter. We ordered two quarter pounder cheese burgers w fries. It was delicious! We were greeted by a nice waitress. While it was busy inside, she had a great attitude which made it comforting. I also requested to have our caramel cheesecake and chocolate cake desserts to go. I would like to try their ice cream during the summer. Yum!
It's not all it's cracked up to be. Have been there 5 times in last 2.5 months hoping it'd get better each time, but that failed. Ordered to go once... no lines, no waiting - kitchen called "order up" which the server acknowledged, but I still waited almost 14 minutes to receive it...while it sat in the kitchen window. There was another server there that could've easily brought it to me, but instead she reverted to the happenings on her phone Every time I've gone there I've gotten the same waitress- no personality , clearly lacking joy in what she does for work as well- that's written all over her face and the way she speaks to customers. The food is served cold most of the time. Good luck calling in an order- the phone will ring till it runs busy. I am a Reuben connoisseur... they have the worst reuben in history by far- the meat is nothing but grease, the kraut non existent. The Swiss? I think it got left behind in the Alps. Maybe it's an okay place if you're absolutely starving, but definitely not a " ' omg we gotta to Rocky's Cafe" kinda place. I've always tipped well and wondered why afterwards.
Ordered one thing and got another. When the replacement came 20 min later it was a very mayonnaise laden Reuben and did not taste good at all. Online prices showed $13.99 for a sandwich but they charge $21.99. Said they can’t change what we see online. Fries were the only good part about our 2 sandwiches for $45.00. Order carefully!
