Dot & Dough is known for its unique mochi donuts and filled donuts, particularly the cereal-topped varieties. Many customers rave about the texture and flavors, but some find them too sweet or were served cold donuts. Expect a wait as they are made fresh.
Tip: If you don't want to wait, call ahead to check the donut selection and place your order, as some donuts are made to order and can take 15 minutes or longer.
These mochi filled malasadas did not disappoint. Not just your normal creamy malasadas. Took a while for the guy to make these individually but hey, he was doing the one man show of taking orders and filling them one by one. He deserves the customer service badge 😆 Delicious and very very satisfying. Don’t visit too late otherwise you’ll miss out on the flavors.
Fantastically crafted donuts. This is definitely not your normal glazed donut you can get anywhere. Although they run a little more expensive than those other guys, your first bite will let you it was worth it. I recommend anything that has cereal on it! They make these fresh for you so you will need to wait, but believe me, it really is worth the money and wait for a treat!
This is my second visit to Dot & Dough, but my first at this location. I ordered the Taiwanese Brown Sugar filled, the Oreo filled, the Homer Chocolate, and the Oreo Mochi donut. First of all, their mochi donuts are the best; so delicious! I enjoyed the Taiwanese Brown Sugar filling; it was subtle, flavor-wise, and just overall a nice filling. The Oreo filled and Homer Chocolate had the same filling, which was a really nice chocolate filling. The Oreo mochi donut was amazing, but the dough from regular filled donuts was also really good. I love that they’re always fresh and warm, although I did drive to the beach to enjoy them there, so they weren’t as warm, but still delicious. The cashier was super sweet as well. I had a gift card that she didn’t know how to apply, but no biggie! I’ll def be back when I’m in the area :)
First time having this type of donut; it was great. The texture is really unique and shapes the experience.

Mochi donuts
If you're one to munch on simple plain donuts, this is not the donut shop for you! Dot n Dough is located inside Rodeo39 and will be on your far left when you enter. They have a great variety of filled donuts and mochi donuts. So you'll have a selection to pick from. Pretty sure you're bound to find one that you'll like. I picked 3 filled donuts (early grey, homer vanilla, magic mochi) and 3 mochi donuts (chamoy mango, cappuccino, crispy cereal chocolate) If you're more on the sweet tooth side, the filled donuts are perfect. They each have a very distinct cream taste. And if you're more on the subtle sweetness, mochi donuts will be your best bet. I took it home to my niece and nephew. We all had a bite of each donuts. My favorite was the earl grey, and the kids naturally loved the cereal ones. Highly recommend trying out this place if you haven't already.
I’ve had mochi donuts elsewhere before but was not a fan till I gave Dot & Dough a try. Highly recommend! Tried their premium stuffed and regular donuts. Flavors: taro stuffed, homer chocolate mochi, crispy chocolate cereal mochi, strawberry pocky mochi, milk & Cereal mochi, Oreo chocolate mochi, matcha white chocolate. Great texture and flavors. Good for gifting!
Amazing Mochi donuts. Way better than more popular places I have tried in SoCal. Give them a try!
The most perfect filled donuts.
Don't stop, but go to Dot & Dough Despite having a mochi donut shop nearby, I've never partaken of the new food fad. Probably because the shop only sells them by the 1/2 dozen/dozen, my daily travels brought me to Rodeo 39 on a hot summer day, the opportunity to avail myself of mochi donuts presenting itself. Noticing mochi donuts are only available after 1pm at Dot & Dough, I had a scrumptious lunch of banh xeo at Banh Xeo Boys, before coming back at the designated time. Debating whether or not to go 1 mochi & 1 filled donut, I decided upon 2 mochi donuts. Now the hard part - which to get? After careful deliberation, I went with the Homer Chocolate & Oreo Chocolate mochi donuts- Homer Chocolate mochi donut- I was pleasantly surprised how light & pillowy mochi donuts are. With a bit of a chewy texture, the mochi donut was airy like a cloud. The chocolate glaze & sprinkles added sweetness, yet not cloyingly so. Oreo Chocolate mochi donut- My favorite of the two, the Oreo Chocolate was delightfully crumbly. Not as sweet as the Homer, which is why I preferred this one. Plus, it's a little less messy. Service was good. The person working the counter took my order, and went to the back, freshly making them. Because of being made fresh to order, the wait time can be significant during busy hours. Ordering ahead is best, if you happen not to luck out & catch them w/o customers, like I did. Also, only contactless payment via card is accepted. No cash! Dot & Dough is located on the left side of Rodeo 39. Parking can be a nightmare at times, with Rodeo 39 sharing parking spaces with both Raising Cane's AND In & Out! Talk about parking spot envy! My first foray into mochi donut madness, and I love them! I'm not a donut guy, either. There was just something about the chewy bite & fluffy texture. Dot & Dough makes a quality product, made fresh, which comes with both positives & negatives. Order ahead to avoid wait times, but regardless of a long or short wait, it'll be worth it when you sink your teeth onto these sweet delights.

Easy to order. Prices higher than usual for a donut but they are different from usual. The mochi donuts were my favorite as they have the mochi texture. Ordered 2 filled Belgian chocolate donuts, one mochi and one regular. Made a mess as chocolate was too liquid and even had some lumps, either it wasn't mixed right or it wasn't the right type of chocolate to filled donuts with. For some reason the regular one was warm and the mochi one was cold. Also ordered fruity pebbles, other than shape, it was like a regular donut. I would give it a second chance but wouldn't order the Belgian chocolate one.
Tried these a few times and I though they were good but not raving about them. Never knew they should be hot or warm, as mine were always cold. Bummed that they displayed all of the donuts and when we went to order them, we were told everything on the top row were not available. Then why not remove them from the display case? The donuts themselves are great as they are not as sweet as a regular donut. Chocolate chocolate chip is my favorite. Actually, anything with chocolate is my favorite, as you can see from my photo posted with the review. At least give them a try.
8/15/2022 = 4 Star = my kids love it , i wish a litttle warm dough hehhee , we still enjoyed it , we still coming back , if you don't know the trick how to eat it can be messy, good thing they give us enough napkin ,

Good donut
Texture lacking and the icing is the only source of flavor with the donuts base being standard. Staff was friendly, packaging was cute, but the mochi leaves much to desire.
Donuts were good but from reading the other reviews I was expecting them to come out hot. Mine came out cold. I came on a weekday in the middle of the day and there was no wait.
Didn't order because donut selection was really limited. Cashier said it least a 15 minutes wait for Malasadas. So, we left with nothing.

I never knew that there was such a thing as a gross mochi donut until I came here! We got 4 different flavors and they were too sweet, so sweet, the kids didn't even finish them. A couple of them were even undercooked. And they are just as expensive as any other place, $3.25/donut. With that said, similar to their service, the texture was flat. We've had way better mochi donuts at King's Hawaiian, Mochinut, Modo Hawaii, even our local pink box donut store.

Wanted to try this place, but I'm sorry, aside from the matcha mochi donut, everything else was not good (earl grey, strawberry, ube, fruity pebbles etc.). They were too sweet and like another reviewer's experience, came out cold. The price was also quite high and comparable to Bay Area prices?
It was gross. Sugary donut with a lot of frosting inside. And cold.

Gross...
Read reviews about their donuts being fresh to order. In the middle of the evening, I thought that sounded great since I expected most donuts to be made in the morning and Krispy Kreme was going to be a longer drive. I called, after reading a review that it takes a while to make, and asked how long it takes to make a fresh order of donuts. They said they don't make donuts fresh to order but that they have some fresh from the morning ready to go. I went anyway, thinking maybe there was some confusion. How can reviews say that if it wasn't true? I drive over there and see no employee at the front. I overhear customers, with placed orders for fresh donuts, saying they are taking a while. I asked, "How long have you been waiting?" They said, "10 minutes." I noticed a sign on the counter that says "Busy making fresh donuts, ring the bell for assistance." I rang the bell after a few minutes of waiting. I was excited that it appeared that they do make fresh donuts. When the employee came out, to confirm this, I asked him if they make fresh donuts. He said, "Yeah, fresh from this morning." I asked him, "Why are there reviews that indicate fresh to order, why does this sign say busy making fresh donuts, and why are there people behind me waiting over 10 minutes for theirs." He said, "Oh, that is the mochi donuts." I said, "Great I will have the oreo mochi donut." He said, "We don't have any more." I walked off. Extremely disappointing experience and unacceptable = 1 star.
