I was very skeptical about trying this place out because of the reviews n especially Since I was going to have to drive an hour out from Suffolk County. My experience here was great. I will definitely be back. The food was good. The service was good and the price wasn’t that bad.

I was really looking for a Trini roti shop but stumbled on this one (I used to always go to a very popular one which has gotten really sub par lately). Pros - the goat was divine! Pumpkin lashed! pholourie was good too. Duck - disappointing, mainly because my dish was full of neck and back bones and 1 liver. Roti was decent and the bake was goood! Service could have been better. 3 stars because the portions were also pretty small.

I bought 1 cassava pone. Looks like it has tumeric and 1 Chinese cake, this was horrible. Really thick dough, hard and tasteless. I feel like I want to take back the dough to them. This 2 items for $8 and change. I used to like this place. I cannot go back here. I was robbed.

Customer service is horrible. A friend and I walked in and said good afternoon to two workers, we were ignored. We again said it, ignored again. A worker finally turned around, she rudely asks, “wuh yall gah get?” And we said good afternoon, and she just stared at us. The food was then scarcely put together. I got three pieces of chicken and couple drops of curry and a piece of potato with a full box of rice. The food taste is decent but overall experience was horrible. Drinks in the fridge are all over the place and has no sort of organization or arrangement. This place could use some management intervention.

I’ve bought various dishes from this restaurant for many years and I have to say it is not very consistent. Some days you get fresh tasty dishes and other days it seems like yesterday’s food is being sold. They do have a variety of West Indian dishes available and their prices are reasonable for the amount. It’s a West Indian fast food place in a sense where customer service and ambiance aren't theirs first criteria as a restaurant, which explains why so many customers complain of poor customer service. The 2nd floor buffet makes a nice addition to the neighborhood and also carries a large selection of dishes. I personally recommend the breakfast buffet because it reminds me of every dish a Caribbean home would prepare each day. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant because you paid for what you get. Just don’t expect to have excellent customer service experience here

Overpriced to the point of feeling like price gouging, with food and pastries that are inconsistent at best. My last purchase, a loaf of bread so sugary and clammy I couldn’t even tell what it was supposed to be, needless to say it went straight into the trash. You’re simply not getting value for money here, and after this experience, I won’t be back.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Their food is not always freshly made, especially not the roti. It got the whole family sick, everyone was throwing up. It’s like they keep their roti for days and reheat it till it sells. I will never buy food from here again.

Server messed up my order gave me double shrimp when I asked for chicken , charged me over 30 bucks for a plate and soda and I went back to the car and checked my receipt and food it was all wrong . Went back in and told them what happened and she did not want to give me a refund and told me that I’m stealing.

Brought roti from there and it was hard. Live in long Island or else I would have return it. Not my first time, it was good the last time. Today items were not fresh. My daughter also brought a whole set of things and they were hard. We had them before and they were good before. Just yesterday wasn't good.

I recently visited Rockaway Roti Shop and was extremely disappointed to discover that they sold me expired goods. This is not only unacceptable but also a serious health concern. As a customer, I expect basic standards of quality and safety to be upheld. I urge the management to prioritize proper inventory checks and ensure that all products are fresh and safe for consumption. Until these issues are addressed, I can not recommend this establishment to others.

Worst customer service in all of Richmond Hill. We went there for salt fish and bake. The woman behind the counter started filling the container then stopped, proceeded to remove almost half the fish when my wife asked her to please add it back we will pay for the extra she said No you will have to place another order?! So we have to buy 2 orders for one person because your portions are so small? This place has been on a gradual decline for years.

Customer service is outrageous. The ladies behind the counter lost their minds. My mom ordered chicken fried rice & chicken chowmein, she was charged $5 just to have the chicken in separate containers. Other restaurants usually do this with no issue. If the business isn’t doing good to the point where they need to charge FIVE DOLLARS for separate containers, they should consider closing. We said we wanted to speak to the manager & one of the ladies said “go ahead” as if she didn’t care. They’re extremely rude with disgusting attitudes. Hospitality is everything especially when you’re handling people’s food. When we brought the food home, it had no flavor and we had to recook it. Will not be returning here. We’ll probably hear about this place shutting down soon anyways :)

Cashier has a nasty attitude. You ask her a question and she ignore the life out of you. I’m pretty sure she overcharged me. I brought one eggball and one coconut water. Not knowing how much is for either one I had to swipe my card cause she’s was ignoring all my questions completely. When I got my receipt I saw $10 for TWO things. I asked her for sour she’s like ITS IN THE BAG ALREADY with the craziest attitude I wanted to curse her out. SHE NEEDS TO FIX HER ATTITUDE OR JUST QUIT HER JOB IF SHE DOESNT LIKE IT. will never go there again !
