Mama Juanita's Spring Reviews
Wonderful food with a very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for a large group.
Great service and great food. The salsa is great, and they have vegetarian choices. The restaurant is cozy, not too commercialized and noisy.
Jesus was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent suggestions for our first time there. Food was GREAT!!! Everyone loved their meals. Even my picky 9 year old. I cannot rave about this place enough!! Absolutely must go to. This will be our date night Mexican place from now on.
We were recommended this place by a friend and it did NOT disappoint! The food was incredible and our server, Enrique gave us some of the best service we've had at a restaurant. We shared this chicken dish that was stuffed with jalapeno and wrapped in bacon. It was incredible and we had leftovers. The chips and salsa were great and the chips were warm. This will be our go-to Mexican restaurant.
My sister and her small family eat here rather consistently and have for years now. Carlos took care of them this time (and just about every time). Wonderful experience and excellent food. The fajita beef chimmy went down well and has no detracting after taste, one of the better ones I've had to be hinest. Their queso is basically drinkable with how good it is. And service was excellent. Carlos even gave the two small kids a free ice cream cone with their kids meal. That made their day and them a lot happier. 5 stars in every category and a must visit.
The food is pretty good here. They were out of some of the margarita options when we visited, but it was good overall.
Came on late for dinner as it was quite a drive from Sugar Land, it was about an hour close to closing. Upon arrival most of the guest have already left and some were halfway through their meal, me and my date already knew what we wanted as to not make the staff stay longer. Even though it was close to closing the service was in good standing and no cutting corners but very attentive and even the staff sticking conversation with the table next to ours which was very soothing to not just have amonotnic environment but a pleasant one with human interaction. Out order was ready withing a 15 minute period for the time we ordered, I was amazed by the serving size and the quality of the food. The meat was soft and tender, and the enchiladas were top notch. The aesthetics is good but there is always room for improvement. Would definitely want to come more frequently but the distance is a factor, never the less will make sure to stop by again when passing by the area
Clean reasturnt to include the bathroom. Quick service (we also came right before lunch), didnt have to wait for chips and drink refills. Really nice people working there. The Food is good, Im not a big fan though of whatever oil they use though to fry. I think personally its a off tasting oil. Only reason I cant give the 5th star.
The food was okay, but in Houston I'm used to much better Mexican food
Not an old school restaurant, a wanna be fancy restaurant. They don't have bacon/egg type tacos, only high priced plates that cost over $20.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The steak quesadillas are great, but I won't be back until they lower their prices. The steak quesadillas are right at $20 by themselves. I'm a frequent Mexican restaurants customer. I love Mexican and Latin food, but Mama Juanita's are so over priced and has priced themselves out of my restaurant rotation. They are higher than almost anywhere else around. While the food is great, it not so great that I feel I can justify the taste Vs the cost difference of other more reasonable restaurants. I'm sad to see them be removed from my list, but almost $40 for a steak quesadilla, 1 white queso, and two drinks is crazy... Even for The Woodlands/Shenandoah.
1st time eating here, we chose this place placed on previous reviews & plus I had it marked as a place I wanted to try. It was decent I felt like it could have been better. We went on a Tuesday around 5pm. Customer service was great! But I just felt like I expected better food quality wise based on prior reviews.
Stopped because i recognized a item on their menu as something ive eaten before. This experience was really bad food was not good at all. The restaurant atmosphere is old and dingy. Things felt sticky. My daughter said her kids taco tasted bad. They politely replaced it. My bravo burrito the vegetables used to be sauted well and seasoned good. This tasted like they were just steamed in a bag in the microwave and wrapped in a burrito. Not near as good as id remembered it from previous visit at a different location
I rate this place a zero! Talk about horrible food! They should close this place down. I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt Patron silver! They gave the most generic tequila in the planet so disgusting! I had to squeeze 5 limes an orange slice plus salt and still taste soo bad. And what salt NO SALT ON THE RIM OF GLASS. Rice taste like plastic and my daughter's fish was deep fried in an oil I'm thinking a month old. NEVER COME HERE PPL NEVER!
NOPE Dry tasteless food. Meat was barely seasoned. Parrillada for one was so dissapointing. I cant believe its 30 dollars... ribs were barely chewable. Chicken was as dry as it could be. The "sausage link" was so bad i couldnt eat more than 1 bite. We also had the bandera enchiladas... sloppy and messy and worst of all had zero taste. Overpriced Tex mex at best...
