Romeu's Cuban Restaurant Southwest Ranches Reviews
Romeu's Cuban Restaurant on the NE corner of Sheridan and 160th in Southwest Ranches. Rachel was our server and she’s was friendly and efficient. Mariquitas (PERFECT with that sour orange garlicy citrus dipping sauce) with the garlicbread, and drinks …coke and water in under a minute. My creole shrimp, while it’s definitely not a Cajun dish and maybe should be renamed, was delicious. The sauce was rich and REALLY flavorful and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. My girl had the chicken and said it was great as always. This is why we keep turning and definitely recommend 😎🤪🤩🥳
I'll open with this: Best paella you can order for parties, hands down I do enjoy the restaurant in general but what I almost exclusively do with this restaurant is order full pans of their paella and imperial rice (and others) to go The service is always friendly and on point when I make orders they're ready on time and the staff that brings it out is always friendly, quick, and neat
Have been coming here for over 20 years and they never disappoint!! Looove this restaurant!! Fantastic Cuban food served in a casual environment with very affordable prices!! Highly reccomend the lamb shank and oxtail (both are prepared with a creole type sauce and fork tender), with yellow rice, black beans and plantains as main courses, and the fried yuca or plantain chips with sauce for appetizer. I always order the mamey batido which is a mamey smoothy, best described as a tropical fruit that is smooth, slightly sweet, and creamy. The flan con coco is fantastic!! Service is friendly and fast!
Today I went for brunch with my wife and 7 month old twin daughters and were hosted by Adrian the waiter . Adrian saw us carrying the kids and did not hesitate to help us out right away and get us high chairs for the car seats ! He was extremely polite and very patient with us . More restaurants need an Adrian in their life ! Finally when the food came out it was exceptionally delicious! I will make it a family thing to go every Sunday from now on thank you to Adrian and the team at romeus ! A real family restaurant!
They are still the best place to get traditional Cuban food. The palomilla steak is always perfection. Through the years they’ve altered a few things but their menu is still the best! Looking for an alternative to White Rice and Black beans? Try the Moros. A staple to this restaurant are the Mariquitas and they Lime and Garlic dipping sauce.
There could be a bit more of a theme or atmosphere but the food is Bomb and you will feel like you're sitting in Cuba enjoying a pan con bistec as soon as the mariquitas appetizer hits the table. If you remember casa Romeo in Miami, this is as close as you can get.
Super delicious cuban food, customer service was amazing, eager to help, and always smiling, food portions are great, lunch specials are great and good variety of different plates. Overall, I was very pleased with everything.
Everything you need for a hangover meal and establishment. Amazing staff, good food - oxtail soup, pork sandwich, ice cold beer, yuca fries.. did I mention amazing staff!? Everything was modestly perfect. Easy going atmosphere and stellar execution on all fronts.
Enjoyed a very nice dinner, starting off with a Mojito. I ordered the Chicken Milanesa with beans and rice. The dish was plentiful and tasty. After dinner, I ordered a Cortadito.
Romeu is a great place for delicious Cuban food. I've had lunch here many time, and it's perfect every time. Fast, tasty, and very adorable.
Good food at a good price. Our waitress was great. I had the ropa vieja with black beans sweet platings and rice. Yummmm very good Cubans also and together it was less than $30. Great deal for some good sit down Cuban food. It’s not a fancy place but great for lunch.
Very friendly staff. Good food. Big portions. Sit-down area and takeout cafe area.
The online ordering experience was efficient and simple to navigate. And, the food and coffee was INCREDIBLE. I will definitely be a returning customer!
Delicious food, friendly staff and decent price. Garlic Shrimp & fried red snapper.
Whomever likes Cuban food this is a delicious option. I did have a bad take out experience yesterday when picking up I expressly mentioned, well I don't want to get home and see something is missing, Dang! The fried plantains were missing, sheesh, and i tipped the girls 20% for a total of $115, I was so angry, but that does not take away that the food is great.
Fantastic. My Cuban brother-in-law took us there. Good omen upon arriving when all the customers besides my family were Cubans speaking Spanish (ie, if they think it's worth their time, then surely it's worth mine). The entire variety we had was delicious.
I have been coming here for 15 years and it has fantastic Cuban food. The portions used to be absurdly huge, but they sized down and now they are manageable. The servers are wonderful and very nice! I love this place!
I have never been to this restaurant but I feel like you deserve this with all the outstanding support! I wish nothing but blessings to you and your family. I wish I could’ve joined the family sooner!
Great value, delicious food, excellent cafe Cubano! We enjoyed the garlic shrimp, breaded steak, pan con tortilla, fried yucca, and, while I don’t normally eat ham, the croqueta de la casa were amazing. And get the plantain chips with the mojo - good stuff 😁👍
Absolutely the best authentic Cuban restaurant. Every dish is made to perfection and they always have that home cooked taste. They also have buñuelos for dessert which is pretty hard to get right in my opinion and they have perfected that too. There is a nice sit down area right next to a quicker service counter area if you are pressed for time. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for great quality and tasty Cuban food.
The food here is delicious! Excellent portion sizes. Prices are average- around what you would expect for the area. Quick service. (I’ve only done pickup since COVID, so I can’t speak to in dining procedures).
Saddened to hear they are closing. The food and service was some of the best. I had the pleasure of knowing the owner since she/her sons did deposits at the Bank Of America I worked at in the same Coquona Plaza.
Best. Chicken. Soup. Ever. I went to ten different restaurants in the Pembroke Pines area. Everybody's soups sucked. Wasted my money my gas and my m-fing time. My entire family is sick including myself and I am not about to spend 3 hours making a soup. As a last ditch effort I picked up two chicken soups. It came with complimentary Cuban bread. And everything was delicious. The chicken was soft and feel apart in the broth. The broth hit the spot and wasn't too oily so it went down easy. You know the chef is amazing when a simple dish they make wows the pants off of you. I am impressed. The restaurant was cute. They told me the soup would be ready in 15 minutes and I think it was done before that because by the time I picked it up I think they were expecting me. Amazing service quick and wonderful. I will be back again and again.
We had an excellent experience at Romeu's. The Medianoche and the club sándwiches were delicious. Our server left us feeling welcomed and well taken care of. This will become one of my regular eating spots from now on!
I order in the evening and the order took 3 hours so I gave them a bad review, I was asleep by then and didn't answer when they called. I called them the next day and without me even saying anything they apologized profusely and offered me a full refund. I asked to please send the sandwiches I ordered instead. They were top notch as always, pan con bistec and a media noche.
First time there and add a take out order. Order the cuban for me and my friend, It was excellent!!! I believe it was one of the owners that serves me when I walked in and she was excellent and very friendly.
I’ve been coming here with my family for over 10 years. Their traditional Sunday Cuban buffet is awesome and cheap. It’s a nice way for the family to have a nice breakfast out without going over budget. They serve all kinds of food and have an omelet station which is great! They serve some traditional Cuban croquetas, pastilitos, etc. It’s pretty awesome and the wait isn’t too bad.
South Florida's best Cuban food! High quality and full of flavor. Highly recommend this place. This is in a strip center. Nicely decorated inside. The kind of local neighborhood place that you would expect great food. Great service as well. Can't wait to go back.
We are from out of town staying here for a local golf tournament and stumbled on this jem!!! Nice, clean and hands down the best Cuban food we have have ever had!!! Service was also amazing, never had to wonder where our waiter/waitress was! Thank you for a great dining experience!!!
My family and I have been eating here for years. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. Food is always good with big portions. Enjoy!
Never had Cuban food before - it was amazing and I enjoyed every bit of it. Great little restaurant and very friendly staff. I'd love to go back if I'm in town again.
Great authentic Cuban food at a good price. This is authentic Cuban food. It is in a small shopping center just south of Lowes and west of Publix. This has a large parking lot but is typically busy due to its good food. The portions are large and the food is excellent. We try to eat here every time we visit this area. If you are picking up I highly recommend ordering ahead to save time. Definitely recommend this to my fellow travelers. Visited this location again...Great Authentic Spanish meals We have visited this restaurant many times. This was the second time we have ordered from this location since COVID. It is located at the end of a set of stores with a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. If you are getting take-out there are several spaces saved for you to park near the entrance. They offer family meals at a reasonable price. We ordered the Roast Pork family meal and house salad. The price was ~$40. The food was ready on time. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly and efficient. The food was EXCELLENT. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting to eat authentic and delicious food.
Loved this restaurant, the service was excellent and coffee and food were as well. They practice social distancing every other table and the staff wear mask. You are required to wear mask until your seated at your table. I felt safe with the staff and their safety protocol. You can also order to pick up food. Support your local businesses. This was Very nice place.
Love this place. I’ve been dining here for at least 10 years and still going. Sometimes the service on the sit down part of the restaurant isn’t so great but the bar area is usually solid. The service started declining after covid so I believe it’s just under staffed but the food does not disappoint.
Such a shame they are closing. It’s been a while since I’ve experienced such good customer service. One of the best Cuban restaurants with an affordable menu and amazing portions too! You will be missed.
Excellent service, economical and good food. The house Sangria was one of the best I have enjoyed. I had the skirt steak with white rice, black beans and ripe plantain. Meet was cooked exactly to the term I asked for. Dish size was perfect. I give it 5 stars because I got value for my money
My family and I really loved this place.. been coming to Romeu’s for years and so sad to see they have closed down! They had the best Cuban food in this area.. wishing the owner and their family all the best and if you ever open up again elsewhere we will follow you!
I order food to go from this restaurant and they have a very organized system for take out, they even have a system for dirty and clean pens. The guy that took my order, Leo, was very good and explained all the guidelines for social distancing and the other two girsl were really nice too. Definitely ordering from here again in the near future because the food and service were amazing.
Romeu's was fantastic!! The food was all delicious and homemade. It was packed when we were there so that's always a good sign. I had the skirt steak with yellow rice and beans. The flavor on the steak was unbelievable. They serve thin plantain chips at the table with a unique citrus dipping sauce that was really good. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely go back.
I love coming here after exercising at the nearby park for breakfast. Their house potatoes are my favorite. Come here for my daily fix of colada. The staff is awesome. They recognize us before our group comes in and can almost fix our orders without us saying.
Took a trip down memory lane. Thoroughly enjoyed myself remembering family gatherings and good food. How can it be that everything tasted even better than I remembered it? The freshness and flavors were intoxicating. The comfort of a juicy bistec de pollo, the rich flavor of the black beans, mariquitos and sauce, the bistec de palomilla, everything all so good. Our service was friendly and attentive, suitable for making us feel at home. Thank you, Romeu's
If your are looking for authentic and delicious Cuban food you have to try Romeu's. I come for breakfast and for dinner and its always great. My favorite is the Swai fish (blackened) with rice and beans, the prices are very reasonable and the staff is also very nice. I highly recommend coming here. Thanks for always having quality service!
I love this place. I just cannot find anything to come even remotely close to the quality, time and effort they put into each dish. All of my family and siblings love this restaurant. My young nephews love the bread and mariqutas. I no longer live in South Florida... when I return for a visit... Romeu's is a must stop. Go see Marlene... she'll take care of you. When my father was alive... his favourite dish was Rabo(Oxtail) and mom loves her Churasco. You never leave hungry! What better way to end a full and satisfying meal?! You'll need either a cafe con leche or a cortadito. How satisfying is that?!
Nada, soy feliz.
August 2022: 4⭐: I came by this location with a small group of co-workers. We decided on this location and we met in separate vehicles at the restaurant. We were seated in the back area where we could all fit at a couple of tables together. We ordered various items from the menu and they all arrived as we ordered them. The server came over and took our drink orders and delivered them without any errors. A different server came earlier and dropped off garlic bread to the table which was very tasty. It wasn't long before our food was delivered to the table in two waves of servers dropping off plates. The server attending to our tables was fairly attentive when getting additional drinks. We had a few issues on this visit to this restaurant, but overall everything was good. The workers were mostly quick and efficient. The fried plantain was not served freshly fried which affects the taste and crunch.
Romeu's is a iconic long standing Cuban establishment in West Pines and they are quite great at their craft. Everything on the menu has always hit the spot throughout the years of patronage. The chicken soup is always on the money. The red beans are always so flavorful, the rice is always fluffy and never dry and crunchy - there are definitely different calibers of rice execution. The mariquitas are plentiful and the mojo is delectable when dipped or drizzled onto them. The food quality is good, portions are better than fair and it's very hard to disappoint here. The service ia generally outstanding too.
Pretty good cuban. Service was good. Nothing went above or beyond expectations. My cubano was really tasty and so was the picadillo. Only complaints were that our sweet teas were unsweet teas with sugar served on the side, which you know that’s not how it works.
Had the Club Sandwich and my wife had the Picadillo!!! Both were great...the service by Piero was pretty good as well!!!
Great Cuban food restaurant. The only issue in 5 years that I had is my whole fried snaper. For the first time, it was served a bit undercooked, but it usually is great.
My first time going her with the wife. She has gone before and her friends have spoken highly of this place. My wife is a small eater, she ordered the BabyPalomilla and the server came back saying they only had the Full Pallomilla. Which that didn’t make sense to me at all. You just cut the steak smaller. I wanted the ropa vieja and we were going to share both so we could enjoy both worlds. The wife was discouraged and we just went with some drinks Mango Mojito and Presidente Beer, plus their apatizer platter. Croquetas, Pork, Mariquitas, tostones rellenos de picadillo, and yuca frita. Everything was very good. We asked for the garlic sauce and the other sauce for dipping. Can’t remember right now. It was a nice sized appetizer for 3-4 people. I would’ve loved to see a little more zing or creativity to it, but still very good. They seemed understaffed. We were there on a Sunday Night, one server and one biusboy. No host, many were standing around looking to be sat and it seemed like busboy and server were doing it all. I never saw a manager anywhere. We had to ask for our drinks a few times........ giving the circumstances that the two workers were under, they did very well. We left 30% for their work and effort. Again the food was very good. Place was very clean. Management needs to step it up in staffing and maybe a little more creativity to the dishes.
very good food at a reasonable price. service was just ok. soup of the day on Friday "plantain soup" is very tasty. ox tail is great as well. serving sizes are large so split or you may end up taking a whole meal home.
Excellent food! The restaurant needs to be upgraded!!! It has the same finishes as in the 1990's. Service is in another time zone. The food is that good. Additionally, there are excellent lunch specials like breaded steak with rice and beans for $6. Furthermore, if you add a coffee and dessert at lunch or dinner, you won't add 12 bucks to your tab. Very reasonable espresso, flan, and tres leches. I recommend getting all three.
Decent Cuban food, and nice employees. Had a Cuban sandwich- the lechon in it was especially delicious. The sandwich could have been heated a bit more so the cheese would be melty- that didn't happen, but still a tasty sandwich, although not the best I've had in the Miami area.
The restaurant is very nice & the portions are large. We ordered the breaded chicken & skirt steak. The favor was very bland on both entrees. We were disappointed. It did not taste like authentic Cuban cuisine, more American in my opinion. Overall it was okay but I don't think we'll be returning. :(
Lost two stars for too cold in restaurant & that a soda came in a can & cost $2.20 each. Food otherwise was very good. The Breaded Steak was huge (see pics).
We've been coming here for quite sometime now, almost since this place opened and little by little we've notice a decline 8n quality of food, service and management. Past 2 visits we've had to send food back due to temperature. Really contemplating on returning, I'm sure we will but we'd like to see it get better.
I go Romeo's Restaurant a lot but lately, I have not been happy with the service and the food. The food has been cold. Some kind of white rice taste like a bomb eating raw rice . Or it's been sitting there for a long time. Doesn't taste fresh . Also when customers leave their tables, the waiter and waitress need to disinfect the tables and chairs better. I watch your waitress and waiters clean and they're NOT doing a good job wiping down the tables. Don't forget we have covid-19 out there. And we don't need more people to get sick. Maybe you should put a bottle of hand sanitizer at each table. That will be a great idea!
Not totally bad, but not as good as they used to be. I was there the other day and picked up my order. Well, both steak sandwiches that i ordered were hard and full of tendons that made them impossible and disgusting to eat. The rest of the food was OK but not great.
We have always loved this restaurant. Food vs price has been in very good proportion. Today, we felt sorry for Leo, our waiter, since he tried to justify the very slow delivery from the kitchen. Something, has been not working out, since it has been a recurring issue. Hopefully, this situation can be solved very soon, we would hate to need to take our business else where....
Many times we had lunch at Romeu"s. Good price, honest food.. unfortunately not at our last visit. As always we ordered the palomilla, usually delicious.. But that time we had horrible meat ....it looked like was washed , so pale it was. Because we were with friends did not complain, we just ate.. but I really would like to know how the steak was made.. .I will think twice before return there..
Update to my post from a year ago. I still haven’t returned. Bad business to give bad service…. I’ve been eating at this restaurant for a very long time. Tonight I wasn’t happy. I had asked for crispy pork and they brought it burnt. I tried to give it back, and the waiter said just eat it in the middle. He got half of a tip. It should’ve been taken off the bill and he would’ve gotten a full tip. I’m just leaving with bad feelings.
Well, you get a lot, I mean a lot, of food on each order. If you order an entree you may want to consider sharing because the portions are huge. Good prices and service was good at first and dropped a little as the meal went on. Food was good, not overseasoned that's for sure. I'd go back.
Had visited once prior and had a good experience. Brought the family in at 8:20 PM. Even though the closing time was posted at 9:00, we were advised the kitchen was closing and we needed to order in an expedited manner. Then when we went to order there seemed to be a host of things they were unwilling or unable to make. They claimed to not have the protein to make their signature sandwich. 9:00 means they are locking the door and walking away. They even dimmed the lights on us while we were attempting to finish our meals and put chairs up around us.
I was in SFL this week and needed a Cuban food fix as I cannot get good Cuban food where I now live in Georgia. I got takeout from Romeu's as this restaurant was close to where I was staying. Overall, I was somewhat disappointed. Although portions were more than adequate, the taste was very bland. I had to spice it up with my own seasonings to get the taste I was looking for. Next time I am in this area, I will travel further to some tried and true Cuban restaurants where I can be more assured of getting the taste I am looking for.
Hoy julio 11 compré 5 tamales. La verdad estaban bien malos. Hace dos meses los compré y tenían mejor calidad. Creo q deben mejorar la calidad o dejar de venderlos
What started out as a nice evening out turned into utter disgust. Our dinner party consisted of 4 adults and 2 minors. We ordered drinks and the strawberry milkshake that my son ordered came as a strawberry daiquiri complete with alcohol. My wife ordered the $8 stew and when the meals came they brought her the $18 steak instead and said they didn't have any stew. The waiter never once told us they didn't have any stew left or offered us a chance to order something different. We let it go and had our meals. When the bill came they overcharged us for 2 extra drinks which we caught. We tipped appropriately on the bill (tipped based on the $8 stew and not the $18 steak) . As we were about to leave the waiter came up to me and complained that his tip was not enough. He wanted his tip based on the original incorrect bill which was overstated by $20, plus the $10 overcharge on the steak. Needless to say I was beyond ticked off. The waiter should be fired. We let his errors go without making a fuss and he has the nerve to complain about his tip. Needless to say I would never recommend a place that would employ someone who could single handily ruin a dinner experience. The food was acceptable, not bad at all but the experience with the waiter would ensure that I will never eat there again or recommend anyone else does either. His name according to the receipt is Andres. If you do decide to eat there and get him as a server definitely leave or insist on someone else as your server.
I ordered by internet tonight their ticket said 6:54 pm. I was told on the internet the food would be ready in 25 minutes. I waited from 7:35pm till 7:55pm when I finally received my food. While waiting I asked about the food. The staff was kind but it did not seem urgent that I receive my food. A gentleman came in after me. He said he ordered at 7:10pm he received his food 15 minutes before I received my food. I understand it was a busy night . I don't understand how none of out food was not hot or even warm, considering I waited ad long as I did . The vegetables were soggy and the carrots had a black look on them as though they were bad. To add to my bad experience I did not receive one of the 3 fries I ordered. When I called back I was told I would receive credit for what I did not get I appreciate that gesture but after my experience there I won't return. I have been to other Cuban restaurants and wanted to try this one as it was close to my home. I won't be back. Not after this experience.
If you don't mind your food being over salted then this place is good, otherwise it's mostly over salted. We ordered take out for a family party for Fathers day (Arroz Con Pollo) and boy was it salty. We've eaten here before and it was manageable but mostly over salted. We called and let them know and they said "sorry". At that point there's really nothing we can do, We simply fed the chicken to our dogs and the rice just threw it away. We've been coming here for sometime now and this has happened in the past so we'll think about our options here in the future. Their coffee is good!
I lived in Pembroke Pines for 10 years and once a month casa Romero was my go to. When friends and family visited, this would be my destination . It’s been 7 years since I made my way back, and I was so disappointed. The wine menu was down to you wanted a cab and merlot for red, and enjoy what you get. The palomilla steak was greasy and flavorless, as was the chicken not greasy, but flavorless. The carpet floors were dirty, which a simple vacuuming could had solved.. It saddens me to say, I would not ever recommend this restaurant again in this present state, and the only reason I gave 2 stars was because our server was amazing and pleasant… I hope this restaurant goes back to who they were.
I was sad to experience the decrease in the quality of the food here. We stopped for lunch and my food was not good. The breaded steak seemed like it had been sitting in the kitchen forever and the meat had lots of fat. The tostones were stale. The only good thing were the mariquitas and my very cold Miller Lite. Founded to be pricey for regular Cuban food. Unfortunately I will not be back.
Food is still good but the pricing is a bit wild for breakfast. Places have gotten more expensive but this is a bit out of hand. I’ll continue eating here occasionally for dinner but I won’t be back for breakfast unless they fix their prices. For $15+ you’d get a better quality in lots of other places.
Visited this spot Sunday morning. Seated promptly. Took a few minutes for menus. Took about 10 min to get our drinks and another 15 minutes to get our pretty basic order. Food was just ok. Service was not the greatest. Nothing memorable. Nothing I would return for. IG page is definitely over exaggerated. Absolutely NOTHING about this place made me want to return. Pass on this spot so you’re not disappointed. ✌🏽 2 ⭐️ ⭐️ s was pretty generous 🤪
I have gone on several occasions since the place opened a few years ago and I have never been impressed. they have a good breakfast which is reasonably priced and the service is good if you sit at the counter. however, if you sit at a table the service is lack luster. I took my daughters for breakfast on the day off from school and it was 1 waitress with 2 tables and she kept forgetting the order in also took extremely long to take her order and also to bring our food. I complained to the manager and the old lady only made excuses for the type of order that we have placed which was only French toast. I am honestly surprised that they have stayed in business as long as they have considering there are a couple of other excellent cuban restaurants in the area.
Excellent attention from the waitress, the place is cozy, very comfortable to have a good lunch or meal, but there is only one problem with my order, the fried snapper does not empathize, they killed the natural flavor, they fried the plantains with refused oil because it was black and was not toasted, I recommend to the owner that I explained to the cook that what he cooks should have more quality, December 1, 2022 Excelente atención por parte de la mesera, el lugar esta acogedor, muy a gusto para pasar un buen almuerzo o comida , pero hay solo un problema con mi pedido , el Pargo frito no se empaniza , le mataron el sabor natural ,los tostones los frieron con aceite rehusado pues estaba negro y no quedó tostado , le recomiendo al dueño que le expliqué al cocinero que debe quedar con más calidad lo que cocina , Diciembre 1 del 2022
The minuses: Easily some of the worst Cuban food I have had in Miami. The churrasco was flavorless (no seasoning). The side of black beans had maybe 20 beans and the rest was liquid. The picadillo was a good portion but very under flavored. And finally, the yuca was dry and pretty much inedible. They ran out tostones so they replaced with fries. Unfortunately they were old, greasy, and some were burnt. We were here for Father’s Day, so the wait for the food was about 30 mins. The wait was ok considering how full the place was. The pluses: The server was extremely nice and apologetic about the wait. The bread at the beginning was A+, hot butter garlic Cuban bread. Despite the place being full, we got a table pretty quickly. All in all, it may have been an off day for the kitchen staff, or just our bad luck. But probably won’t be eating there again. Good luck to those that do
We won't be returning to this once decent Cuban restaurant. They have done a complete 180. After dining there today, it wasn't surprising to learn they have a new chef in the kitchen. I won't go into the meal(s) but they no longer have the quality and taste they were known for. Truly disappointed and expect them to go out of business if this lack of quality continues. We won' t return or recommend to others until they straighten out their act.
Food was horrible. This is definitely not good Cuban food. I'll start by saying that the bread was at least 3 days old. The rice was hard and the chicken steak had no flavor. We had to throw away the tostones because they were a piece of rubber. Won't be returning ever again.
The service was poor to say the least, but the food??? Served cold food!!!! Second time in 6 months. The first time thought it was just an off day. Now I know it’s a regular thing. This place is off the Cuban dining list for me and my family! Just 🤢
Very disappointed with the dishonesty of this restaurant I ordered 12 trays of paella at $45.69 each and I only received 10 I also ordered 2 trays of arroz con pollo at $24.80 each and I only received one tray. Then manager had the audacity to tell me they don't sell the paellas or arroz con pollo by trays when I have been buying them for years by tray at this restaurant. As I came into the restaurant I was told by another manager with an attitude, "Well you ordered all those trays and we could not put it all in one tray so we are going to take a little bit longer." This is the reason I did not put all of the trays in one big tray because I had a felling this was going to happen.
Long wait when empty and the food made everyone sick. Ordered the paella Valencia a for me and my family and everyone got sick. Been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years now and this was a first. I should’ve known something was up and canceled my order when I had to wait an additional hour for my food in an empty restaurant.
We ate here before for dinner, we got a combination selection. I can't remember what it was called but the food was great. Service was great... We had some extra time and went out of our way to eat brunch, like an hour out of our way.. The place was not busy but 3 other parties arrived 'AFTER' we got there and ALL of them got their food before we did. Not talking a few min but 10-15 min AFTER. Seems they favor specific ethnicities over tourists.. Waiter was polite but voting with my wallet.. We are done...
We have eaten here before and the food is always good. We decided to order from Romeu's for my daughter's 3rd birthday. We ordered a platter of rice, beans, pork, and plantains for 60 people. My husband went to the restaurant to place the order on a Tuesday to be picked up on Sunday. They were very pleasant and easy to work with and told him it would be ready by the time we needed it. Unfortunately, the day of the party when we went to pick it up, they said they never got our order and couldn't have all of the food ready for another three hours. When we said we were going to leave, they all of a sudden said they had rice, beans, and pork for 35 people available for us. We were desperate so we were willing to take it and just order pizza to make up for the extra food we needed...until they said it was going to be $927! They saw that we were desperate for food and increased the price, exponentially. I will never order from here again and do not recommend this place.
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and always had a pleasant experience and the food is very good. However, our waitress was very rude and inattentive the entire time. Took her 15 minutes to take our drink orders, another 15 minutes to take our orders. Another 30 minutes to bring our food and then brings our drinks 10 minutes later after receiving our meals. She never came by once to ask how we were doing and instead brought us the check. I did not leave her a tip because the service was terrible. Then MARCY or MARY, whatever her name is, decided to come back and SHAME us in front of the entire restaurant for not leaving her a tip. She was very disgusting and ultimately ruined the entire experience for us. It is sad to say after 5 years of coming to this restaurant it comes to and end like this. She should be thrown out like the rat she is.
