The Sierra Pub South Lake Tahoe Reviews
Love the vibe and atmosphere! Great outdoor fire pits. Food was good for pub food, drinks were even better. Live music every night which is sweet!
Had a great dinner here! My wife and I both had the Reuben and it was awesome! We had the fried pickles too which were great! Second time had the fish and chips. Also delicious!
While visiting South Lake Tahoe, I was looking for a bar to watch the Carolina Panthers game, and went to McP's Taphouse Grill. They have 40 beers on tap, and an impressive selection. It was nice to try beers that I can't get on the East Coast. I had the half order of fish & chips with pub fries. It was so tasty. This is a cool bar and I had fun even though the Panthers lost.
We were recommended this place by Cameron from Basecamp just down the street. It was off-season so we were seated right away. Had great service from Danny and learned to put Tajin on the rim of our pint glasses when having the Mango Cart beer! We each had a salad, the Chicken Caesar and the BBQ Chicken, they were both delicious. Not cheap, but then nothing is in S. Lake. For the price it's worth it, great service and a fun place.
Been here a few times servers are usually on top of their game and friendly. Place gets busy but they have a lot of seating. Sometimes they have bands. The food is really good and they have a wide variety of beer choices. Definitely try anything that has their beer cheese. Awesome location…
I stopped by McP’s Taphouse Grill on Labor Day and absolutely loved the atmosphere. Even though it was a bit slow, the vibe was great and there was a fantastic singer playing guitar that made it feel special. Originally, I ordered food to-go, but I didn’t want to leave—I was enjoying this place too much. I asked my wife to join me, and the bar manager was kind enough to have the kitchen plate our food so we could dine in instead. That small gesture really stood out and showed how welcoming and accommodating the staff are. Overall, great service, amazing atmosphere, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to.
I recommend this lovely Irish pub. Such a fun atmosphere. They have an extensive beer selection and food menu. The staff is friendly and the service is very good. Every time we have been here they have had good live music. In addition at times, they clear the tables in front of the band for dancing.
We brought in a group of 10, five adults and five kids, and I was impressed at how quick our service was - both ordering food and receiving it. The food was all great and everyone enojoyed their meal. I ordered the Reuben/Burger combo which was a substantial amount of meat and it was delicious. I didn't care for the caesar salad, as the dressing tasted mostly just like mayo. The fries and onion rings were a hit with everyone who tried them. Overall, every dish we ordered got rave reviews from the person eating it.
Cool place, life music... fun and energetic... This was our 1st time here. The only thing was the service... host did a great job sitting us..The server could have been a bit chill with taking our order, helping with some choices... other than that, we liked the experience and recommended this restaurant. The cocktails were great, burger was very good, huge by the way... the sweet potato fries were awesome..
Great Spot!!! If you are visiting Lake Tahoe and looking for a great place to eat and have a drink this is the place! The food is great! We had the Sheppards Pie for main course, Elote - Mexican Street Corn for an appetizer and Maple Cheesecake for dessert. The portions are huge… you will leave stuffed. Service was top notch and the atmosphere is great! Prices are good as well. You should definitely give this place a try!
Very nice place with good atmosphere, a lot of outdoor seating, live music, extensive menu. Friendly service, clean, good views. We liked their version of Margarita, awesome fish and chips, large selection of beers. Also we liked spicy cauliflower as an appetizer as well as elotes with tortilla chips. The only complaint is that salmon was clearly burned… So when we came second time we did not order salmon…
The Taphouse offers a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that strikes a nice balance between lively and conversational—you’re aware of the energy in the room without having to compete with it. We chose to sit at the bar, where Mark Z. provided attentive service. He was approachable and candid in answering our questions, adding to the overall ease of the experience. While the menu doesn’t aim to be overly inventive, it delivers well on what it promises: a hearty burger, solid drinks, and a laid-back setting. For diners looking for a straightforward, no-frills meal paired with friendly service and a casual vibe, The Taphouse meets expectations.
I had dinner at McP’s Taphouse Grill in South Lake Tahoe. We ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, along with buffalo wings as an appetizer. Both the appetizer and the main dish were very good and nicely prepared. The service was fine, and the live music added to the atmosphere. Overall, it’s a good place to enjoy a meal in South Lake Tahoe.
After checking this place out with reviews from various online sources. I was a bit unsure if we should go or not. Us and another couple were staying across the street at Casars. The food was delicious and well presented. That’s service was a little slow, but then it was on a Saturday evening at 7pm. As a matter of fact we went back on Sunday really enjoyed everything. Next time we’re back at Tahoe we’ll be enjoying another great meal there. 100% recommended !!!
Amazing atmosphere. Pretzel stixs came recommended, the cheese is amazing but pretzels were almost burnt. My gf wanted a Caesar salad, it was decent, my chat gpt recommended the butcher pizza, and he’s now fired. Literally tastes like a Safeway take home bake yourself pizza. Not horrible but for $25 I’ll pass. But the service is good and the atmosphere is awesome we had some old guys who sing amazing super fun to see for that alone it’s worth the Safeway pizza 😂 over priced food tho for sure for the quality
We visited this restaurant in January 2026. We mostly liked the dishes. However, in the picture they look larger than they actually are. That's the first thing I didn't like. We ordered meat stewed in Guinness beer, and it was delicious. But the second identical dish arrived with meat that was half sinew and fat. The portions aren't very large for the price; I'd say they're small. And thirdly, what personally disappointed me was the menu entry in the lower right corner. On all dishes, which are already not cheap, there is a technical fee 3% and an 18% fee for no apparent reason. If this is how they regulate their tips, then I don’t like this approach; they decided for me how much to pay me. But most of the dishes were very tasty.
