Canlon's Restaurant Staten Island Reviews
Long time local restaurant serving an extensive menu contained almost any type of delicious food - whatever you mood.
Best 5 Course Salmon over Spinach & Baked Potato Dinner for under $20! Includes: Soup & Salad, Garlic Bread Basket, Entree, Brownie Ice Cream Dessert & Coffee!
The only reason for four stars for atmosphere is it can get a little loud. We had an office party and fully enjoyed the delicious food! The wait staffis very attentive but not intrusive. Will return!
This place is amazing. The food is excellent. Definitely going back. You have got to try Canlon’s
So happy we decided to head to Canlon's for our Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was perfect ! Food, Service, such a wonderful atmosphere and experience. P.S. Coldest beer I've ever had at a restaurant which to some (like me) is very important :o)
The food here is INCREDIBLE. Best French Dip I’ve ever had in my life and it’s loaded with so much meat and flavor. The portion sizes are huge and the menu is incredible, I’m blown away by this place’s consistently tasty food. Update 5 years later: We threw my dad’s surprise 60th birthday here and couldn’t have had a better experience. The staff was so lovely and flexible, the food was incredible, and Eddie was awesome. Truly an amazing experience!
Third time in three months! Each time everything was super delicious!!! Staff attentive and friendly!
I really enjoyed it and will be back many more times. The "Crazy Eddie" sandwich is spectacular.
Good food, good prices, solid staff. Try the Nancy & Jim Salad (shrimp & salmon over a gorgeous salad). We always leave smilin'. :-)
I would probably never have found this place if it wasn't for a gift certificate someone gave my family, but now I know I will defiintely be back! The food is so homey and comforting I am excited to see what else they have. I got the Sunday Pasta special which came with an app, soup/salad, entree, dessert and coffee. The staff was so kind and attentive they made the whole experience a 10. A gentleman who I can only assume was the owner made his rounds speaking to the regulars and greeting newcomers (us) who will most definitely become regulars if our future visits are as good as our first visit. I hope they stay open for many years to come so we have the chance to become regulars and bring more of our family to enjoy a meal.
To start, the owner was very nice when we booked a bereavement driver. The price was great, the food really good, servers were nice, and they made a little custom menu with her name on it. Overall it was a 10/10 in my book. Also there's no parking lot but it's metered parking so there was plenty of spots outside. I'll be having more family events here in the future.
Very chill and relaxed place. AMAZINGLYYYY DELICIOUS FOOD!!! PERFECT ATTENTIVE SERVICE! SO SO SO MANY amazing food options! It was honestly hard to decide. We got the seafood appetizer sampler which came served beautifully in a tower and artichoke dip with delicious garlic bread (best I ever had). We got soups with our entree that were included (french onion and Manhattan clam chowder). Hubby and I though roughly enjoyed both. For main course I got "the lepprachan entree and hubby got the lamb shank. We both loved it!!!!
A hidden gem. The food was amazing 🤩. Prices were a bit high but with it as a treat. Honestly the place is clean and unassuming the staff were on point and helpful. I was surprised and will definitely be going back. Highly recommended!
Had the stuffed shrimp with pasta. The shrimp to me tasted like the frozen cooked variety with a mound of tasteless bread crumbs mixture around it. The angel hair pasta had a plain marinara sauce over it. Did not taste home made to me. I have been here before and have had a couple of good meals. Just a bad selection I guess.
Went yesterday for Easter dinner. We were a party of 18. Upon making the reservation I was assured that we would be on the ground level since it is very hard for me to climb the stairs. Upon arrival we were told we would be in the basement which meant 4 stairs to the main floor and then a flight of stairs to the basement. The graffiti on the wall as you enter makes the place look like the ghetto. The room down the basement was unsightly and had no ventilation. They didn't bother to change the online menu so we were unable to get what we really wanted. As far as the food no one really enjoyed it. Soup wasn't hot. leg of lamb was tough and looked like cold cuts. Chicken basilica was also not good. The whole family was disappointed after they traveled from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to come here. We will probably never return which is sad because we always enjoyed Canlons.
Irish lasagna at lunch wasn't fit for a pet. Labelling this dish as a lasagna is clear false advertising. I wouldn't know what to call this dish. No cabbage to be seen. No rye croutons. Clearly not baked. Maybe microwaved? It was 90% oily swiss cheese. The server was sweet. She took that meal off of our tab. Unfortunately, we were not offered our included luncheon dessert so only can give 4 stars to her. My father did enjoy his seafood combo oreganata, but we can't trust this place's menu. Soups were tasty (lentil and spinach pasta) but thinking they are not made fresh at this point.
