Murphy's Irish Pub Sonoma Reviews
This place is the best. The staff is really professional and also funny and cool. The live music is the best in the area. It’s a favorite of locals and tourists. It is tucked in an alley off of the square close to the Sebastiani theatre. You must check this place out. The food is excellent. And the vibes are perfect. This is an authentic Irish pub owned by some great folks I have had the pleasure to meet. The bartender Ricardo is a class act and runs a great bar. Check them out. BEST PUB AND FOOD IN SONOMA.
Had a wonderful time. Crowded because of the Niner Game, but we spent a good amount of time before the CandleLight Concert.
Ian was one of the friendliest and most attentive bartenders we had when we visited on Tuesday 6/17. Thank you for such great food and a great experience!
Great customer service, and location. There’s an alley that takes you to the restaurant and it makes you feel like you’re in another part of the world! This place is very cool! There’s sitting available inside and outside. They also had a live band when I went on a Friday night, which was so awesome! The restaurant manager, Shawn was really kind and provided outstanding service to everyone! That was impressive. The food was so good, that I didn’t get to take a picture of it! We finished it all.
Everything was freshly made, fries were super hot. Burger had juices pouring out, cooked perfectly at medium-well, seasoned beautifully. My apple cider was super cold for tat 85 degrees plus day. Would visit again.
Great pub with a good choice of brews and decent cocktails. The grub is typical Irish pub fare along with some healthier California twists incorporated, but I haven't been disappointed yet. Last time, I had the popcorn chicken, and it was very tasty with my Henhouse beer. The pub often features live music on an open-air patio space. I like going as a place to have a pint (or two😉) while the girls shop the plaza.
My first day/evening in town, and I had so much fun in Murphy’s! Great live music, very friendly service and super tasty food. I had the Brussels sprouts & cheeseburger. And tried the Mahi sandwich as well. It was all so good 😋 Dermott, thank you for the great experience. Will recommend you all the way to Polska!
We rented the Rose Room at Murphy’s for our welcome cocktails the night before our wedding! Our guests had an absolute blast and the service was top notch. The bar was efficient, the drinks were delicious, and everyone loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend for your events!
Great selection of whiskeys and bourbons with a tasting menu. Lots of beer and wine to choose from. Food was tasty and a great price. Live music was great and everyone was dancing. Friendly staff was working hard at keeping the drinks and food coming.
Wow!!! What an excellent experience we had at Murphy’s Irish Pub this weekend. The pasta and fish n chips were excellent! And the Guinness was flowing! Friendly attentive staff that were super nice and knowledgeable.

One of my favorite places! Love their Shepherd Pie. The place makes me miss Dublin so bad… I like everything about it - the secluded location makes you feel like you just traveled in space and in time. If you like Irish vibe, just pretend the place is centuries old and enjoy!

We had a fantastic first visit to Murphys while traveling from Novato to Sonoma. It was a beautiful day, and we stopped in for a bite around 5 PM. The atmosphere was lively, with plenty of TVs showing sports, which added to the fun vibe. I ordered the Big Chicken Beer, while my wife enjoyed a spicy margarita—both were excellent. She especially loved all the different cocktail options on the menu. For food, I had the fish and chips, which were perfectly crispy and flavorful, and my husband had a burger with the best fries we’ve had in a long time. The service was great, even with the staff being incredibly busy setting up for a big concert later in the evening. One thing that stood out was how hard the staff was working, especially the poor host dealing with a group of angry older women who had taken four tables for just six people. He was trying his best to explain why that was unfair to others waiting, but they weren’t having it and were downright rude to him. Despite this, the team handled the situation professionally and kept things moving smoothly. Overall, we had a great experience—good food, drinks, and a fun atmosphere. We’d definitely come back. Highly recommend!
We wanted chicken fingers and he made it happen for us even though that's not on the adult menu. Customer service was superb and great atmosphere.
Better than a faux Irish pub, this is a great place for an afternoon stout, cocktail and a place to put your feet up. I have never eaten here, but when you are done messing around with wineries and shops and need to slip away, Murphy's is a great hideout. Sit at the bar and watch sports, or sit on the sidelines and read (or write your own great story). Excellent service and a fun crew.
Stopped in for a quick pint and just caught happy hour. The croquet’s, chicken sliders and fish tacos were all on the menu. I couldn’t decide so got one of each! Best $12 I have spent in a VERY long time. Excellent pub, great staff and fantastic food. Stop in and see for yourself

We have been here twice now, it has hit both times. We came for meals the first time, each meal was a large portion that we got to take back to the hotel and we had a meal later and it was delicious. This time we opted for drinks and appetizers - service was impeccable, The music was a vibe, and the sweet potato fries and the brussel sprouts hit so hard. Once is a coincidence, twice means it's real. Whenever we are here on vacation, this will be a staple. Highly recommend if you just want to sit down, lounge, and vibe.

It is everything you expect an Irish pub to be, good drinks, good food, TVs both inside and in the Garden, as well as, a regular line up of live music.
We were here after a hike. Decided to order Oyster Rockefellers, Irish spice bag, Guinness beer and Sonoma Rosé. The service was great we asked the server to bring the sweet treat bread pudding with ice cream. Everything was delicious. The set up reminds you of Europe. We enjoyed our time here. Definitely recommend as there's music as well.
Trying to tell me kale and spinach looks alike. The menu said kale, but I got spinach instead. The food is still delicious and filling. Live music finished the atmosphere. Worth the drive and dine.

I love this place; I've been coming here for years! The food is mostly delicious comfort food. My kids have liked it, and it's conveniently located in an alley of the Sonoma square. I usually get the shepherd's pie. Last time I went, it was a little more bland than I remembered, but still good with a little added salt and pepper. I will return!

We ate there at the Happy Hour for the deal and had a business meeting , The lady seemed overwhelmed and not happy to wait our table , she was rude . She seemed kinda mad . We ordered some dishes on the menu , the food was average I’d say , I did really like the atmosphere, it looks like Europe .

Unfortunately the service was very poor. I felt disrespected by the server who treated me as though I was a nuisance. Maybe they were having a bad day but it made me uncomfortable enough to never want to return.
We had an extremely disappointing experience at Murphy’s. Our Guinness was poured straight down instead of at a 45 angle, which is not the proper two-step pour, and before I even said a word, the bartender told me not to drink it before it settled, assuming I didn’t know how Guinness works. What made it worse was watching him pour proper, textbook Guinness for a large group that came in after us and noticing he didn’t give them the same comment; the inconsistency felt targeted and left me feeling profiled and deeply uncomfortable.
